so i am seeing a deal for them that should go down in price in new year sale around 250 for both or should i wait for a bit for mid winter for a deal for 4060
know my budget is that much and might be able to add 50 if i can
and it sucks i can't find a good price for 9070xt cuz the mark up for this gpu is insane due to scalpers and AI farm buyers plus import fee ''ugh'' god the gpu prices has been fucked and i don't see it correcting it self anytime soon. gone are the days a good mid range gpu being around 300 like gtx 970 and it sucks balls how shit it has gotten

If that's the regular 2070 and not the Super, then the 3060. From what I am seeing it will at worst be on part with the 2070, and in some cases surpass it by a little bit.

4060 is a LITTLE stronger in terms of horsepower than the 3060, but the problem is it only has 8GB of VRAM which is becoming increasingly problematic. IIRC there were games being benchmarked at release for the 4060 where the 3060 performed better almost solely because of the increased VRAM.

yeah higher vram is the reason i am aiming to upgrade since resident evil 2 remake drops fps on my gtx 970 just turning a few setting up. so 3060 is the one i am most leaning now

The 3060 is all around better. I picked up a used EVGA and it's been very good.

hmm i see rx7600xt 16gb is 300$ so better deal or nah. and honestly i wanted to save up for 9070xt 16gb but with how tight my budget for the next year will be since i am still doing odd jobs and not a full time job since i moved it will be hard to do. plus with tariff fucking up the economy i want to get a new card before prices goes to hell and a card that can last me like my gtx 970 is a must if i wanted to play newer games like FF7r or E33

I have a 3060. It was awesome when it first came out but now I can feel it's sluggishness

8gb vram just isnt enough for any games in the last couple of years, nevermind what's coming out in future.

It all depends on what you want to play.

yep 8gb is not going to cut it for these heavy games from here on and not when most of the gaming devs keep using UE which sucks and RT gimmick being pushed into games more and more
i don't like these fake frame gens or upscaling but if it can be improved i will be willing to use it to expand my new cards life down the road with it

I actually like the dlss stuff

But I agree with the idea that optimisation and lean development has taken a backseat apparently

7600XT is probably the better deal. As long as you don't care about RT, it will perform somewhere between a 3060 and 3060 TI while having more VRAM. Regarding those two games specifically, You should be fine at 1080P or 1440P with upscaling.

Modern upscaling is fine. Honestly, even if I'm getting good FPS, I'll usually set DLSS to quality just because the the AA it provides is better and less demanding than any other option. That said, FSR 3 (which you would be using with the 7000 series) is fine, but not as good.

good to know then i will keep this card in mind and if somehow (doubt it will be soon) the whole AI bubble pops gpu's might drop in prices then i could pick up a 9070xt when it comes down to 300

so to recoup some expense thinking of selling my gtx 970 when i go buy a new gpu. what is a fair price iyo for it 150? used only for 2.5 years when i bought it and now that i am running it should be 3 after new years when winter sales start in my local area
nevermind seeing the prices on ebay i figure this will go for 50 bucks and i would be luckly if i can sell it over 80
