At least the "money" we gave Israel and Ukraine was money spent on munitions and ordinance that came back INTO the US economy in some way, even if was all Northrup Grumman and Raytheon and shit like that. Argentina is just Trump giving rich investors in Argentina $20 Billion in some form of credit or some shit to "bolster" their economy.

I mean it's still incredibly scammy

Unfortunately in the USA if you don't want to be completely bankrupted by health issues you kinda need it, but even then you might still end up completely bankrupted by health issues if your insurance provider decides not to cover shit.

Like I pay $600 a month for health insurance for my family, plus $35 copays for office visits, $70 copays for specialist visits, and then a $2000 deductible before it really starts kicking in, then $8000 out of pocket before it starts paying for everything (assuming covered). I have no idea what a bill will be until like two months after a visit, so I could go thinking I'm covered then get hit with a $900 bill because some part of the visit wasn't covered. Like the time I went to an in-network hospital but one of the doctors who worked at that in-network hospital and saw me was actually out-of-network.

It's all so fucking dumb, I'd much rather just pay higher taxes.

People in the US spend much more per capita on healthcare than they do in any other country, and outcomes are worse than they are in many other industrialised nations.

So someone is being taken for a ride.

Administrative costs alone are nearly three times as much the the next highest country (Switzerland). Inefficient system that penalises the most vulnerable, and has far too many organizations queuing up to exploit it for profit.

MTG is having a moment because her self interest, xenophobia, and anti semitism are not being served by Trump's policies. But she has managed to recognize that fact, making her more self-aware than the average MAGA.

Private health insurance is a scam, yes. That's why we need universal healthcare.

Everyone must be treated for emergency reason, by law. It's crazy that that very thing is what these people have been set off against.

She's right that health insurance is a scam. I don't think every kind of insurance is necessarily, but medical should be tax funded in this country, full stop.

Same. I think people are too ready to call everyone obvious liars and grifters just because it feels better to believe. Hanlon's has always held strong, in my experience. Not to say that one can't be stupid and malicious.

oh damn i forgot about that threshold, i have gotten billed through medicare so i don't realize how bad it gets.

had to pay 240$ before they help. haven't gotten billed for the multiple visits on anything else with the other insurance for regular visits (used a clinic that has a sliding scale system) based on income earning.

on that note wish they lower the threshold. 8k is too much before they help. should be 2-3k.
