That depends a lot on how you define worst and who you ask.
Heres a balanced summary of the main perspectives:
Critics say Trump was among the worst because:
  • Democratic norms: He tried to overturn the 2020 election results and encouraged false claims of fraud, which many historians view as an unprecedented threat to U.S. democracy.
  • Pandemic response: His handling of COVID-19 downplaying its seriousness early on and politicizing public health measures is often criticized as costly in lives and trust.
  • Polarization and rhetoric: His use of inflammatory language deepened political and social divisions.
  • Foreign policy unpredictability: Critics say he alienated allies, praised authoritarian leaders, and withdrew from key agreements (like the Paris Climate Accord) without clear strategy.
Supporters argue he was one of the best because:
  • Economy (pre-pandemic): Unemployment reached record lows, and the stock market was strong.
  • Judiciary: He reshaped the Supreme Court and federal judiciary with conservative judges for decades to come.
  • Foreign policy (supporters view): He pursued America First policies, pressured NATO allies to pay more, and brokered Middle East normalization deals (Abraham Accords).
  • Deregulation and tax cuts: Businesses benefited from reduced regulation and lower corporate taxes.
What historians and scholars say:
Most recent historical rankings (like the 2024 C-SPAN Presidential Historians Survey) place Trump near the bottom, often in the 40s out of 45, alongside presidents like Buchanan and Harding. The main reasons cited: damage to democratic norms and crisis management failures.
In short:
  • Academically: Hes currently rated among the worst.
  • Politically: Many Americans either view him as disastrous or as a transformational outsider theres rarely middle ground.

Lets ask chatgpt.

Why Using ChatGPT on a Message Board Isnt Lazy Its Strategic
  1. Youre leveraging modern tools.
  2. Using ChatGPT is like using a calculator, Grammarly, or a search engine its a tool that amplifies your ability to express ideas, not a shortcut that replaces them. Refusing to use it out of purity is like insisting on hand-writing essays with a quill.
  3. It enhances communication, not replaces thought.
  4. The best posts still need a human spark ideas, humor, perspective. ChatGPT just helps you organize or sharpen that expression. Youre curating and refining, not outsourcing your mind.
  5. Its efficient.
  6. Why spend 20 minutes typing what you can draft in 2 and then refine? Efficiency isnt laziness its optimization. People who adapt to better tools usually outpace those who dont.
  7. It raises the floor for discussion.
  8. Instead of half-baked replies or typos, AI-assisted posts can be clearer, more coherent, and better sourced. That improves the signal-to-noise ratio of the entire board.
  9. It shows adaptability not apathy.
  10. Using AI responsibly demonstrates that youre comfortable with new tech and capable of blending machine assistance with human judgment. Thats literally the definition of big-brain energy in the 2020s.
TL;DR
Using ChatGPT isnt lazy its like bringing a high-powered assistant to a conversation.
Lazy is not thinking.
Smart is using every tool available to think better and faster.

Definitely bottom tier. He has a strong case for being the worst with the treason and all.

More specifically, his only competition are Presidents who failed to stop the Civil War or messed up Reconstruction. The likes of...
-Franklin Pierce ("Compromise" of 1850)
-James Buchanan (Bleeding Kansas, Enforcing the Fugitive Slave Act, Didn't nip the nascent Confederacy in the bud).
-Andrew Johnson (Huge reason Reconstruction is considered a failure, although several Presidents after him deserve scorn as well).

Probably can include some others in there (Warren G Harding for example), but those 3 came to mind.

Oh wait, is this going to be a "hate on ai slop thread"? Urgh...

Kind of interesting that TC is shameless about it being an ai generated post. Kind of, dare I say , "admirable" in a way. Still, the GPT didn't criticize Trump for treason and the horrible, regrettable state of the country due to him throwing out so many political norms and respect for opposing opinions. So AI or not, it is a bad presentation of Trump's status.

I would say he is because there have been several times, especially on this term, where he has made decisions that are actively in the name of regressive thinking and being contrarian, almost to the point of trolling the opposition. Slashing things like funding for Corporation for Public Broadcasting and the National Weather Service is an attack on intellectualism and empirical data and he only seems to do it because not having them around to challenge what he says with actual facts means he can say whatever he wants, regardless of how asinine and illogical it is.

He is very much subscribing to a "you're not allowed to prove me wrong" attitude and the harm it could do has the potential for being long-lasting.

He is also not doing anything to assuage the tension that exists between his camp and his opposition. There are people out there who genuinely want a new civil war to start so they can finally eliminate the opposing viewpoint through force and a good leader - especially in a country that claims to be democratic and shuns countries that suppress their own citizens - should not be tolerating this, even if it means distancing themselves from their supporters. Trump doesn't care about the United States' stability and as a total civilization, just the part of the country that will hold him up on a pedestal, hence actions like ICE's grievous overreaches and using armed response to quash to domestic protests (since those appease all the armchair border patrollers and tankies that have his back and "give those illegals/loudmouths what they have coming"). That's unacceptable for someone who holds the title of president. You cannot just sit by (or even stoke) when citizens in your country are trying to egg on a civil divide that is continually becoming more and more violent, regardless of their political alignment.

Having Biden in the bottom two is especially a joke, since the biggest knock against Biden is that Trump got elected in 2024.

Thats a big and complex question and opinions on it vary a lot depending on political perspective, historical criteria, and what you value in presidential leadership.
Heres a balanced breakdown:
Arguments from critics (why some call Trump among the worst)
  • Democratic norms: Critics argue he undermined democratic institutions, attacked the press and judiciary, and refused to accept the 2020 election results culminating in the January 6th Capitol attack.
  • Pandemic response: His handling of COVID-19 is often cited as disorganized and dismissive of scientific advice.
  • Divisiveness: Many believe he deepened political and social polarization.
  • Corruption and ethics: Multiple investigations, two impeachments, and extensive use of public office for personal/political gain are often mentioned.
Arguments from supporters (why others strongly disagree)
  • Economic record pre-COVID: The economy grew steadily with low unemployment and a booming stock market before the pandemic.
  • Foreign policy: He avoided new wars, began normalization deals between Israel and Arab states, and challenged China on trade.
  • Drain the swamp populism: Many saw him as standing up to elites and reshaping the Republican Party to focus on working-class voters.
  • Judicial appointments: He appointed three Supreme Court justices and reshaped the federal judiciary for decades.
Historical perspective
Historians rankings typically place Trump near the bottom but not always the worst. For example:
  • The 2024 C-SPAN Presidential Historians Survey ranked him last (45th) overall.
  • However, such rankings can change over time; presidents like Truman and Grant rose in standing decades later.
In short:
  • Critics call him the most dangerous or destructive president in U.S. history.
  • Supporters see him as a transformative outsider unfairly attacked by the establishment.
  • Historians, so far, mostly view him negatively though historical judgment evolves.
Would you like me to compare him with other controversial presidents (like Nixon, Buchanan, or Andrew Johnson) for context?

Sure, that was a really shitty Biden policy position (although absolute and mindless US support for Israel's latest atrocities is also utterly generic US foreign policy for the past 75 years).

But it's nothing compared to Biden bungling both the prosecution of Trump and the election of 2024.

By far the worst. So much blatant corruption, no tact, no decor. Points fingers and never accepts accountability. Anti science, anti helping the working class. A president is supposed to bring people together, but he's tearing them apart. The U.S. has never been more divided in the 21st century.

I don't agree with employment being the lowest with him. And even if that's somehow true, that doesn't mean the amount of skilled jobs have maintained.
