I have it a perfect score on Letterboxd, one of the most gripping movies I've ever watched. It's definitely scary with good horrible creature designs but I processed it more like a thriller than something that keeps me up at night. I didn't see this movie for the first time until 2021 and I loved it. Keep in mind I don't like horror or any of that stuff. I only have watched Alien, for better or worse. John Carpenter literally went on a pivotal horror run for like 15 years. He's got the apocalypse trilogy: The Thing Prince of Darkness In the Mouth of Madness While IMO the Thing is the GOAT, all 3 are classic in their own right.
