Looks like the rally in Queens had crazy turnout. I didn't even think Forest Hills stadium could accommodate that many people.

In contrast, Cuomo's rally with Jewish groups only pulled in about 300 people. To the point that even attendees complained at the turnout.

It's exciting, because the establishment is so desperately fumbling to try to put him down. I wouldn't even know about this guy if not for how badly Republicans want him to lose.

(Not that I get a say in it, I don't live in New York so I can't vote for him)

It's true though that we shouldn't expect one man to single handedly fix everything, but every victory in these troubled times is a morale boost we desperately need.

It's not about what zohran can do for the country. It's about energizing a grassroots progressive politics movement where the candidates aren't beholden to the plutocracy but instead get their money from the average person.

This. If Mamdani wins, it will atleast make people feel that there's still SOME hope to take this country back. Everyone is in doomer mode and with a win for someone like Mamdani, it is what people need in a time like this.

Well, election day is what? The 4th? And polls close at 9pm.

I don't know for sure but I imagine we'll probably have our answer that same night or the next day if it's particularly close.

Absolutely. All the democrats need is someone of equal will and desire. Trump is proving that he can do anything the hell he wants and no one will question him.

Problem is that democrats historically suck and are almost always scared little pussycats.

At this point, Cuomo is happily validating everyone's feelings. You can be bigoted, you can leave the city, you can sabotage Mamdani. Because that's his plan and every other wealthy interest in the city. Folks like Ackman are insane.

I agree. I honestly thought Kamala was going to win. There was so much buzz and energy surrounding her campaign early on that I really thought there was a chance. Instead, not only did she lose...she was absolutely trounced in both the popular vote and the EC, and that was depressing to see.

If Cuomo does win, he will face round-the-clock protests the moment he takes office, and deservedly so.

I am sure that he will have to compromise on some of his positions or moderate them, but that is OK by me. I don't need buses that are free. I just need buses that don't cost me $2.90 to go 2 miles in 45 minutes.

Remember, tomorrow and Wednesday are the late night early voting days.

If we see a dip in turnout today, it's because we didn't catch evening rush hour because it ended at 5:00.

If we average 80k a day, 70% of all turnout might end up being early voters.

@ZacharyDonnini
A solid datapoint for Mamdani, the early vote electorate so far looks notably bluer than in 2024.

Through Day 3 of 2025 NYC EV:
74.0% Registered D
12.6% Registered R

2024 EV:
69.9% Registered D
13.0% Registered R

My note: Most early voters so far are 35+

It was $0.98 a while ago. Still good odds.

Probably will buy in a bit to make a couple bucks. I hope he pulls through.

All it takes are a few people with some juice to make waves in any part of the political spectrum. The modern American political left was reignited by one old man in 2016 and again by AOC a few years later. Zohran has a chance to do that again in a time when the establishment has shown itself to be out of ideas and unable to lead or galvanize resistance.

The consequences of this could be huge. I'd love to see a country where it's not just about whether you're a Democrat, it's about whether you're a Zohran style Dem or not.

A few people with a pulse can be worth more than a trillion political zombies combined.

I think Zohran is the best choice, but he's leading by just over 50 percent in NYC while facing a sexual predator and a guy who's legit insane. Let's not oversell it. He has to also be mayor first, too.

And Bernie has recently decided a guy with a tattoo of the Waffen SS should have continued political relevance, I'm not really sure his influence is very positive ATM

I agree. It is a sad statement of affairs that Zohran, someone who is objectively the best candidate, doesn't have this in the bag. The fact that *anyone* votes for Andrew Cuomo at all is really a good summary of what's wrong with our country. Virtually everyone agrees that government doesn't really serve the needs of the people, but then we keep electing establishment candidates that presided over that same government that didn't really serve the needs of the people! Why?

Objectively, Zohran is very fortunate that the primary is ranked Choice but the primary isn't. I don't think Zohran is perfect, but he's far superior to Cuomo, who's a sex creep reptile. And Sliwa is at best, an odd relic from the 80s. At worst, he's a crazy old New York racist

Zohran's in a tight spot because Hochul doesn't like him and isn't inclined to do things so he can fulfill his campaign promises. But it's like DeBlasio: it's worth it if he gets in and does just a few good things before everyone hates him because that's what happens when you're mayor of NYC. People hate you
