Here's the thing

TV is actually boring as hell

So our parents and grandparents, whose only hobby was and to this day is TV, were and to this day are overjoyed to have to mow some damn grass and rake some damn leaves simply because it's less boring.

The HOA says otherwise. Smh

I mostly agree, but they can look messy and bad if it rains and leaves are piling up and getting stuck to concrete or pavement, slowly turning into mush. Still not worth a dirty, noisy leaf blower at 8 in the morning, though.

i watch my neighbors each year blow all the leaves in their yard right into the fucking street. i have to scoop up all those fucking things because the main storm drain is right by my house and they block it up every time it rains.

That would piss me off. Best case scenario for a leaf blower is an electric one and you direct the leaves into a neat pile on your own property, not blow them to make a mess elsewhere.

honestly if they just left them in piles i'd ask to take them, i can always use more leaves for compost, but blowing them into the street means they mix with all the filth in the street and i dont want motor oil and plastic bits in my compost.

Leaves are needed for soil. The idea of raking them away is marketing and absurdity

I leave mine alone in the fall and winter. But come spring they need to be gone, I usually mow them down. It attracts too many snakes.

well one of the truly annoying things about a lawn full of leaves is you track them in continuously since they stick to your shoes. hell i take my shoes off at the door and still get some in, plus my dog brings them in.

as for critters in your yard. well that would be true for a natural environment but honestly there's not much life in a grass lawn. unsurprisingly introducing an invasive monoculture into your yard tends not to bring in the native life. you want areas for native bugs to hide out over winter? turn your yard into garden space and mulch it over winter with leaves.

Until it starts getting wet out there I agree
