This is not new or a conspiracy, it's a very consistent and predictable pattern. So many Democrats need to be moderate to win their seats (or so they claim) that this will inevitably happen. They also don't want their flights to be delayed.

The only solution is getting enough principled progressives to really make a stand and that's unfortunately very unlikely.

This is going to be spun as if Schumer was opposed and this was a small group who caved. But I don't think it will actually be treated that way. If a member of the Squad bucked the party in something this high profile, in a way that changed the outcome of a vote and contradicted the stated policy of the leaders of the party, they would be stripped of all power and isolated. We'll see if that happens to Durbin, Kaine, etc. I don't think it will. They took the bullet for the rest who couldn't afford to cave with an election coming up.

I don't know what to tell you, I was absolutely right here. I have consistently held the same positions for years and the only thing that has changed is the amount of contempt I have for the Democrats, which is directly proportional to how ineffective they are at doing anything at all about the impending collapse of the country (or stopping a genocide they had full power to stop). The Democrats are terrible at being guardians of democracy and the American people and criticizing them for it is not misinformation or conspiracy talk. I criticize them because I want them to be better.
