IMO it's incredible. I think that there are flaws (the world map is a bit wonky, the menus are pretty bad, some people hate the lack of a minimap but I didn't mind it), but like...those are all pretty small things in the grand scheme of things. I loved the gameplay, story, characters, and obviously the OST. I did almost everything that there was to do in the game and fucking loved all of it. Removing that would be balancing the fun out of it. Everything before the end of Act 2 is a good challenge on Expert. Pictos like Painted Power and Cheater are supposed to break the game. You can make Act 3 as hard or as easy as you want it to be. You dont have to use Steindhal or Gommage. You dont even have to use Painted Power. You could do a No Picto run and make it hard as balls, you could min/max as much as possible and live a power fantasy, or you could do somewhere in the middle. I personally min/maxed as much as possible, but tried not to use Steindhal (except when grinding Golgra or the Renoirs Drafts Merchant). I played on Expert and reloaded if I ever took damage, so the way I saw it, if the fight went on long enough with me perfectly parrying everything and Maelle got 3 gradient charges, Gommage was fair game. --- https://store.steampowered.com/wishlist/profiles/76561198052113750 ... pegusus123456 posted... I think it's unbalanced the same way Symphony of the Night is unbalanced. If you have any kind of game sense, it's very easy to become incredibly OP. Eh, its easy to execute but it requires a lot of setup, understanding of mechanics and just time to hit the level to do things like 1 shot the final optional bosses. If you do a lot/all of the optional stuff and you understand what you're doing, you're rewarded for that knowledge. That's optimal balance. Because even if you don't 100% know how to do it, you can still get by with other things. Sub-optimal builds are valid. It's like D&D campaigns and ones that are optimized for power gaming and those who aren't. You can't really build towards both and its usually feels better for players to be rewarded with easier times because it validates their knowledge. Act 3s balance is kind of all over the place as youd expect from a semi-open world. The hardest things in Act 3 are pretty hard, the easiest things are a joke. So I can see the criticism. Thats just the nature of an "open world" it honors this by giving hard challenges and trusting the players to find the areas appropriate to them. Do you have any ideas how many times i would go back to But some people seem offended that the final boss will be a joke if you do literally anything but go straight to the final area as soon as Act 3 starts.
