I wonder what causes it. Is it like a neurological kinda thing? Is it just that persons eye that got messed up or something? He was in Beirut during the 80's and their barracks got carpet bombed. He has major PTSD supposedly.

Elaborate?
Over a year ago, I dreamed that I met a very powerful succubus who was looking for a good time. She radiated her sexual prowess as an aura and climbed onto my back saying how much fun we were going to have. I woke up before the act and yelled "no" as soon as I realized what happened.
A week later, I'm dreaming of a school setting and a young woman appeared in my dream where she was being called a demon by some people in class. I ask her why she here and she asked for sex. I agreed and we did it. She turned out to be a novice who wanted my virtue as a tally and it wasn't fun at all.
I've yet to see one since.
Oh dreams, I have met so many in demons in dreams, heck I even met God and the devil at least once each. Sadly I usually wake up too quickly.
The stretching I get, our perception can be wonky, but adding wrinkles/gills? That seems weird as shit.
Kind of reminds me of the visual novel Saya no Uta. I can't say I would necessarily "recommend" it (some material is highly questionable at best in it) but it's definitely memorable!
I have myself seen my late grandfather on my dad's side (the one who has accepted me for my wants in life) and he was checking in on me. He even gave me a souvenir mug from Indiana, which I would later learn that we have family living there.
Most of my family denies it was him, but I genuinely believe he's still touring America like he loved to do when he was still alive.
Saya no Uta in real lifeMy first thought from the topic title
what if...he has awoken his third eye and can tell all da lizard people whoReminds me of an old PnP Rpg from White Wolf. The World of Darkness setting which is a rival to DnD, is set in modern day earth but with stuff like vampires and werewolves. And one of their game lines is Changling The Dreaming. You play as a Faerie Folk basically. You look like a human to normal people but to other Fae, you look like your true form whatever it may be. Like some look like Goblins I think. Or elves. Imagine if this guy has the Fae Sight or whatever
