Its one of those things bored middle class mostly white activists tackle so they don't have to do a form of activism that runs the risk of helping people in the real world. You can guarantee activists battling against Cultural Appropriation are gong to stay the absolute fuck away from the economy or living standards or health care or any other "normie" thing

Does anyone give a shit about 99% of the villains made in the last 10 or so years? They'll never right a batman villain more iconic than the Joker or a spiderman villain more iconic than Green Goblin, etc, so gotta keep them alive, reason be dammed. And if they do die, except them to be back soon after anyway

I dunno about that, I think Kill The Justice League did some harm to the live service formula.

They aren't the ONLY games that could be crashing, but a few more KTJL type failures (or even underperfomances like Avengers) could finish off or at least heavily reduce the model.

I almost entirely play indie games and older games so I don't have a massive amount of skin in the game

Tbh games that only focus on gameplay often have better longevity, but a good story can really stay with you.

There's a reason ff6 is more beloved than 5, despite 5 having the job system, better bosses and better dungeons.

Likewise there's a reason Pokemon Mystery Dungeon explores has a much bigger fandom than Super Mystery Dungeon, even with the later being obstenially more advance (though I dont think the story of SMD was terrible)

Luck stats can be useful but the game needs to actually explain and the explanation should not be any of the following:

Something good might happen!

It adds a bit to everything but we're not going to tell you how it works!

It does something but we won't tell you what.

Like it has some niche as the crit avoid stat in fire emblem even if its one of the weaker stats

Tbh I like gingersnaps when their starting to go off and are a little soft. I think room temper milk can taste quite nice and many foods just at or slightly over expiry date still taste fine
