I don't bother with trying to hold onto being a "Star Wars fan" anymore, because really I'm just a huge fan of the OT and that's very nearly the entirety of my fondness for the franchise, besides some of the video games. Pretty much this. Outside of the OT, the limits of my fandom more or less end with Shadows of the Empire, Andor, and The Mandalorian (though I am still compelled to check out a fair chunk of the new media, especially after Andor turned out to be such a diamond in the rough). --- Simple questions deserve long-winded answers that no one will bother to read. |

Fun fact: at the time it came out, Sutherland was the biggest star attached to Animal House; convinced that it was going to bomb, he opted to take a flat rate of $70K for his role instead of a percentage of gross. He missed out on millions. EDIT y'know considering that half of CE probably only knows Sutherland as 'that guy from that meme,' most of y'all probably never heard of Animal House either, so I don't know why I brought it up. --- Simple questions deserve long-winded answers that no one will bother to read. |

Pretty good designs overall, and they represented the series finally making the leap into wireless / online trade and battling, which made 'catching 'em all' easier than ever and made older-gen 'mons relevant again.

Without Dark Helmet the sequel won't work. Yeah, the older I get the more I realize that Rick Moranis / Dark Helmet made that movie. One of those fast-food places that was actually worth dining in because they had a pretty decent salad bar.

How is Spaceballs a kid unfriendly movie? As one of my favorites that I have watched probably 3 or 4 times a year since it came out in 1987 I find it to be pretty kid friendly. Unless you come from some extreme religious household that views any swearing as some huge offense. Didn't think that'd be a controversial assessment, lol. It may not have any gore or gruesome cartoon meltings, but it's every bit of a PG-13 movie in terms of language and innuendo, and I'm sure you remember a time when casual f-bombs were much less commonplace and people - especially parents - cared way too much about that kind of stuff. In spite of all that I somehow became obsessed with that movie when I was four years old, and my parents let me watch it under the oft-repeated rule that "you're allowed to hear those words so long as you never say them." --- Simple questions deserve long-winded answers that no one will bother to read. |

Take that scene out or even tone it down, and the viewer can't really relate to just how horrifying the The Dip is conceptually to the otherwise-immortal Toons, who we've all grown up watching get shot, blown up, dropped off cliffs, sliced into a dozen pieces, etc.

Huuh, I know it fits the whole wisdom shtick, but I'm not comfortable with how passive she is in combat given the Zelda team's issues with having a female hero for these games.
