Canon is not what a work's creator says in interviews or in passing. it's what is found within their associated works.

This is my take as well. If you've ever written a story (especially something as expansive as your average jrpg), you know that you've got a hundred unused plot threads floating around in your head that never made it past the doodling phase, either because you couldn't fully iron out the details / logistics, they were just plain dumb to begin with, or they ended up not being important. These might be things that come up in an interview when the creator is pressed on a relevant subject, which are then treated as gospel by internet posters who need whatever ammo they can get to win and argument.

The 7-10 connection as it's presented in the games rides that middle ground where it's clearly more than a simple easter egg, but not detailed / logistically developed enough to be taken as literal canon, nor should it ever be. It's an interesting spiritual connection where the player is invited to either headcanon it by filling in the gaps themselves, or brush it off as a giant coincidence.

Personally, I take it to mean they aren't canonically related, though they may have been at one point, but are definitely spiritually connected. There's more similar themes between the two than just simple easter eggs.

I agree with this. Having the kid in FF X-2 be named "Shinra" would've been an Easter egg on its own. Having him discover a method of harnessing energy from the Farplane almost identical to Mako is an eerie coincidence. Having Rin go on a surprisingly dark monologue about how the spiritually-minded Spirans' days are numbered and that it'll be the technologically-gifted Al Bhed who will soon inherit the world (all too similar to what happened with the Cetra) makes it all a deliberate yet purposefully vague spiritual connection between the two games. The addition of the Shinra character in the founder's photo in Remake is just icing on the cake.

It's obviously not set-in-stone canon and probably never will be, but dismissing the connection as just a couple of meaningless Easter eggs is equally shortsighted.

I get the feeling he didn't like it.

I mean, judging the trailer in a bubble, you could walk away with the impression that the New Vegas aspect is little more than set dressing, which would unfortunately be on-brand for Bethesda Fallout. "Remember Dinky the Dinosaur? Ooh, we totally need to set an episode there!"

Fortunately, the show has a surprisingly great writing staff that already proved with S1 that they can treat the full breadth of source material about as respectfully as could be reasonably expected. Still, it didn't exactly put to bed fears that Bethesda is looking to retcon the West Coast lore with the whole "Fall of Shady Sands 2277" bit.

Ultimately s2 will finally answer the question of how Bethesda truly feels about NV the game; will they let the writers be respectful of the exsiting lore / game events, or is this finally their chance to play Salieri to Obsidian's Mozart and retcon that pesky fan-favorite out of canon for good and all?

To be honest, this probably wasn't a big deal for the plane. That's the weakest quadrant of a hurricane, and it's just going through the outer bands.

This. While a hurricane may look like a massive ball of death from satellite photographs, the weather patterns within are quite varied; if you're between the bands it might just feel like an above-average windy day.

Which begs the question: are actual industry experts criticizing this move, or is this just social media seeing context-lacking ragebait pop up in their feed and reacting accordingly?

It is remarkable how well this tactic gets under their collective skin.

For those of you who think this is just ineffective trolling, please consider how much Trump and his regime blindly obsess over stuff like this. And how much time they'll have to waste combatting it rather than comfortably implementing their next horrible bone-chilling policy. And how much time Fox and the rest of the right-wing media machine will have to spend addressing it rather than sanewashing the next horrible bone-chilling policy the regime puts out. It certainly won't topple the regime singlehandedly, but any effective effort to stymie them should be pursued right up until it no longer works.

He does kinda suck, seemed like the writers got a little too try hard to be cool and poetic. It's a really strange DLC because it completely shits all over the roleplaying aspect of the game and forces a backstory on a character that was supposed to be a blank slate.

Has a lot of cool items tho, so at least it's worth playing.

Of course the kick in the pants was that they couldn't fully commit to giving the Courier a backstory with Ulysses because they didn't want to ruin the player's RP aspects, so we ended up with this wishy-washy "you delivered a package once that inadvertently destroyed a community and your carelessness became this guy's sole misplaced motivation to destroy everything and you don't remember any of this because bullet to the head or something."

Now with the benefit of 14 years' hindsight, I think I can say that LR's story would've been greatly improved if Ulysses had simply zeroed in on your faction choice as motivation to be your nemesis; the mechanic / most of the dialogue was already there, just needed fleshed out a bit. It wouldn't have been stellar, but it also wouldn't have left a bad taste in the player's mouth the way the vague halfhearted forced backstory did.

I'm pumped. The odds of this playing nice with NV's established lore are slim to none, but hell with it, S1 was good enough that I'll probably still enjoy this in its own right.

I'm still hoping we get Super Mutants and that Marcus or another high-functioning 1st gen is the viewer's introduction to them. Lucy sees her first one and immediately screams and shoots, and he brushes it off with "knock it off, human."

I wanted to get a big glass case for my lego sets but my apartment is so tiny

right now the few I have are all on my closet shelf

Ikea has Billy Oxberg glass door bookshelves for around $200 apiece, which was a steal when compared to comparable glass cases / shelves when I was shopping for them. They happen to be just right for fitting standard square baseplate sets (you can fit 2 1/2 baseplates longways per shelf, which was perfect for my modular building collection), though you will have trouble fitting larger sets.

The hurricane ruined my cabinets, but I managed to salvage the glass doors and individual shelves for whenever I can get settled again and reorder the cabinets.

If you do end up buying these, make sure you anchor the top to the wall as instructed; these shelves are incredibly front-heavy with the glass doors and have a high risk of tipping over when you open them.

No. It was part of that cursed run of awful mid-00's threequels: X-Men 3, Spider-Man 3, Pirates 3...Revenge of the Sith only half-counts because the two movies that preceeded it were also shitty. There may be worse movies out there, but it was still a major letdown, and it's unlikely that any amount of memetastic so-bad-its-good revisionism will ever change that for me.

Incidentally I think the moment towards the beginning when Harry gets cartoonishly clothslined on a web was the first time I remember thinking to myself "wow, that CGI effect looked fake as fuck."

If I have to say anything nice about the movie, it's that Thomas Hayden-Church was pretty decent.
