One, I have no interest in Biden losing or Trump winning to prove some point about Bernie. That's absolute nonsense and not the lesson anyone would take from such an event.

Second, y'all better hope you're right because if you're not, you're going to be directly responsible for dismissing obvious warning signs. I recognize the danger we're all facing here and that's why I'd rather be safe than sorry.

Granted, the game accounts for this because the game still needs to happen, but you're introducing the hypothetical removal of the Courier as a factor, which causes all sorts of unforeseen consequences. At the very least the Courier is a major accelerating factor for the 2nd Battle of Hoover Dam, so it's safe to assume that things would move on a slower timeframe without their involvement. It's stated more than once that Lanius loves Caesar but hates his Legion, so if Caesar dies or becomes incapable of leading before the Legion is ready to mount their offensive, it's no guarantee that Lanius would be able to lead effectively or even be motivated to lead without Caesar's guidance.

Caesar's death via brain tumor is imminent without the Courier's involvement, so like Murph said the Legion's victory would be short-lived even if they did succeed.

There's a fine line between motivational fear / anger and hopelessness. It's a doomer's goal to give you a long series of gentle nudges into the latter.

Interesting. I can count on one hand the number of classic games from my childhood that I've lost over the years, and SML + SML2 are among them (I came to this realization a couple years ago when I was itching to replay SML and couldn't find it).

I wouldn't waste precious braincells trying to figure out who TC is. He was JAQ'ing off in a controversial topic the other day, is now posting doomer polls and bending over backwards to proclaim their legitimacy with a faux air of being calm and collected, and finally started into both-sides'ing in his last couple of posts; he's completely interchangeable with the dozen or so 'enlightened centrists' who believe their schtick to be non-transparent.

Not even the 'broken clock' excuse justifies praising DeSantis and the Florida state legislature over something like this. CE never fails to disappoint.

Hard Mode makes a big difference, to the point where ALBW took a major leap on my franchise favorites list when I got around to replaying it.

I'm torn on the new El Dorado fortress. I still own the original, but it was never one of my favorites, to the point where I apparently threw out the baseplate at some point in the past.

My chief misgiving is that I hate basic yellow for architecture. But it looks great otherwise, and I really want the ship that comes with it. A far-off goal is to have a seaside Castle Town with a bustling harbor, and I want to buy up as many ships as I can (to the point where I'm seriously considering that upcoming Triwizard Arrival set despite not really caring about HP sets).

Karma always felt like something that Obsidian was contractually obligated to bring back in NV simply because it was in Fallout 3; like in FO3 it's still hilariously half-baked (especially compared to the faction rep system), and you have to go well out of your way to get and maintain Evil karma considering that you get easy and plentiful Good Karma for killing certain basic enemies like Fiends and Feral Ghouls.

Funnily enough, that's kinda what Monty Python did - they ran through a ton of weird names for the show like 'The Toad Elevating Moment' and 'Owl Stretching Time' before finally landing on 'Flying Circus,' and they ended up using most of the unpicked names for episodes / sketches later on.

Amazingly, this might be the most disappointed / angry I've ever been on this site over lack of pics.

The ending had a decent-enough payoff that it was worth it to sit through the movie at least once.

Is the Opera House performance something that can be altered if you switch on the 'original' soundtrack in the menu? I didn't strictly hate it, but I might end up doing that next time if the game allows it.

I was about to buy it and realized the GBA version enhancements like extra summons, Dragon's Den, and Soul Shrine aren't in the Pixel Remaster. Big mistake. I guess the definite way to play FF6 atm is the Steam version with mods to make it better.

My opinions on the GBA extra content are mixed. Give me a version that has the four new Espers and a simple boss rush of the overpowered 8 Dragons + Kaiser Dragon and I'd be happy.

How does it hold up to the original?

FF6 is my all-time favorite video game, so I had every reason to be hyper-critical of it; bearing that in mind, it's about as good a remaster as I could've reasonably hoped for. The remixed songs range from great to gorgeous ("Searching for Friends" in particular goes fuckin' HARD), the updated battle backdrops and effects are very nice, and they finally fixed that syncing issue with the ending cutscene vignettes / soundtrack that's plagued every previous rerelease of the game.

My only real nitpicks are some changes to the Opera House performance, and the remixed Narshe track is a bit muddier than the original.

I may like the designs of Scyther, Electabuzz, and Gyarados more, but Starmie was one of my OG six Avengers way back in gen1.

For me it's just one of those omnipresent annoyances that I don't hate, but would rather do without. Kinda like Majora's Mask's countdown timer: it's implemented very well, there's plenty of ways to work around it to the point where it shouldn't inconvenience you in the slightest...but it's still there, and still annoying.

Sounds like she's still the same awful person just with the 'tradwife' peddling removed.

It's sad how prophetic the villain Syndrome turned out to be; shallow techbro motivated by spite and money, intent on flooding the market so that everyone (no one) would be special.

100 years from now, when every movie is made by AI and look as seamless as a movie shot with "real people", we'll look back at this like people look at silent movies and say "people were really entertained by this and thought it looked good?"

The difference is that, while people marveled at and were entertained by Trip to the Moon and other early films in their heyday, no one in our current era (other than the techbros who made it) will marvel at or be entertained by this AI movie. Why? Because it's not a new form of media. Photography and film were new, exciting forms of media. 3D animation was a new form of media. Apart from the 'fever dream' aesthetic, AI isn't creating anything new; it's just repackaging and regurgitating what already exists, taking an already-oversaturated market and threatening to flood it to biblical proportions.
