I liked it alright vanilla, but modded is a pretty solid experience.

I wish they (and Skyrim) would fuck off with the load order size limits on console, though.

Let me create my frankenbomination, damn it, the only life I can ruin is my own.

Problem is that the reason they imposed the 150 mod cap in the first place was because they were incapable of programming a framework in which scrolling through your LO screen wouldn't crash half the time when you had more than 150 mods (it was originally uncapped when mods first became available).

Though they did uncap the limit for Skyrim as of the Paid Mods Round 2 update (or at least set it to 250), and changed it so that .esl's now function properly on consoles. Pity that Fallout 4 never got that kind of attention.

Yes, very much so. It's not without its glaring flaws and it can't hold a candle to NV (though I never once expected it to), but surprisingly enough it actually succeeded in correcting a lot of the criticisms I had with 3, almost to the point where it felt like Bethesda was actually listening to my feedback.

I played this one on release and never found it particularly difficult. Yeah I had played previous games so I knew the basics and could also identify when an extra level up could make a difference.

There are a few walls like the crab or the boss who claims he will take your shadow, but other than that it's not much worse than any other igavania

I'm sure the challenge factor will go down on repeat playthoughs, but at the moment I have to strongly disagree; I don't remember any post-NES CV title being as all-around tough as this one.

It reminds me a lot of Hollow Knight in terms of challenge factor (Path of Pain and some of the more ludicrous DLCs notwithstanding). Of course the key difference there is that the eponymous Knight moves like the quick, nimble little bug he is, whereas Shanoa moves like she's packing depleted uranium in her boots.

Ironcially this was one of my bigger gripes with Bloodstained, which I also recently played through for the first time. Does Igarahsi have a thing for plodding female MCs or something? Incidentally I now have the benefit of seeing how much Bloodstained lifts directly from OoE in addition to SotN and AoS, most especially in the near-identical Rapidus Fio and Accelerator abilities, which for me were game-changers in both titles.

Well I finished all the villager sidequests and beat the game, but not without considerable abuse of the rewind feature. If it weren't for the testicle-pulverizing difficulty it would easily land a franchise favorite spot right after the big 3 (Super VI, SotN, and Aria of Sorrow). Gameplay's a lot of fun and aesthetically the game is top-notch; I didn't realize that some of my favorite franchise tunes originated from this game. Hell, I didn't even recognize my all-time favorite Castlevania track Ebony Wings until I finally had that 'oh shit! I know that song' moment after listening to it for ten minutes. I still prefer the kick-ass heavy metal of Harmony of Despair's rendition, but the OoE version is still darn good with its organ melody (linked for comparison).

Cloud does have access to both "Kill" and "Stop" spells, as well as ways to banish Wolverine to another dimension. I think teleporting your opponent to an empty dimension is a "win" even if Wolverine doesn't die.

Cloud could also cast "Petrify" or turn Wolverine into a Frog and then just put him in a jar and keep him there forever.

Wolverine would easily count as a boss fight; thus in true FF fashion, he'd be immune to most if not all status ailments and insta-death effects.

Of course the eternal caveat of 'separate the art from the artist' is how much a creator's bigoted / offensive views actually bleed into the art itself. IH certainly isn't going overt with it - otherwise this wouldn't even be open for discussion - but he does have the means to subtly nudge his viewers towards his personal way of thinking through the stories he chooses to tell and how he presents them.

One of the things that always struck me as peculiar about his vids (even before the scandal broke) was that, when it came to the subjects of his vids, no demographic got the benefit of the doubt more than white males. Tumblrinas and furries host their respective failed conventions and possibly pocket some of the funds? Let's all point and laugh at these degenerates! A televangelist bilks saps out of millions and ruins dozens of lives with his failed doomsday prophecies? Now now, let's remember he was a flawed man who truly believed in what he was preaching, probably. A woman has a steamy affair with a disgraced cruise line captain? Let's hyper-analyze all the instances of her being a complete idiot! A lunatic steals a limo, drives it backwards down the Las Vegas strip, and holds a plane hostage with a bomb threat? This man is my personal hero! (Yes, I know this one was probably a joke, but dammit I had another prime example to put here when I thought about this earlier but I can't for the life of me remember it atm).

Obviously this isn't across the board - Billy McFarland certainly didn't get any sympathy in the Fyre Festival vid - and assuming they were depicted fairly and accurately, the vindications of such people as Sean Murray and the Balloon Boy's father can hardly be considered bad things. But by the time the Man in Cave vid came out and IH more than once went out of his way to handwave the behavior of Floyd Collins' father, it had definitely become a pattern.

Please tell me that finding all 12 is enough to advance the game and you don't have to complete all their sidequests beforehand. If I have to go through the Albus fight again and get lockec into the bad ending a second time, I'mma be chucking controllers.
