Korea's democracy was literally born from people dying opposing a military dictatorship and within the last 10 years successfully completely bloodlessly deposed an unfit president while you post from a fucked up failing democracy that voted in its own coup plotter because groceries got expensive. Shut up about the quality of Korea's democracy.

If Korea's democracy can be subverted at one man's whims, it is by definition a weak democracy. America is also a weak democracy, where the people willingly voted themselves into a dictatorship. Most democracies are weaker than we'd like to think.

I'm just saying that it seems a bit odd that South Korea has been touted as a beacon of liberty and democracy for years, the far superior alternative to North Korea, and then it can become a dictatorship at the snap of one man's fingers. Which means it never had a strong democracy to begin with.

If South Korea is now a dictatorship, what makes them better than North Korea in any way?

For me, soundtrack is one of the areas where DKC3 is clearly weaker than the others. It's enough of a tonal shift that you can clearly tell it wasn't composed by the same person as the other two (and it wasn't)

There is no reason to say no to this unless you already have, or reasonably expect, to exceed $10 mil in lifetime earnings. Most people will not.

In the US alone, it's probably Obama, since his election is what led to one of our two parties going entirely off the deep end, which gave us Trump and the current state of US politics. But I imagine most of this will be put down to Trump himself.

Did anyone else play the GBA remakes? I think they're actually pretty underrated. They also give DKC3 a new world and an entirely new soundtrack (by David Wise), so DKC3 GBA were the last new DKC levels made by Rare.

Yeah, something always felt off for me in DKCR and TF, I think it was the atmosphere. The SNES trilogy had a fantastic atmosphere. TF is probably a better game in most respects, but I will always prefer the original trilogy; DKC1 was literally the first game I ever played, so it will always be one of my favorites.

Also you can play as the other Kongs in TF single player, but only on a harder difficulty and after 100%ing the game I think. Which makes me wonder why they didn't just allow that from the start.

The future scares me with how captured the youth are. Given the younger generation is not known for their critical thinking or self-reflection skills, it may be very difficult to get them to ever turn away from the far right.

We need to pivot towards economic populism. Ignore divisive social issues as much as possible when campaigning (but don't abandon them in policy), and focus on how badly the economy is going to implode under Trump and Musk. Don't allow them to twist the narrative to blame Democrats who aren't even in power like they're going to try. Relentlessly remind the American people that the GOP are to blame for the state of the economy when it collapses, and promise a solution that will bring actual change, not a return to Bidenomics.

I'm almost certain that this is not only Trump's desire but Musk's and other billionaires, they want this country to die because it means during the rebuilding stage they can control what the country will be like going forward effectively write the legislation to entirely serve their interests and make it legally impossible to undo it, they don't care how many have to suffer and die for it, being a sociopath is par the course for them.

They are hopefully in for a rude awakening when they realise that no one will have to care what they think anymore once the nation has collapsed

We know the GOP cheated at least to some extent: just look at what Musk was up to in Pennsylvania. But I think the country is stupid enough that he would have won even without the cheating.

Im not saying Ukraine should agree to all Russian demands. They should never agree to demilitarisation, or all the lands Russia is asking for. But I do think they should open negotiations and be willing to, for example, recognise Crimea as Russian (they havent controlled Crimea for over a decade anyway). If Russia would agree to that deal, Id say Ukraine should take it.

Its not Russian propaganda to acknowledge that the war probably isnt winnable for Ukraine. In an ideal world Russia would back off and Ukraine would get its land back. We do not live in such a world. Im thinking about how to minimise deaths with the options realistically available.
