It doesn't matter what kind of a zealot he is, Israel cannot continue the war if they run out of weapons. Israel cannot continue to exist if the US stops its unconditional support for it. Israel may as well be owned by the US, and Biden has apparently forgotten this. All he has done up to this point is give Netanyahu a blank check.

Kamala was in lockstep with Biden before he stepped down. She spurned Netanyahu when he addressed Congress. Two weeks ago she talked down to pro-ceasefire protesters, saying they want Trump to win, and just last week she was met with more of them and said she supports a ceasefire. The pressure works.

They absolutely, categorically do. Again, Biden could make a phone call at any time and it would be over. He is refusing to and there are very few Democrats putting any pressure whatsoever on him. They pressured him to drop out and there is zero reason why they can't pressure him here as well.

I'm sorry, I didn't realize those candidates had no agency whatsoever in the positions they hold. We've already seen this pressure by protesters work several times to soften Kamala's position on Gaza because, as it turns out, she does actually want to win and is capable of changing her policies to that end.

This polling is from May, and the genocide has only gotten worse since. A majority of Republicans support a ceasefire. This is what the country wants, and they are stubbornly refusing to do it. The Democrats will only gain voters by ending it.

Democrats seem to be the ones comfortable with Trump winning. The onus is on them to win over their voters and this is an enormous section of voters they're continually smiting. What I'm trying to say is that from the outside looking in (again, I'm not an American), I cannot tell what the protestors want in this action. If this is a general cry for the US to stop supporting Israel in any way, why are the protests escalating against the Dems? Like... the party that would actually be likely to give a shit in the first place? I guess you could argue that trying to protest the Republicans on anything is a lost cause since Trump is a legit monster, but this seems like an odd tactic to take? Alienate the base that is far more likely to actually work with you and what your cause is?

And let's make no bones about it, every single American citizen who cares about what is happening to Palestinians will have to vote for the Dems. There is no other option.

The Democrats are in power and are not taking action. They care about winning the next election. You threaten their ability to win the next election by pulling your support. They, caring about winning the next election, do something you want to gain your support (stopping Israel from mulching toddlers). You get what you want, so you support them. It's not complicated.

If their sentence is going to be over during (or before) the term they're voting for, I agree. Otherwise, nope; they're removed from society for that term, they shouldn't get to influence it either. Once they're released, they should get that right back, though, and I'm perfectly fine with extending it to voting on a term where they will be released mid-term.

Loitering is a crime because Jim Crow era politicians figured out you could disenfranchise black people by criminalizing completely normal behavior, arresting them and only them for it, and preventing prisoners from voting. Stripping the right to vote under ANY circumstances is ripe for abuse. Homosexuality used to be a crime; would you have stripped a person of their vote just because they're gay?
