Golf Story (Switch)

At first, I was a bit disappointed with the golfing thinking the mechanics were just lacking from other top-head golfing games, but then I eventually realized that they are perfectly fine, and it is course design.

Cheekybeak Peak and Blue Moon Dunes are legitimately great, but good lord Bermuda Isles and Oak Manor are abysmal while Wellworn Grove and Tidy Park probably would have been good courses if they weren't marred by unnecessarily terrible gimmicks.

All in all, I liked it, but the courses were extremely hit or miss.

Cat Quest seems decent enough so far. Combat is basic and functional, but I'm hoping for more interesting enemies to keep it from getting stale. I forgot that I already owned the Oddworld game, so I hope to remember to download and try it later.

What is Game of the Month Club?
Game of the Month is a community project open to all B8ers where users share, discover, play and/or discuss a select few games every month. The games featured each month are chosen by YOU the users (and Lady Luck)

The Basics
- Each month will usually feature three games that were chosen via a random drawing from a pool of games that users nominated
- For each game you beat, you get a cool point on our just-for-fun standings as well as a nomination for next month's randomized drawing
- In order to receive the point and nomination, you must beat said game within the calendar month
- If you beat one of the current month's games in the previous month, you can apply for a "recently beaten waiver," but you will only receive a point and no nomination should you do so
- Drawing for next month's games is usually on the 25th
- If you periodically keep us posted on your progress and/or talk about different aspects of the games, then everyone will think you are super awesome!

Nomination Rules
- You get one nomination automatically each month
- You receive additional nominations each month for every featured game that you beat
- Each game you nominate has to be unique from all other nominations and cannot include a game that has already been selected for GotM
- Each game must be a standalone game that can be acquired and played on its own (aka cannot be DLC/expansion that requires the base game)
- Nominations only carry over if you beat a featured game after the drawing for next month's games but before the end of the month
- You have 9 supports you can use throughout the year. Your only limitations are that you can't support your own nomination, and you can only use one support per game per month

The short version: I'm going to allow you to choose to keep Bayonetta 2 as next month's choice or opt to swtich to Golden Sun: TLA, whichever game you would prefer to play (from the sounds of it though, that is Bayonetta).

Longer version: Each drawing day, I do all of these in one fell swoop:
1. Verify nominations and supports
2. Add them all to an alphabetizer
3. Add the alphabetized list to a randomizer
4. Announce the winners on Discord
5. Search for what systems the games are available on, as well as if they are on Game Pass or on sale (totally forgot to do that last part by the way)
6. Announce in the topic the selections with available systems and the nominators
7. Post full randomized list for transparency
8. Update my master word doc and spreadsheet
9. Update the public spreadsheet

It is possible that when I familiarized myself with the noms and their nominators so that I can congratulate them in the topic that I focused on Bayonetta 2, so if it was the case that Golden Sun TLA was selected that I immediately associated it with you and then reassociated you with Bayonetta 2, and thus announced the latter as the selection.

Ultimately, I don't know if I messed up a copy/paste or the selection, so the fairest solution to me is for you to pick whichever game you would rather play.

I may have had a copy and paste error somewhere and somehow. I don't have the random.org post anymore, but I know it was Bayonetta 2. Yeah, I checked my history, and the generated list from random doesn't have a saved URL or anything, so I can't verify how and where things went wrong. It's possible that I additionally screwed up my inputs for the list (and thus Cat Quest was not actually the third of the non-chosen), but there's 32 entries, and by my count, that is correct.

Ignoring that Paper Mario was selected in the main draw, Cat Quest was the third of the non-selected games and March is the third month, so that's why it was selected. It's a dumb and novel theme, so I doubt that I will stick with it. I could do a hodgepodge of one-off themes this year.
