It's less that it was cancelled and more that the director decided to end the series here against the studio's wishes.

From what I heard at the very least the director wanted to take a break from the series.

I think it's just platformers that aren't the heavy hitters like Mario and Sonic don't do well these days.

Also in terms of reception it was absolutely insane and frustrating to fully complete. If you just wanted to beat it it was fine, but then it wouldn't be worth full price at that rate.

They're so secretive about Tears of the Kingdom that they're using the first game to build hype. Wow.

I honestly don't know what to think. Like, I'm sure the game will have tons more to show, but this could also be taken in a kinda concerning manner. Maybe it's meant as a countdown for people to buy and catch up on Breath of the Wild before diving into the sequel?

I mean, I can believe Kirby's stomach is actually just a mini black hole, so anything he eats gets transported somewhere else.

And I think they need to stop with all these remakes anyway, RE4 still looks & plays fine-- I can understand wanting to redo the early games with those clunky tank controls, but enough is enough.

I think the only other game that I would like to see remade is Code Veronica. After that, yeah I agree there shouldn't be any more remakes.

Didn't feel rushed to me, but I didn't play the game.

That's really the crux of it. The game allows the main characters and the ones they meet more breathing room, but I honestly think the show was a great adaptation regardless, if they were able to make it seem not rushed to those who didn't play the game.

He just got the "Project We Love" recognition on Kickstarter, so his project's gonna be advertised throughout the website to gain even more support. Really glad for him.

He's on the final stretch of making the movie but he's literally out of money at this point. He started a Kickstarter for it and honestly? I very much want to fund this for him. It looks insanely good for being made on his own budget with a small team.

Well yeah, lol. It's because I still found a lot of enjoyment out of the new games.

I find it kinda funny, but also is a testament to just how good those old games were that remakes/remasters of them are so highly rated.

You don't have to worry, really. Anything they did cut (which was minimal) was replaced with something new. Not like RE3R where it cut out significant portions of the original game entirely and made it feel like it was missing something.

I wouldn't believe anybody who says there's tons of content cut from RE4R, that is simply a lie.
Edit: Well, I guess if you count side modes. IIRC Mercenaries won't be there at launch and Separate Ways isn't on there.

I don't really like internet drama but from what I've seen I side with Charlie. Sneako sounds pathetic. Literally a cuck who encourages people to try it, threatens to beat up or shoot people he thinks aren't a threat to him, advocates for bullying to "correct bad behavior" but can't take it when it's thrown back at him.

I can't speak on the episode as I'm waiting to watch it with my mother on Thursday, but everyone Joel kills in the hospital segment of the game is either a soldier hunting him or Jerry. Some of these posts read like Joel brutally murdered the receptionist and a dozen patients on his way to Ellie. Is that what happened in this episode?

Nah, all the people he killed were soldiers and a single doctor. It's just the show kinda frames it in a slightly distorted way to drive home that maybe he's not making the best decision. I find it hard to describe.

Possibly, but I dunno if he would've risked such a stunt and have her hate him if she fully knew what they were gonna do to her. (I know she eventually figures out and has a fight with him over it but still. Decisions made in the heat of the moment.)

Yeah. In the franchise nobody is ever inherently good, evil, or morally correct. They all have their demons and the Fireflies fucked up by not giving Ellie her choice. I'm of the mind that they absolutely would've been able to get a cure otherwise and Joel denied the world that (IIRC Neil Druckmann confirmed as such), but the Fireflies should've been considerate of Ellie.

Especially when Marlene tries to convince Joel of "what would Ellie choose?" I dunno Marlene, why didn't you let her choose before putting her under? If Joel knew that Ellie knew and went through with it, he probably wouldn't have gone on that killing spree to rescue her.
All this is why I love discussion about the games and their plots. Everybody has different opinions about it because of how many different angles there are to consider.

Well, the plot is that Mario and Luigi find themselves in the Mushroom Kingdom, Bowser kidnaps Luigi, Mario has to rescue him with the help of Peach. As basic a plot as your normal Mario game.

...uh, this version of RE4 is a remake in the same vein as the RE2 and 3 ones were, only this time they're not removing content.

Looks interesting, it's a sci-fi horror game with Souls-like checkpoint mechanics and a Metroid Prime-esque scanning and lore system.

This one's wildly different. Bayonetta's usually like DMC.

I know it's not a good movie but I had a good time watching Wild Wild West.

This. He speaks a good message but you still get comments like "but he's a Republican so it doesn't count." Kinda is proving his point about prejudice.

I'm pretty sure he publicly denounced the hateful stances the party has, and has fervently stood on the "mask up, vaccinate, lock-down if necessary" stance during the pandemic. He's also changed a lot since his youth so I'm not sure if it's tasteful to bring that up.

Top of my head, all I remember needing the Light Suit for was the ones you need to go into the Dark Aether water for. 1 in Agon, 1 in Torvus. I think there might be one you need Light Suit for to go through the Ingstorm thing, in the Dark Temple Grounds. Its an artifact or an expansion/e-tank. Oh and 1 in Sanctuary Fortress that you need use a light teleport for.

It is technically easier to opt for Light Suit before doing the collection simply for the fact that you can teleport around to Energy Collectors but beyond that, it isn't super essential.

so a solid 1/3 maybe 4/9

The teleporters are probably why I thought the Light Suit was needed because I thought that was a pretty helpful thing to utilize.

All you need is Dark Visor in order to see the Cache

Yeah I think a lot of people don't really like the Artifact hunting part. Having one last mandatory "explore the world for key items before the final encounter" is an obvious padding choice. That said, in Prime 1 you can get around half (or more) of them as you play the game if you can figure out where to look. It's Prime 2 that takes it to its worst extreme, you literally can't get any Sky Temple Keys until you get the final powerup (Light Suit).

At least in Prime 3 they toned it down and even made it so that you don't need all of them.
