Shit, it really does sound like this game sounded way too good to be true.

I feel like the reason this patch came so late is because getting authorization to patch games is probably a hell of a process from the publisher. They probably had to fight tooth and nail to get this out.

...It almost makes me feel like no-lifing a fighting game to git gud and have a marginally better chance at winning a million than trying the lotto.

Metroid Prime itself is a bit of an oddity

Like, it's supposed to have arrived on Tallon IV via the meteor, yet it also makes sense for it to be a specimen that had escape from the Pirates, what with it being a Metroid and all (albeit a horribly mutated one).

Yeah, they just kinda sloppily tried to fix things in Prime 3 where they said "...yeah, special kinds of Metroids are born on Phaaze and some of them mutate into the Metroid Prime." That just leaves a hole on the Metroids themselves, because they're not supposed to be anywhere other than SR388 and whatever the Pirates take with them, and the Pirates only recently discovered Phaaze.

If Retro is aware of it maybe they'll use Prime 4 to explain it. It's apparently going to be about Sylux and him stealing a Metroid from a Fed base so it could be relevant to answer.

Again, one can't accurately have an opinion on something unless they've experienced it themselves. Reviews can help get an idea, but it's just an idea. This is something I've always stood by and it gets constantly proven despite how some would disagree.

My mind is being blown at the logic displayed in this topic.

Yeah they rewrote the Chozo Lores after the original GC version. Some of the Pirate Lores too, mostly talking about the Metroid Prime.

Loved this episode. Was amusing and heartbreaking, loved the teasing to TLOU2 with Tommy's town looking like it was in Part 2 along with a brief character who looked/seemed like it might've been a Dina tease.

Probably because you made sense with your story assessment and they don't have anything to "um actually" with you, lol.

But yeah, TLOU2 is not nearly as bad as its reputation precedes it. The way I feel about it is great gameplay, okay story (not garbage, just okay; I preferred the first story), excellent attention to detail in environments and great acting.

EA. They were basically like "Dead Space isn't selling as amazingly as we want it to" so they forced the devs to put in microtransactions, more action, and co-op in an attempt to sell to the common denominator. It even begins as a generic cover shooter fighting against other soldiers so it makes you wonder what kind of game you booted up.

The game had other issues (I thought the story sucked for one) but those were the main things that bogged it down. If Motive ever gets around to remaking 3, I hope they're able to do it justice without all that awful crap in it. Dead Space 2 was excellent though. Linear, but had great setpieces and level design with a gripping story.

That hasn't happened in like decades. There's been "popcorn flicks" probably ever since movies were a thing.

That's what they did with Prime though.

The rumor going around is that Prime 2 and 3 are coming later but are only getting resolution upgrades and maybe a texture cleanup. I really hope not, I would love to see the rest of the trilogy get this amount of love and care put towards remastering. I wouldn't even mind paying $40 for each either.

It's been proven at every job I ever worked at that working your ass off doesn't get you anywhere no matter how hard you try. They don't increase your pay, they don't give you bonuses (those are reserved for the "big guys"), they don't consider giving you a leadership position even though you express interest and apply for it...nothing. So if working within my wage is doing "bare minimum" then that's what I'm doing.

In fact, working hard does the exact opposite. All they see is saving money, if you do the work of 2 or 3 people they'll consistently schedule you by yourself and expect you to do that amount of work all the time.

The current thing, if they're to be believed since they're acting like a Retro dev, is that other companies will use the template that MP1R set in order to make 2 and 3 Remastered so that Retro doesn't have to divert attention from Prime 4.

Yeah, HBO just straight up gives more budget to their original TV shows. Funny considering how much money Disney has, but yeah.

And Samus looked like a DOA character in Prime 2, that design kinda sucked. Especially with how out-of-place she looked in the environment.

Ah, that's no fun. Sequence breaking is one of my favorite things to do in MP1. Might consider getting the remaster, anyway, but I'll stick mostly to randomizers with the original release.

Early Space Jump is still possible with a precise triple bomb jump, at least.

How does this remaster control?

Apparently there's like four different control schemes? There's Classic (which is the GC controls), twin-stick, motion aiming, and a mix of motion+classic.

Anyway, $40 was a bit much at first, but honestly they completely re-did all the visuals in this game. Everything has new models, greatly improved textures, new lighting and special effects...and I think even extra content (mostly just dioramas to view 3D models, may be more?). I went ahead and bought it.

No. There's nothing I can do about the price, and I only really pay it if it's games I really want. TotK is one of those.

According to an art book, the original idea for Abby was for her to get to know Joel and get close to him before betraying him. This would mean a lot of time spent between the two of them, and was likely scrapped because it wouldn't work as a game. But as a TV show...
