Yeah I think the status effects are the worst thing added to this game, I guess they wanted to disincentivize stacking a party of damage dealers but you still have to guess correctly on which status healing spell to equip since only a small handful have one that heals all of them

I also miss the way damage could overflow so if you did an attack with massive damage to an enemy the next two or three that you come across would instantly die

I have a hard time believing you can get many cards off of Adam Warlock with only 2-power cards. He makes way more sense in a Cerebro 3 deck that has Bast

While the rubes and normies were all in on Flo, those with real taste were enjoying Erin Insurance, an unproblematic queen who wasnt afraid to depict the realities of the insurance industry

you have to complete every series quest, a handful of which require you to finish the song on Ultimate. You have to clear a song with all Criticals. You also have to complete a Perfect Chain on all 5 "Top Hit" songs for a single day, which I believe also means you only get one chance at each because they lose Top Hit status after the first time you play them that day

Man it's fucking weird that Dancing Mad, the longest song in the series, has one of the shortest tracks in this game

Got the Endless mode unlocked, it's actually pretty mean. You can't just clear the songs, you also need to complete whatever quest it gives you for the song, and these get difficult very quickly. You have three Lives and lose one each time you fail to complete a quest. You HAVE to have a specific team built up for the challenges it starts giving you by round 7 or 8, for example "activate 40 abilities in this song" or "deal 2500 summon damage to one enemy"

I WILL beat this 12-rated Battle on the Big Bridge on Ultimate

You mustve missed the first month of the game, one of the better combos was Nightcrawler on Bar Sinister, move one of them and play Blue Marvel there on turn 5, then move the other 3 and play Onslaught there. Back then Onslaught worked exponentially if there were multiple of them at a location, so you would get millions of power

yeah this is a known bug. Whoever had priority gets to draw and the other doesn't. Also worth knowing, though it wasn't the case here and is intentional, you can't draw if you have Widow's Bite in hand even when Lamentis or Attilan tells you to

The only thing that counts as played that isnt you directly putting the card on the board from your hand is Mysterios Illusions, because otherwise it would be obvious which of the three is the real one

I use the buttons at the top exclusively for navigating the store because I heard there's no confirmation on those things

Ive seen it in videos, and there was a match where my opponent would have had it but I Enchantressd the Power Stone on turn 6 when they played Thanos

Wave and Doctor Octopus in the same deck is usually a sign of Galactus, but if you have one you usually don't play the other. Guess they just didn't draw the man himself

You are misremembering, none of those were in it. Only character that I think is gone is Auron #2, his Kingdom Hearts version

Just played the Advent Children version of One Winged Angel on Ultimate and the game did something I didn't even know it was allowed to do!

it was on phones first, then WiiWare, then PSP (with improved graphics from the previous two versions), and finally the 3D version

So Bartz seems like a potentially busted character, Job Mastered + Mimic gives +300 stats

the 3D version of TAY definitely looks like shit, the 2D version is fine since its basically just FF4

They would probably need to make Killmonger worse in some way before people start picking Elektra over him

I've been seeing some talk about a save-corrupting bug that can happen if you quit the game after deleting summon stones from your inventory. The current advice is that as long as you play another song after deleting the stones, you can avoid it.

Aww, a little detail I liked in Curtain Call was that when you were playng Rufus's Welcoming Ceremony it would display that TV Ratings percentage like the original game, but it's gone from this one.

Remember when the last game had character DLC and for some reason they never released Krile in the US

No idea if thats relevant data lol, but it doesnt seem too prevalent when you put it that way.

I only play Expert if my characters are low level and I've already failed once or twice on Ultimate.

The RPG stuff makes a little more sense once you unlock the Endless mode. Even still you can mostly ignore it if you want to!

These are part of why I switched to exclusively using the left and right triggers for gameplay rather than buttons, it was the only way I could keep it straight in my head. The biggest one though, was the times when a short hold also had a regular note at the same time as the start and end of the hold

Only decks I ever see Iron Man in are Negative and Spectrum

If I remember right a few months ago in an interview Brode said Shang-Chi was the card with the worst win/usage ratio (Human Torch was the inverse) but youd be hard pressed to find anyone who thinks that card needs buffed. (In the current high-level meta game its probably doing a lot better than back then anyway)

The hardest Ultimate song for me so far was one of the Mystic Quest ones, Hill of Destiny

Save eggs until you get a summon stone with EXP boost effects, that stuff all stacks

oh, here's a good tip for new players that I don't think the game ever says

diagonal inputs only require one of the two cardinal directions involved. For example, a down-left arrow will be cleared with just a Down or Left input. I find it easiest to simplify anything that's not directly up or down into just a left or right input.

Ah, so when you get a character to level 99 you don't loop them back to 1 this time. They can just level up more beyond 99 to increase their "star level." What that does, I won't know until I actually get one of them leveled up again, it takes considerably more EXP.

There's obviously some embellishments, but Henk Rogers is one of the more influential figures in video game history that people don't talk about much so it's cool for there to be a movie about him

Its actually completely consistent; if it says cards that cost X that means cards that will cost X to play in their current state, while if it says X-cost cards it means cards that under normal circumstances cost X to play.

middle location was previously Lemuria, thats how I got Iron Man into Kyln, the Psylocke I played on 2 revealed on 3. Should be obvious this was my Negative deck, thank god he wasnt a dead draw for me out of Lamentis. I cant remember exactly how the opponent reached this state on Turn 6, every explanation I can think of doesnt work. But at any rate once they had played Mary, Red Skull, Death, AND Zola off of a Lamentis situation I had emoted I dont believe you. more than once. You can probably do the math here and see that I won in the end:

edit: oh yeah, Lamentis cards getting destroyed counts as reducing Death cost so she was 0 energy, that's how they were able to play it out like that.

Theyve added animations for things after the fact before, it will probably have one eventually

If you have Aero, its definitely the ideal choice for that slot. If youre winning a lane and She-Hulk will be enough to win you a second one, play Aero in the lane you dont care about and, provided theres room in that spot and theyre not playing stuff that buffs the other lanes, youll win more often than not
