there's a pickup truck in my neighborhood with this sticker on it and I'm struggling to understand what it means. my initial thought was that it's a right-wing way to criticize "woke" people. But that doesn't make sense because Freddy only kills people in their sleep, so staying awake, or "woke", would be the only way to stay safe. So is this saying you should remain woke, or you might die? or does this have nothing at all to do with politics or "wokeness"?

good call, I forgot to mention that. when I got my mortgage in 2011, my payment was about $1100, while the average 2-bedroom townhome was renting for around $900. now the average 2-bedroom townhome is up to like $1400, or $300 more than my entire mortgage used to be. now my mortgage is $0 and the only reoccurring costs i have to live here are property taxes and maintenance.

consider keeping the apartment, and saving the difference for a future house down payment. owning a home will largely insulate you from ever rising housing costs. your landlord will raise your rent every single chance. think about how much you're gonna be paying for rent in 5 years, 10 years and again in 20 years.

i'm sitting here with my house paid off while i see so many people struggle with rent going up every year.

the last 30 minutes was the worst part, IMO. every single person on the squad lives just long enough to fulfill their one, specific task and then are conveniently killed immediately after. it's like the most cliche "heist movie" script imaginable. and I thought the Vader scene was lazy fan service, it did nothing for me.

i've had mostly good experiences with it. two times I booked a room months in advance, only to have the host cancel on me a few weeks before the event. that's never ever happened with a hotel.

Hershey's is testing out a plant-based Reese's Peanut Butter Cup. That was one of my favorites before going vegan but I've gotten used to various homemade workarounds. I probably won't buy it regularly but I plan to give it a try, if I can find it in my area.

Yea Burger King is one of my go to fast food places. Along with Chipotle, Subway, Panda Express, Taco Bell.

Chic-Fil-A is a decent choice with the kale salad, waffle fries, and fruit cup but I don't usually go there unless my parent-in-laws want to go there.

Just about every other fast food place in the US is useless for vegan food.

Chipotle is my savior when I need a quick bite. do you have Bibibop near you? that place is fire and has great vegan choices.

but i love you, vegy. i think we all do.

i like them a lot, and i eat meat/regular whoppers. i often go for the impossible instead, now days.

random update, but my last grocery run included only vegetable and plant based stuff. not necessarily on purpose, that's how it turned out, but tasty stuff regardless.

Thank you for justifying me only knowing how to drag and drop in SSMS.

for basic stuff, i don't blame you. I use JPA (Java annotations on Classes) to do as much of the SQL as I possibly can. Spring's Repository stuff is pretty wild and thanks to that, I can almost do a whole application without writing any SQL myself.

tofu IS good stuff. all these people out here complaining about how expensive meat is nowadays while I buy blocks of tofu for $2.49 and cans of beans for $0.65

in my 20 years of doing software, i've learned that putting complex logic into your queries is almost always a bad idea. access your data in SQL, and implement your business logic with an actual programming language.

if you find your queries are leveraging the pseudo-programming concepts found in SQL, it's probably best to re-think your design.
