I mean both options are looking for myself:

• Going back gives me a raise and higher position, but may burn some bridges at my current department, and
• Staying gives me more growth and expands future opportunities.

Our corporate structure goes:
Site
7 Directorates
4-10 departments in each directorate
4-8 divisions in each department
3-5 groups in each division
10-20 people in each group

I started at Group A, and climbed to Engineer 3. I got a lead position and a promotion to Engineer 4 in Group B, within the same directorate (but different department). Group B is responsible for the disposal work literally after what Group A does, so it was a good transition of work and a good opportunity to learn cradle-to-grave of this system.

10 months in now, and a lead engineer in Group A is leaving. Group As manager is reaching out to me, and is essentially telling me if I want it, I will get it. This will come with a promotion as well (to Engineer 5).

So what do I do?
Go back, get the promotion, and potentially burn some bridges in my current department, and look like a job hopper?

Or stay, and learn all what I can, becoming an expert on all things with this product line (cradle to grave), and become more marketable to potentially get a higher position later?

You alert in different ways, such as activating EAS texts, alerts, or having helicopters with bullhorns and spotlights to tell people to evacuate (this tactic has been used elsewhere).

You then record lessons to be learned from this tragedy and act on it, such as having different type of sirens and installing sirens throughout the island and not by shorelines.

The website says the sirens can be used for a variety of reasons, not that it will or shall be used. Then, later bullet says that if you are in a low laying area, evacuate to high grounds; the later bullet are explicit instructions, where as the earlier bullet is a suggestion.

If the people are trained to hear sirens and immediately think tsunamis and they just go inland without thinking (because that's what training does to you), then you don't activate the sirens. It's not like you can see the tsunamis coming either.

Regardless, even the website says the sirens have a maximum of 3400ft radius, which isn't enough for those in-land (as the sirens are located literally by the shores).

Literally in the same site, they recommend people to go to higher grounds when sirens ring (which in this case, would be towards fire):

• When a siren tone is heard other than a scheduled test, tune into local Radio/TV/Cable stations for emergency information and instructions by official authorities. If you are in a low laying area near the coastline; evacuate to high grounds, inland, or vertically to the 4th floor and higher of a concrete building. Alerts may also come in form of a Wireless Emergency Alert.

I watched the press conference where the emergency response people said that the sirens are located along the coastlines and people are trained to go to higher ground when the sirens go off, which would have an undesirable effect since the fire was in the higher ground. That was why they decided not to activate the sirens.

This seems just like bs propaganda being spread to shock for views.

I was talking with this older guy, and these were his opinions about people cosplaying (sans professionally):

• Dressing up as a character, except for Halloween, is a sign of mental illness.
• Most people that cosplay believe in the multiverse, and they believe that in a different universe, they are that character. So they have to channel that energy to get to that universe, which makes them cosplay.

I was flabbergasted. I countered with a thought that most cosplayers do it as a hobby, that they find making their costumes fun. He double-downed on this, saying that their parents failed them if that's the case, because they never grew up.

Starting to troll, I asked about his thoughts on furries. He shared an anecdote that he was on a beach and saw a little boy running around in all fours and a tail. He said he was disgusted at how the boy's parents allowed it to happen and how the world is becoming fucked- apparently, in Europe, there's a story of a little girl that identified as a cat, and the school punished other kids for not correctly identifying this girl as a cat; the school apparently even provided litter boxes for the little girl to pee and poop in.

Most D&D campaigns come with the stipulation/presumption that your character will willingly participate in the adventure for one reason or another. If you made a custom character, you can consider those reasons your own. Point being, you don't play D&D as someone who isn't a willing adventurer (unless you want to be an unwilling adventurer who still adventures for some reason or another)

Oh. I was expecting like a backstory like Witcher or a personal reason to do these things.

I'm sure there's a plot-related reason the game is pushing you there, but it is the biggest city on the Sword Coast, and the namesake of the game.

Pros:
*Fantastic character story telling.
*Great world building.
*Amazing voice acting and believable behaviors of characters and NPCs.
*Many ways to play the game, which actually meaningfully changes the game (like you can pick between x and y, and if you pick x, you literally lose an entire game worth of y; thats amazing that devs are willing to throw away all the work and effort that they spent in y).

Cons:
*Main storyline is almost nonexistent Im in Act II, and current task is to get to the tower; theres no rhyme or reason to do so, except a bunch of people are telling you to go there to solve their problems. I never played BG1 or 2, so that might be why theres some loss of context, but even simple thing like why is everyone wanting to go to Baldurs Gate? Whats there? Is never even touched on or answered.
*Game plays soooooo slow. Characters move so slow, and combat is so damn slow.
*Most battles are unnecessarily stacked against you, and you cant just blow past them. I get it- you want me to think and use tactics (I have the high ground!). But if its like that for almost every single freaking battle, it gets boring and tedious.
*I dislike the inventory system.
*I seriously dislike the clicking. I play this on PC and ROG Ally, and controller playing is so much better vs clicking.

So far, I like Witcher 3 better.

I asked him what about those Walmart bicycles for like $100, and hes talking as if those bicycles will literally fall apart the moment I ride it.

Can I just buy a $100 bicycle and upgrade to a nicer one should I want to be serious about it later, or what?

Used to hand wash once a month, but after married and baby, we just subscribe to a local car wash place for our daily driver, and wash the other cars as-needed.
