Although this one might contain the Trainwiz puzzle dungeon I've been hearing about. Might be the first thing I actually consider buying since Rare Curios (and even then I just used up the freebie points).

Always wanted to play 1 and 2 after liking 3 and LOVING New Vegas, but I can't get into that old school RPG gameplay.

I couldn't get past the tutorial in 1, but somehow I finally made it over the learning curve in 2 and started to enjoy myself. Last milestone I remember was recruiting the 'Grampy Bones' guy. But then I temporarily lost interest, and shortly thereafter my PC died; all my other computers were and continue to be Macs, so I haven't had a chance to give either another shot.

Incidentally, Gun Runner's Arsenal was a godsend in that it actually gave you something to do with your money past the midgame.

I love the laser rifle, especially with a scope so you can vaporize dudes from a mile away.

The only problem with Energy Weapons in NV were the perpetual ash / goo piles. I don't know how much effect they had on performance longevity, but the real issue they create is that they still count as a corpse. See, a game cell can only hold a certain number of corpses (15 iirc). When the limit is crossed, a random corpse(s) is removed to bring the number back down; that NPC is permanently removed from the game, and won't ever respawn. As you might have guessed, ash / goo piles count against this limit, but never get removed. So if you like to farm high-population areas for exp / loot (most notably the areas around Vault 3) and start racking up a bunch of ash / goo piles, eventually the number of respawning enemies will dwindle down to nothing permanently.

Tl;dr - don't farm enemies with energy weapons that leave ash / goo piles. The Gauss rifle and Heavy Incinerator are my go-to farming weapons on an Emergy build.

I begged my poor parents to take me to see it in the theaters, and I didn't know what to think. Once it came out on home video I kept watching it trying to figure out what was wrong with me for not liking it. I was a Mario movie, how could it be bad? I didn't immediately hate it, but I definitely grew to hate it.

Honestly? I love Happy Gilmore, but it was the beginning of his long, lazy decent into playing average joes who just react to stuff. At least in Billy Madison and Waterboy he was still playing characters who were just as delightfully weird as the weirdness surrounding them.

EDIT on the other hand, there's still Little Nicky, so him playing an actual character isn't always a golden ticket.

Batman Returns is so much better than 89 it's not funny.

I'm inclined to give this stance a fair shake, but I never liked Devito's slovenly horndog take on the Penguin. Though I can't claim that TAS had already fixed the 'proper' representation of the character in mind, since apparently the series first aired several months after Returns. And Max Schreck's charred bug-eyed corpse was major nightmare fuel as a kid.

Other than that, I guess I wouldn't have a strong opinion either way over which was better between the two flicks.

There is some merit to the notion that certain aspects of Batman '89 (Prince, the Joker's henchman outfits and over-shoulder boomboxes) make the film very dated, while Returns suffers considerably less from that as far as I remember (haven't seen Returns in several years).
