It's also a great way to find out if you're getting ripped off. Since one can claim something is wrong is x, when it's completely unrelated or you know is functioning because others claim it's y and not x.
Ofcourse that requires some self knowledge and cross referencing various encounters.

Kinda like when you go to the quick change place and they claim you need to replace the old filters in your car when you just had the very same place change them not even a week ago. It's always great when they have moments of 'they found us out'

As someone who was rooting for gigabyte, that was damn hard to watch. Though the comment about seeing flying saucers in the LA area was funny.

Seems shatter's weapon was acting up again like the witch doctor fight... so that was disappointing, though it did get a decent hit into the wheel area of minotaur, but seemed to just be the void area where nothing happens.

I also feel bad for breaker box, was hoping to see it do alright, but it just burns itself out or get critical hit'd. At least it was less brutal to watch than gigabyte.

You gotta remember that Fox only became a channel in '86. They didn't have the budget that more established networks had. They were the underdog channel with edgy new shows like Married with Children, The Simpsons, and Cops.

Probably it then, like the cameras were slightly less quality or the editing less sophisticated. Not saying it was bad, but for some reason I could never shake off the feeling that it was older for some reason. Guess that just adds to its charm.

I like how they're angled specifically so they funnel at the entry way. Notice how there's no opening towards the front of the center. It's angled so you can walk in and literally see everyone at a glance. Or maybe it was done so that if you're doing your buisiness and someone enters you can look at them and give a grunt of dominance as you drop a plopper.

It's probably due to looking at or seeing the person who just entered for the pooper's safety. The trade off is now they gotta let everyone freely judge their posture. I cannot think of any other reason outside of maybe stall sex deterrent.

Even though I know why it's called such, it still throws me for a minor pause when I see .45 acp... automatic colt pistol. The one used in the 1911. I want to instantly associate it with full auto, not self loading. It's due to the shape and how the extractor works, instead of just plopping them in a cylinder like the other design for revolvers.

Was wondering what the hell was going on with science channel. They didn't even show episode 8... said it was for aug 7th, well I sat there aug 7th and it was no where to be found.

I wasn't on earlier and just managed to watch bots last night due to an awesome power outage of nearly 3 hours. Turns out a tree knocked power lines together and blew a transformer, so for about 20-30 mins could sit from the window and watch flaming sparks pour from a tree/line as a firetruck waited for the power company to sort it. It was much excitement. and happened right after bots.

I don't know why, but none of the fights super stuck to me. I'm sad to see breaker box yet again burn up and the nelly vs deep six fight had me instantly saying 'oh no...' because I knew it probably wasn't gonna go well for nelly, but totally didn't see that result happening. Though it did prove my one concern, that deep six can't really self right and even if it functions correctly it's going to send itself flying in reaction due to opposite effect.

Prior, during, etc the subzero fight they constantly called it subzero. Fight starts and my dad says 'eh it's not as fast' and I didn't fully understand why until it was the replay where they mentioned bronco and that's when I find out. "wait they aren't bronco?" ... He thought it was bronco the entire time, ignoring the 'subzero' everywhere. I know they look similiar and there was a joke about it, but I got to see the confusion first hand.

I don't think I could bring myself to just walk around with one. Feels bad enough to just have someone see you own it due to potential theft attempts, let alone tote it around like a handbag letting anyone caress the sight adjustment or trigger.

If the first or second doesn't work, why the hell does he have a third in the back asking to be taken by someone. 1-2 is understandable, but that extra one adds the concern. I still say that scope looks like a 5-8x and seems overkill/unwieldy if indoors or within 50-100 meters. I guess he hopes to defend himself out to 200ish at minimum.

At the very least it puts out two signs. 1. 'don't mess with me' as a deterrent 2. I'm your first target to neutralize if you're gonna shoot the place up

Yes, yes you absolutely can 100% legally own a tank and a rocket launcher in the US.

Also dear god how are you this uninformed about guns?

Not only that, I was just reminded there's some in the US that have fully functional cannons and even manufacturer their own shells to fire.

Ironically I don't think it's road legal to take them on the street (armored cars are ok), but in europe you can. There's a few vids of them around, and was reminded of this.

Because when I go grocery shopping I need a 13-14 ton tank with a 75mm 12x shell autoloader.
You never know.

For reference, I know for a fact there's a few shermans and m18 hellcats (one had an accident killing the owner and a customer 2ish years ago due to a misfire), a few T-34-85's, 1 leopard 1, 2 chieftans, 1 152mm howitzer all functional. These are just in the US alone. There's several road going light tanks in the EU.

Was just reminded that Arnold Schwarzenegger owns an M47 patton, so add that to the list.

The electronic speed limiter on vehicles varies. For cars it's often 155mph, for trucks/busses it's around 55-60mph. It's to prevent massive stopping distances in vehicles weighing up to 90,000 pounds from going ballistic and having even crazier stopping distance. For cars it can vary, but there is such thing as autobahn cruising and it could also be due to stability reasons or tire speed ratings. Tires are rated for a certain speed, above that they can blow out. Same applies to aerodynamics and some super cars that are convertable have restrictions when the top is down/off as it can blow the door windows out.

This is the reason why you often see mercedes-benz rocking 500-700hp engines or even some others. They may be bricks, but cruising at 100+ effortlessly is what they were intended for... ofcourse can't really do that in the us.

You can legally own grenade launchers, hell I even have access to one right now. Fully functional and legal (except in CA), I'm far from the only one with it either as there's thousands in circulation. The real matter is getting ahold of the munitions for it and not blowing yourself up with it. It's just too much effort and risk.
For an M79 thumper for instance, there's fletchet shells and HE shells. Imagine an over sized 40mm shotgun. As for HE? It's totally legal to fire them, but you need to make special arrangements in certain areas, can't take them out of said area, and it's about 250 usd tax each on top of the cost for the shell.

Most rocket launchers are inert or already used... can't think of many (that are actually sold to civilians) outside of the M72 LAW which is a one off, but iirc someone accidentally ended up with a live one in their garage thinking it was inert, blew 2-3 people up.

Not gonna lie I thought this would be about Remnant: from the ashes. It basically is with how the loot/upgrades work, the health, checkpoint, shortcut opening, and even has damn fog gates for bosses.

The only real difference is it prefers guns over melee, with melee as a secondary/alternative.

I'll reserve my full judgement of it until playing it and I am interested in it, but once I saw it compared and then all the actual similarities I couldn't help but notice them... such as fog door for boss battles and even the weird boss intro cinematic and checkpoints being bonfires made out of rock.

I'll probably play it, because I haven't had a proper 'hate myself' type of game lately.

Not sure why you would call instead of letting your insurance company handle it.

Based on what I've experienced in the last 2 years, if the other person has insurance then you contact their insurance company and tell them their client goofed(or you goofed). Then after some description they tell you to use an app or get someone to estimate it. Be careful taking a random check as it can be their final. In my one instance the actual repair was 5300 and they only offered 2400ish so it'd be about 3k out of our pocket or to go crawl to our insurance. In that case our insurance company went after them to make them pay the extra amount.

You go to yours if they don't have insurance or you feel you're getting snubbed... like repair shop says 4k and they only offer 2k.

If you go to yours first they'll probably tell you to go file a claim with the other person's company.

Damn. Basically when those ants die via electrocution, other bugs come to help fight off the attacker. So they also bite down on the electrical device and die themselves. Keeps happening until the entire colony electrocutes themselves or until the device is short circuited.

Yeah, it reminds me of that one scene in Mom and Dad save the world with the light grenade or a quote from Tremors 2. "You mean they've been acting so smart because they're so stupid?"

The electric device can range from game console, computer/laptop, tv, breaker/fuse box, water well pumps, etc. Basically anything with a current going through it in some form.

There was a video where someone got them in their laptop and brought them home. They didn't realize it or understand the why. Literally a case of 'you should probably just destroy the laptop and your room' because they were starting to roam. Don't know if he solved it or got over ran.

Termite swarmers are damn annoying, as is having your house eaten. I only picked them because ants aren't there.

Ants are usually ok and go about their thing. There's one in particular I'm absolutely terrified of that isn't bitey

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rasberry_crazy_ant

In short they're drawn to electrical equipment/devices, build colonies in them, die and destroy the device. Displace all other ant species in the area and are immune to fire ants. They're also harder to control/remove than fire ants. They also run around 24/7 as if you've blown on them in a random frenzy as their default.

That's why seeing them in Ant Man bothered me so much. They're hoodlums

This is just sad, but she did kinda drag it onto everyone else. The boy really didn't help either, but at least I can somewhat understand the protective aspect in that one instance.

I wouldn't want to deprive anyone of my usually pointless, but sometimes useful/helpful inputs.

I'd say let it be, if it's in the corner doing no harm it's usually fine.

It could be worse.
Twice now I've had 2 different spiders of the same type build a web in my bedroom doorway. You know how annoying it is to go through a door you've gone through countless times only to suddenly have a 10 inch diameter web with supports spanning the entire door and it's just below face level?

>:( I forcibly relocated them, but the one in the window is ok.

Because I don't walk through the window.
