Adam Roberts is really interesting and has had some great sci fi novels, led by Stone. Heinlein is fucked up but has several novels worth reading, led by The Moon Is A Harsh Mistress. Asimov is remembered fondly for good reason. Same with Larry Niven. My favorite author, Anthony Burgess, is much more of a satire author but wrote an incredible sci fi novel called The Wanting Seed. Dune is worth reading, although it's pretty damned weird for how popular it is. Vonnegut's science fiction is brilliant, but everything the man ever did is brilliant. --- All generalizations are false, including this one. |
