Zangief I say is High Fodder. I've already gone on at length about discounting Guile's disappointing result in CBX - basically Guile is a stagnant character who sucks and hasn't been popular since vanilla SF4, and only has a few old memes going for him. I also would not put much stock into the favorite Street Fighter poll. Bison didn't do that well and he's still a decently strong character. Plus Zangief is a grappler, so he isn't a widely-played character in SF.

Gief is a staple of the series and has a lot of games under his belt, and is memorable for his over-the-top Soviet stereotype antics. Plus his quotes from Wreck-It Ralph and the Street Fighter movie Quick change the channel!

Agree with Low Fodder for Whispy Woods.

For Popo I will say Mid Fodder (barely). While Nana got beat pretty badly in her one appearance, I feel like Popo will be a bit stronger. He is the leader of the duo by default, and a big deal is made by players winning with solo Popo, often referred to as "Sopo". This is used even when the single Ice Climber is Nana.

Chuck Norris I will give Mid Fodder - Chuck Norris jokes are ingrained into popular culture and everyone knows them despite their age. Related joke threads will probably be out in force for Chuck's match on B8. That said Gfaqs isn't quite old enough for Walker Texas Ranger to factor in for him.

Agree with Mid for Chie.

Also agree with High Fodder for Link the Goron. The match name will list him as just "Link", which should be enough to get him to High Fodder.

It is pretty close for Paine, but I will agree with Low Fodder. She doesn't have the memorability of Yuna or Rikku in FF X-2 due to her incredibly reserved personality, and has few stand-out moments in the game. She also does not have any major roles outside of X-2. I can't find anything to help establish how popular X-2 is on the site, but I doubt many people think of it as anything beyond "decent".

Agree with Mid Fodder for Yoshimitsu. He is a memorable character from Soul Calibur, but he never had much of a narrative impact in that series or in Tekken. Plus I don't think his Tekken appearance matters much to Gfaqs.

Bruce Lee probably wouldn't beat Hitmonlee, but I will still say Mid Fodder for him. He has a legacy of many copycat characters in fighting games including Liu Kang and Fei Long and is a cultural icon despite how long he's been gone. Plus I think Bruce Lee's appearance in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood put him and his legacy back in the public eye recently.

Agree with Low Fodder for Q*bert. He's a classic character that has been forgotten in a way Pac-Man and a few select others haven't. The play rate for his games on the site is probably terrible too. And 29% on Dante in 2002 is not actually that good since only DMC1 was out at that point iirc.

we did not rank Dancin', but I used him as an example for LAW Fodder as he was obviously extremely weak judging by his CB9 showing. Also there wasn't really a good character to use from CBX. Draven's x-stats might fit the profile, but the heavy anti-voting he took in his match against Ammy make him a questionable choice for a LAW Fodder example imo.

Kobe Battle was a thing

Anyhow I agree with Axem's rankings. Though I do think that Kobe might be worth Mid Fodder for a while. His legacy is in the spotlight following his death and I think there will be no lack of tributes to him in the coming years. Kobe was no MJ but he was kind of the "It" player of the 2000s and the Kobe! meme kept his name in popular culture for many years.

No one cares about Wart and Fou-Lu doesn't have the memorability needed to be worth more than LAW Fodder, being a one-game villain from a dead RPG series.

Strong Bad - Mid Fodder for being an icon of early internet culture that plenty of people will remember fondly. I'm not sure how much his game adds to this but I don't think it will be enough to move him a tier.

I don't see Banana Waddle Dee having a significant departure in strength from the vanilla Dee, so I say Mid Fodder.

Mid Fodder for all. I agree with the reasoning for 9S and Rambi. Ashley I think sneaks into Mid Fodder on account of being a major character in the strongest RE game on the site, and being attractive. I think that overtakes the "annoying damsel" anti-votes she will get from some fans.

Mega EXE I will say is a Midcarder. He doesn't resemble OG Mega in the same way that X does which will likely cost him a few rungs of strength, but he still has Mega Man name along with a beam sword, so he should still do ok for himself. I'm sure there are some fans of the Battle Network series still lurking on the site that will vote for him, but I think that potential voter base is smaller than what the Legends series would get.

Low Fodder for the other 2. Vulcan is a pretty minor villain in the MGS series, and I don't think the protagonist of Bastion will have enough fan vote support to break Low Fodder. It is a pretty niche game despite definitely having a fanbase on the site, and I think it's somewhat telling that it didn't make the 2015 Games contest.

Agree with Mid Fodder for Ron and Low Fodder for Smithy. Ron never seemed to be particularly well-liked, and is only remembered for being the most prominent Weasley in the series and ending up with Hermoine for some reason

I almost want to go low fodder for The Avatar, but I will agree with LAW Fodder. The series is too old and obscure to be worth much at this point. Aside from EA releasing some short-lived FTP games to cash in on the IP name, the series has been dormant since 1999.

Agree with Low Fodder for Luke - he's infamously polarizing as a protagonist. Mid Fodder for Siegfried since I think most people are aware of him being Nightmare and will vote accordingly.

Mid Fodder for Dark Pit for being recognizable to people who haven't played KI Uprising, and also being in Smash. He'd easily be low if not for smash though.

I'm probably going to be a bit biased on this rating, but I will give Sheena High Fodder. She's up there with Kratos as one of the most popular characters in TOS, and also has TJF going for her. Yes that puts her on par with Lloyd depending on how you interpret his CBX performance - but I would argue that most of Lloyd's strength comes from being the identifiable protagonist of TOS rather than people liking him as a character. So I think its reasonable that a well-liked character from the same game could match him.

I'm not too concerned about Sheena's bad performance against Jill back in 2006. Jill seems like a pretty bad matchup for Sheena due to both having similar profiles and filling the same role as a fan-favorite girl from their respective series.

Dimitri I will give High Fodder since Three Houses is still pretty popular on the site going by the GOTY polls. Will likely fall over time to mid.

Rex should have enough to make Mid Fodder as the protagonist of a fairly recent JRPG a lot of the site has likely played.

Agree with Mid Fodder for King of Red Lions and Fodder Line for James. Red Lions is an interesting character but not one I see being a favorite on Gfaqs. James is a fan favorite for his humorous antics which make up for his lack of TJF though there was that one time. . .

I'm pretty sure I said mid fodder for Heavy and I will also give The Spy Mid Fodder. I think he is at least as memorable as The Heavy, if not moreso, due to a combination of his personality and how vital the Spy is to the overall gameplay experience of TF2. Meet the Spy is a good showcase of his personality and also provides some great quotes that still get brought up to this day.
