For Chibiterasu I will say High Fodder. Okamiden isn't that popular but Okami is and Ammy has been a solid midcarder in all of her appearances. So I assume that the smaller and cuter version of Ammy will have some strength as well.

I will also say Jasmine is High Fodder. She's a Disney waifu from a prime 90s movie that almost everyone has seen, which also had a live-action remake recently. Jasmine even has her own version of the "slave outfit" a-la Leia.

Low Fodder for Korra. Legend of Korra is way too recent of a series to have any sort of strength on Gfaqs.

Mid Fodder for Greninja. Black and White may not be that popular on the site, but Greninja itself is still decently popular in Smash and arguably the strongest post gen 3 starter.

Low Fodder for Minsc. Baldur's Gate hasn't been relevant in a long time, and the 2015 performance of BG2 does not suggest it is that strong of a game.

Very close on Kurt Cobain, but I will give him Mid Fodder. He is probably the best-known rock musician of the 90s and Nirvana is still a very popular band today. The rampant theories and documentaries about his death also help keep his name alive even 25 years later.

Low Fodder for Arisen. Another customizable character who will probably end up with the most boring design possible for their match pic.

Would like to know the reasoning behind Rogue being Mid - I see her as being a big enough fan favorite that she can make High regardless of not having recent relevance. Also reminder that Rogue was incredibly popular in the original X-men cartoon. That said, I think we did rank Nightcrawler too high so I will nominate him for Re-ranking.

As for Blaziken I don't think it will be nearly weak enough to be low fodder when the OG Ruby and Sapphire are getting into nostalgia territory.

Blaziken I will (barely) give High Fodder. I think the Cyndaquil line overall is more popular than the Torchic line just because gen 2 is more popular than 3, but Blaziken itself beats out Typhlosion imo. As a favored final stage starter Blaziken might just be the strongest post gen 2 pokemon (minus Lucario which has Smash).

Rogue I say is High Fodder. She's one of the most popular X-Men, but suffers from the same problem as Storm in that she hasn't been relevant in the movies for 10+ years. Apparently a lot of scenes featuring Rogue were cut from Days of Future Past and restored in a director's cut named The Rogue Cut. I'm not sure how much that speaks to Rogue's popularity though.

Low Fodder for Marnie. I can't have confidence in a human Pokemon character from the most recent game to have strength on Gamefaqs, even if she is a fan favorite.

I'm not sure how the New Kid will end up looking in his match pic, being a fully customized character. He'll have the iconic South Park character design either way, but I think he'll end up as Low Fodder. Fans of the game likely will not see him as -their- New Kid.

I will go with Low Fodder for Celica. She's probably a good waifu, but she doesn't have TJF and I don't think Fire Emblem Echoes is a strong enough game to elevate her a tier.

Mid Fodder for Beat. I mean he really looks like Goku, and his strength will be cemented further if he gets a Super Saiyan match pic.

Low Fodder for Nameless One, bordering on law. The only reason I don't put him at law is his relatively unique design, and the fact that fans of Planescape tend to LOVE it and praise Nameless in particular as a compelling protagonist.

Low Fodder for N. He was arguably mid fodder when he appeared in 2013, but I don't think his game has aged very well on Gfaqs. Black and White are just one of the many mainline Pokemon games that got left out of GOTD, which can't be a good sign for N.

Mid Fodder for Sauron. As long as he gets a good pic with his armor I think he'll get votes as the iconic big bad of the biggest movie series of the early 2000s. Though he could end up dropping if he gets an Eye of Sauron pic.

Mid Fodder for Alyx. She would probably do a bit better right now, but I just can't see a VR game having much of an impact on Gfaqs even if it is for a long-dormant series the site likes.

Low Fodder for Jeff - I can't see the non-Ness Earthbound party members having much strength.

Edith Finch I will give Low Fodder, barely. She's the title character of her game which seems to be tightly focused on her personal, dramatic story. So most of the games' fans probably really like her as a character. The game does not show her face directly, and as far as I can tell, the only usable match pic for her is a self-portrait from her journey. Luckily it's decent so I don't think this will hurt her.

Piplup is Gen 4 which doesn't help it at all, but it is a starter and I think it qualifies as a "cute animal" which Gfaqs tends to like (see Missile). It was also prominent in the Gen 4 anime, which I've seen a lot of people praise as the best anime season. I say Mid Fodder.

Omega I have to say is Low Fodder. If I'm not mistaken he hasn't had a playable appearance in a non-Mario & Sonic Olympics game since the DS version of Colors. This gives him the same problem as Blaze in that he simply doesn't have enough recent relevance to have strength. He also isn't much of a standout character even when he is playable, and I think the fact he debuted in Sonic Heroes hurts him too. A lot of people see that game as the beginning of a string of terrible entries in the Sonic series.

Getting quintupled by one of the strongest Noble Niners isn't the end of the world for Isaac, and I'm not sure that Sandbag leeched very much from Samus. He's still Low Fodder though, since Dead Space hasn't been relevant for a while.

Zuko would absolutely beat Aang - he's the most popular character from Avatar and is constantly talked about as having a great character arc in the series. However the fact that Avatar premiered in 2005 hurts him quite a bit on Gfaqs. The site demographic was in their teens at the time and thus "too cool" to watch Nick anymore.

I will say Mid Fodder for him, since I think a not-insignificant number of voters would have watched Avatar later on due to the high praise the series gets on the internet.

Agree with Low Fodder for Marx. I think people just don't like him in general for being a scumbag in Super Star.

I completely forgot how far out of your way you had to go to catch Marill in gen 2, and it wasn't even a good pokemon. Still Gfaqs is old enough to remember "Pikablu" and the general hype surrounding early gen 2 reveals, and Marill should be one of the best-known Gen 2 pokes despite the terrible decision to hide it away in an optional cave. I will give Marill Mid Fodder.

This is a topic to rate the contest strength of potential newcomers in the current contest environment.

I will pick the characters to rate and discuss for each day from user nominations - whoever the 3 most nominated characters are at that time. If there are more than 3 I will pick randomly. You can nominate any number of characters at any time, but you cannot nominate the same character twice.

All characters who were present in the 2018 Character Battle will NOT be eligible. Otherwise you can nominate any character that has appeared in video games; even comic book characters. This will exclude real-life athletes who have only appeared in long running sports series, however I will accept those who have their own games such as Shaq. I will accept nominations for iconic gaming duos too, if there is a compelling reason for both characters to be linked (either co-starring in a game ala Banjo & Kazooie, or always appearing together like Callie & Marie from Splatoon).

Each day will have a separate topic, and nominations will carry over. As far as actually rating the character's contest strength; I ask that users rank a characters potential strength with one of the following qualifiers - LAW Fodder, Low Fodder, Mid Fodder, High Fodder, Fodder Line, Low Midcarder, Midcarder, High Midcarder, Near Elite, Elite, LAW Tier (capable of beating Link). I will average all the ratings given to a character to come up with their final ranking. I have included a highlighted entrant from Character Battle X on each tier of the strength rankings below, to provide a baseline for each.

Note that LAW Fodder is meant to be a tier reserved for the weakest possible characters to put into a contest. A character will only be placed there if at least 3/4ths of the voters for that day agree on the LAW Fodder rating, and no ratings above Low Fodder are given. If either of those conditions are not met, the character will not be eligible for the LAW Fodder tier.
