Christian Bale is playing Gorr the God Butcher in the new Thor movie. This is absolutely the most hype casting I've ever heard. Holy shit that movie went from "this will be fun" to absolute must watch night it comes out.

so Gorr is a good choice? I basically dont know any characters introduced in the last decade.

these are literally both of the same bugs I've ran into, but add in a floating plate in the club at the very beginning of the streetkid route.

anyway, point is I'm playing on PC, so I think it's a coding issue more than a systems issue at this point. I'm sure these will be fixed within a week or two

ok I just had my first really weird glitchy moment where a police car like... its supposed to be skidding to a stop, I think, but it just weirdly teleported into frame? It was quick, but really jarring.

also had a floating cell phone, but whatever.

Its running fine though, looks good, nothing remotely like that pre-patch base PS4 footage. This may be totally ok on PS5.

yeah the pushback on this is weird.
the initial reporting on it was a writer who legitimately has epilepsy and experienced a seizure during the game just doing a PSA about the risk. She was enjoying the game and wasnt angry at CDPR about it, she just wanted to warn people about the issue.

but if you look at the Kotaku in Action thread that Ulti definitely got his info from, theres weirdos being like the media are so mad about trans stuff that theyre making any attempt to attack the game !!!. their brains have melted so much that theyre convinced a totally reasonable warning is some kind of hit job.

Do you actually think the reviewer read the EULA, saw the warning, and then decided to lie and say it wasnt there? Or is is such a uselessly non prominent warning that a totally reasonable reviewer didnt see it at all?

I heard from someone that gamers only care about whether or not a game is good and not political stuff, so it seems pretty weird to me that KiA is more interested in talking about trans peoples reactions to the game than they are in talking about how CDPR is putting out a game with huge technical issues and not providing reviews copies of the console versions at all. That stuff should be way more relevant to their interests.

I like to pick on Game Informer but their review is particularly bad. It reads more like a preview of the game, providing absolutely zero new information and nothing we don't already know. I could literally write the same exact review right now, without having played the game. in the giant bomb video, Jeff B mentions a rumor that the new gen versions are delayed into 2022. that sounds crazy, so its probably crazy, but also it may be more than a few months before those versions come out.
It seems like they were really scrambling at the end here to just get any version of the game out the door. Considering the state of what they actually put out, I could definitely believe that their attention is all on fixing the versions theyre releasing now and not on putting out the PS5/XSX versions.

or hey maybe they fixed everything and after the day 1 patch there will be no problems

youre not part of the affected group and you havent even played the game, so what basis do you have to completely dismiss the criticism of a trans woman who has played the game? Maybe the people with relevant experience actually have a valid point.
