Hearing all the members of the media advocating a return to theatres and they're only argument was "but, it's an experience" while I'm sitting in front of my 4k flatscreen that I can watch from my toilette, seemed a little tone deaf. I would not call listening to babies crying while I had to pay $40 for a hot butter-like delivery system, an experience I want to go back to.

Depending on how old the theatre is, the screen is likely dirty as all hell, where at home, I know the screen is clean because I just gave it a weekly once over.

The only reason I still went to theatres was the Imax laser pre-show (the amount of energy they ran through the room was intoxicating and could cure any bad mood I was in) and they have stopped doing them.

Fresh produce is generally a pretty safe bet, as is fresh meat and more local dairy options.

Not so much anymore thanks to vertical integration. The family farm is almost non existent in this day and age, with the corporations owning the land, the seed, the fertilizer, the pesticides, the livestock, the feed, the antibiotics, and the supply chain to get the product to market. Even if the farmer has somehow managed to retain their land, they are under onerous contract terms that they will one day default on.

I thought they were shooting season two and three at the same time because of COVID. I could be wrong, I know there was several productions that were shooting two seasons at once, I just thought The Witcher was among them.

As hyped as I am for No Way Home, I'm more hyped for Resurrection.

After the first Matrix came out I found a leaked synopsis for Reloaded and the script for Revolution online, and I still went and saw them in theatre. I had the movie score playing on a loop for the longest time.

This season definitely drew on the games for some things; when they showed an ariel shot of Oxenfurt for the first time, I recognized it immediately.

Freaking awesome, can't wait for the third season. The Wild Hunt is coming!

Geralt is using more signs and potions, there is a fight scene in episode 6 that has the brutal slo-mo finishers from the game, learning a lot about Ciri and what led up to the games.

I agree, but they still stand a better chance in the midterms then any third party candidate, and are still the better option then the seditious Republicans.

You can push for a third party all you want, but the hyper polarization of American politics has no room for a third party; it will only split the vote in favour of Republicans.

The biggest selling point of the Libertarians has been gobbled up by the GQP and the Green Party is too invested in the healing power of crystals to be taken as a serious mainstream party.

The Democratic party does not have the ability to be ruthless and is going to lose the midterms as a result, then Donald Trump wins the Republican nomination again, wins the 2024 election, (because republicans have made it illegal for democrats to vote, while giving themselves to overturn the results they don't like) and becomes president at noon on January 20th, 2025.

The first thing Joe needed to do was electoral reform, even if a bill gets passed next near it will be to late for it to stop the coming midterm bloodbath.

The American was a a controversial bit and they ended up dumping him for Abbie Eaton, they also stopped "killing off" every guest, it was a dumb bit but I found it hilarious; they have moved from the studio format to the "specials" format, and though I liked the studio bits and conversation street, I think it was the right call.

Heck yeah!

It's going to have to wait until I'm done with season two of The Witcher.

I get it, I really do. Up here in Canada we have the NDP, they came close a exactly once and then Jack died when the cancer came back. And the conservative party gets off with pointing out how Bob Rae's NDP government DESTROYED ONTARIO (read saved it from the financial collapse of the early 90's) with Rea Days (he got the civil service to reduce their work week from five days to three so he would not have to fire anyone) and how it was bad and no one should ever vote NDP, only Liberals and Conservatives, and for some reason the voters still believe it.

There is a provincial election in Ontario next year, currently the Conservatives are in power, the NDP the official opposition, and the Liberals were wiped out in the last election; currently polling has the Liberals and Conservatives in a dead heat with the NDP in third.

-30 is fine, it stops snowing at -27, it's when it hits -50 with the additional -30 windchill that it becomes unlivable. My boots are rated to -120, but they stop being toasty at -80.

At that age, I remember finding my dad's Heavy Metal's, National Lampoon's, and Penthouse Forum's. Then I found the Alternative Sex Stories Text Repository and the Kristen Archives online, memorized the url so I wouldn't leave a bookmark, and learned how to use Thumbs Plus to scour the cache for any incriminating evidence after. (Clearing the cache would have been a red flag back then, so deletions had to be surgical)

Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind is great if you get the chance (anything Studio Ghibli is fantastic really, but Nausicaa is near the top for me) I think it was the only one of Miyazaki's works to get a manga adaptation as well, six massive volumes that really expand the story and universe (the movie is essentially volume one and the rest is icing on the cake)

I don't see it happening. I liked it but I'm not going out of my way to rally to save it. If you read the manga or saw the original anime, then you've pretty much seen the Live Action; how many times can you tell the same story almost shot for shot? Apparently, two and a third.

Yeah, there is a change where Faye explores her sexuality, and I think someone said the changed Jet's backstory (I honestly didn't notice) but in my mind, it was the same story that added nothing new to the universe.

Still enjoyed it, still would have watched a second season, and a third, and a movie.

They were the most beautiful butterflies I had ever seen.

Here's the problem though:

Option 1] We let the wheels of justice turn as they slowly do until January of 2023 when the Republicans regain control of the House and Senate, at which point they shut down the 1/6 commission (or turn it into another Benghazi spectacle that pushes the Big Lie) and pass a bunch of batshit crazy laws to ensure they win the 2024 election, at which point they gain complete control and high five over the corpse of Lady Liberty.

Option 2] Democrats round them up now and declare Republicans a terrorist organization, thus turning America into a single party nation that's decried as fascist and authoritarian by the remaining Western Democracies as Putin and Winnie the Pooh cackle with glee while saying "I told you so"

Joe has opted for option one, out of fear of option two.

I prefer to hear things how they originally were made. Original emotional inflection etc.

That's one of the major differences in comparing modern voice acting; in Japan, the entire cast is in the booth, so when characters have a conversation it feels more natural. I can't think of any Western production where the cast is all in the booth at the same time, it's largely one actor at a time, which can lead to some of the wooden performances despite all the money the West now puts in.

Fan productions making money are never a good idea because the copyright holders will be rightfully pissed that they are violating IP laws.

They have several projects of their own now and only Dragon Shortz and HFIL are now the only properties directly tied to Dragonball, their original animations show promise but it's unclear if they are going to release any more then what they have done. It takes a long time for their animations to come out because it's one guy per project doing all the animations: Grant on Fist Masters, Kirran on Time Wizards, idk (I want to say Kaiser) on Diesel Dust. Apparently FF7MA is finished? Then there is the live action stuff, which I've only seen Unabridged and none of the new short pieces. With the announcement that the Buu saga is not coming I only checked in periodically and then the pandemic hit.

They're kinda abrasive people, and they're trying to be Rooster Teeth but their source material has been taken away. Could you imagine Red vs Blue if Microsoft had come down hard with the copyright hammer? No RWBY, no Gen:Lock, who could say if Achievement Hunter alone could have sustained them.

In my opinion, matters were made worse when certain people of their group tried to get professional voice acting gigs off of the back of a fan production.

You can't really begrudge them that, if Toei hadn't torpedoed things, we could have gotten the entire cast of DBZA in DBZ Kai. One of the English voice cast even participated on a couple of the DBZA episodes (and movies) under the pseudonym DJSexidillionaire. I think Funimation has hired them as voice actors on other official releases. Turning a labour of love into an actual paying voice acting job is something in and of itself.

And what they have done has had an impact with Super making little nods to them in some of the scripting. I think if Toriyama had more of a say in Toei's decision making, we would have a DBZA Buu Saga.

That one was on purpose.

For over a decade they had to constantly battle Toei and their copyright strikes and the constant threat of their channel and all their videos being deplatformed. I want to see the Buu saga as much as the next person, but the stress they were under for a fan project where they couldn't even make money off the videos people came to their channel to see, I understand their decision. Funimation had even hired them to provide voices on the DBZ Kai, but Toei nixed it after the fact.

Just this past month a youtuber that Toei had partnered with to create content, had every single video they have ever made hit with copyright claims from Toei.
