That isn't to say it was a false flag or an inside job or even that they knew for sure it was going to happen, but they certainly made sure to take full advantage of the situation.

For the unwritten societal rules, are people expected to tip on top of auto-gratuity? It's hard for me to tell with all the conflicting information on tipping rules (still not sure about tipping on pick-up/carry-out and what's considered "standard" amounts these days for all cases).

Good, I hate assholes like this. It already sucks ass trying to walk somewhere in the US because of car-centric infrastructure, but jackasses farting as loud as possible in their idiotmobiles make it obnoxious on top of inconvenient. Hopefully electric vehicles taking over will make such clowns extinct. I know there are audio systems to fake those noises, but hopefully even these clowns can recognize how stupid that is.

Giving more money to red lobster does nothing but line the pockets of the private equity firm squeezing it for all it's worth. The end result is bankruptcy regardless.

Why does there need to be more competition, it's not like anything would ever be able to draw me or a lot of others away from Hololive and our oshis no matter what it is. And for as successful as Hololive is, Cover owes about 90% of that to the girls because Cover's management leaves a lot to be desired.

It's not about drawing you away from your favorite streamers. Competition means more variety on offer as the companies set themselves apart. Hololive is going more for that "idol" angle. Even if it's not going as hard on that angle as in the past, there are still vestiges from that (like fans getting mad at women interacting with a man ever). That's all fine, but there are other experiences also worth watching in the space as well, vtubing has a lot of potential as a creative medium.

In an individual-focused industry like streaming there are always viable indies and small companies, but the big companies bring out the bigger productions, more resources, and more opportunities (provided they aren't run by clowns).

I've been looking at past indie accounts of certain nijisanjiEN members since they haven't streamed in a while and I enjoyed their content and boy is the current day nijisanjiEN situation dire. Like even though the subscriber count on the indie account isn't super high, it's like more than double the subscriber count of the nijisanji account. I'm not one to care about subscriber counts and all that, but below a certain level it's just unsustainable.

It's really a shame how incompetent management is at nijisanjiEN that they've blown it this bad. Early on, nijisanjiEN was actually really, really great and I was spending way more time watching nijisanji than hololive at that point. The dynamic between the different members felt more sociable and there wasn't the fan shrieking about collabs between men and women (or at least not as much as there seems to be in hololive).

Now my viewing time is split between indies, hololive (including holostars), and a small handful of nijisanji members. We need better competition in the large vtuber company space since they're the ones that can provide things like 3D studios and large sponsorships.

That'll show those republicans.

The stock isn't actually being traded right now since the markets are closed. Robinhood uses a service that is like a pretend market for 24 hour trading, hence the restriction of the price moving within 20% since otherwise the underlying service would have to make up for that (since they're not actually buying shares and can't until the market actually opens).

This wouldn't even be the only crime that Elon "Funding Secured" Musk has committed. He's "fake it until you make it" personified and has reaped the rewards of a system that is far too lenient on rich fuckers like him. Unfortunately since he's a billionaire, it'll be even harder for him to see the consequences of his actions.

Damn, that sucks. I've been seeing a lot of "restructuring" including at my own company. Just recently I did a lateral move because they were pulling the exact same shit. It didn't make sense since I was doing a lot of much-needed work in my old position that was simply cut off and had to hand off the work to another team and go look for a new position or face possible unemployment.

Remember the bullshit about "quietly quitting" that media outlets were running? Well I think there is a very real trend of "quiet layoffs" happening where they disguise them as restructuring and then just get rid of lot of people for "not finding a fit". I've seen this happening at other companies with people I've spoken to. Things are getting bad, but companies and the media don't want to show it.

Ie, you've got people that have their own servers being told they should switch to "the cloud" when there's literally no reason for them to.

To be fair, cloud providers have their own interfaces for managing resources and you wouldn't want someone unfamiliar to set things up in a way that would cost more money unnecessarily, especially since costs rapidly add up with cloud providers.

Ironically, the CEOs might actually be the ones most at risk of being replaced by AI if and when the shareholders realize the techbros were full of crap again and decide to stop using it to replace writers/artists/programmers/researchers/etc. An AI probably wouldn't be much worse than them at managing the company and predicting what'll make the company money (and thus please the shareholders), and would have the added benefit of being significantly cheaper than your average CEO.

CEO pay isn't tied to their usefulness. It's not a matter of technology. If anything, they'll increase their own pay because they'll prioritize eliminating labor and take all the credit.
