I feel like the literal fact that we can have an actual debate over Injustice Superman's motivations is a logical means for the Injustice universe existing, in the first place.

For the record, I don't actually like, vehemently disagree with you, Brykner, for example. If anything, I was trying to illustrate that such a debate can exist, over Injustice.

The only person I actually disagreed with was Kaihedgie, who seems upset that Injustice even exists.

My entire point is it's more interesting than not that multiple interpretations of a character can exist, and I feel like this topic illustrates that very well.

As someone who tried to use an alt deceptively, it was a complete failure. Nobody bought the ruse.

To be fair, it's one thing to use an alt unsuccessfully. It's an entire different thing to pretend you don't know how alts work, which is what SecretBase appears to be trying to do. Literally everybody who is still here on GameFAQs knows how alts work.

Regardless, it's still playable on Switch, which TTYD is not. And, likely, Gamecube emulation wouldn't run very well on Switch. Thus, a remake for TTYD was more necessary than 64 was.

The entire point of 2D Sonic is to play it over and over again, learning routes so you can try to beat the levels quicker and quicker. It differs from Mario in that regard.

That "one notable game" is the sixth best selling game of all time. The reason there aren't many others is because the cream of the crop (Mario Kart) is so hard to beat, but Mario Kart alone sells more than some other genres do nowadays, period. And even despite knowing they will never top Mario Kart, imitations still exist. That genre isn't dead at all. Saying kart racing is a dead genre implies a new Mario Kart wouldn't sell, which we know isn't even remotely true. Kart racing is just fairly unique in that one series has dominated the genre immensely, but that doesn't mean it's "dead" at all. The truth is that a new Mario Kart would outsell 99% of other games, still.

Plenty people who don't read Superman comics, or any comics at all and just wanted to play DC characters in a fighting game. Those who do read the comics however, found its story very much contrived and it can easily be seen as another Batwank story. It took the sequel for some people to realize just how bad it was getting.

Same goes for the Marvel VS Capcom games. Most of the Marvel VS playerbase has never picked up a single Marvel comic in their lives and wouldn't be able to tell you anything about their Marvel mains that didn't come from a movie or a cartoon they watched that one time.

So you're trying to gatekeep just to gatekeep, which is literally the worst thing one can do, if they like comics. Okay, then. Injustice was its own comic series, it didn't harm anything else. It existing is not a problem, period. There's literally nothing wrong with letting it exist and letting people enjoy it, and there's upside in that it may get them interested in other comics.

Atlus makes Shin Megami Tensei, Persona, and Etrian Odyssey and Square keeps making these 2D HD handheld turn based RPGs and Dragon Quest and one will get made every other year... and people will still say shit like "Turn based RPGs are dead" just because Final Fantasy isn't turned based anymore.

Don't forget Yakuza/Like a Dragon literally transformed from an action game into a turn-based RPG. There's several great games keeping the genre alive.

They literally ran over that poor player, and the Duke players literally had to huddle together to avoid being trampled.

Actually, it depends on the knife. A pocket knife would be much less horrible, yes. But how about a machete or a sword? If you get limbs / heads amputated its no longer less horrific.

A smaller knife would actually be easier to do damage with, since it takes less effort to cause damage. A machete or sword, for example, require you to swing, not stab, and thus it's much easier to avoid and/or stop, due to the increased arm movement. Yes, the machete/sword would do more damage if they hit, but you're also going to be stopped much sooner. A knife does less damage, but is easier to use. A machete/sword do more damage, but they're easier to avoid and/or stop. So, in essence, I don't think it'd make a huge difference.

If somebody offers you above asking price early, you take it. The longer a house is on the market, the more the value falls. Real estate is one thing where it's typically not worth it to wait, unless you are regularly being offered below asking price. If you're being offered below, it could be worth it to wait in case the market changes and you can get more later. If you get offered above asking price quickly, though, you take it, because the chances of the value falling are much higher than the chances of the value increasing.

Nah, I think it's a fair topic. I was suspicious, but when I asked for details, TC's response was above board. They didn't try to equate shootings to stabbings, they legit said "The person has a knife instead of a gun, and thus the result changes accordingly."

I get where he's coming from in the sense that for someone actually present at one (let alone surviving victims), or afraid of encountering one, it would be comparably traumatic. However, there would still be a huge difference in loss of life / number and severity of physical injuries, just not as much difference in mental health impact.

To be fair, I do think there would be a potential difference in mental health impact, since a mass stabber would be taken down by people much more quickly than a mass shooter would, and thus the range of people impacted, even if only mentally and not physically, would be lower. In a mass shooting, anybody within the radius is going to be mentally impacted, since they can hear the shooting. With a stabbing, only people right there, visually witnessing it, would be impacted as much.

I'm glad you were logical with it. I hate when people think you can change one significant detail and an alternate reality would be exactly the same just mins that detail.

Like, the Las Vegas Shooter wouldn't have been able to get that body count if he was stabbing people and it would be completely nonsensical to say he would have because that's our current timeline's body count.

Yeah, this is honestly why I asked, in case it was a bit of an illogical trick.

Anyone who would otherwise have gone to a location with a gun and started shooting everyone (or a specific subset of everyone, like targeting a particular race), they will instead go with a knife and start stabbing the same general kind of targets. It could play out completely differently in terms of who is or isn't a victim, how many, etc. Given that it's a stabbing rather than shooting, it is very likely to have less victims and less severe injuries.

Basically, the timelines first diverge with the person taking a knife instead (but otherwise remain the same), then once the attack starts, it's a totally seperate timeline.

As much as I'd love the money, I'd take the stabbing option. It's much tougher to do mass damage with a knife, and easier for people to take such a person down.

This. FF7 Remake is very much a remake, but some people seemed to want nothing changed, which is more of a remaster than a remake. Remakes pretty regularly change things up, while still hitting the same relative notes.

Like, let me make my point very clear.

Regardless of whether the guy actually plays games 50 hours a week, or just uses exploits 50 hours a week... He literally said he couldn't take care of the dog. Thus, he should just... Give the dog away. It doesn't matter who came up with the idea for the compensation, the actual monetary transaction should have never taken place. It should have been just... Him giving the dog to a better home, since he flat out said he couldn't take care of it.

So my main assertion, this whole time, has been that he was a shitty owner, since he chose to sell a dog he didn't want anymore, instead of giving it away, regardless of why, and that I don't like that the gaming media is painting this as "Hero gives up cherished pet for pet's benefit!"
