Adult Swim's youtube channel has been running a Robot Chicken livestream, but it seems like they're just doing the specials dedicated to specific properties. Star Wars, Walking Dead, DC, Hanna Barbera/Archie... seems like such a waste to just rerun the same five episodes over and over when they've got lord knows how many episodes made over the past twenty years.

Found out about this mental condition called Rejection Sensitivity Dysphoria. It basically makes you severely averse to rejection and failure, so you avoid anything that you might fail at, like jobs, friendships, or unfamiliar hobbies. When you get an opportunity to help out someone, you become a people-pleaser because you're desperate for approval.

I'm pretty sure I have it. It's usually found in people with ADHD, but I wasn't diagnosed with that. Then again, I haven't seen a psychologist since I was 16. Hell, I can't even remember if it was a psychologist; it could have been a regular doctor.

It explains so much about me. My low self-worth, me constantly assuming people dislike me and only act polite, my hesitancy to open up, constantly feeling anxious because I'm not doing something productive. I'll avoid recommending or mentioning certain games to people IRL just because of a single wrinkle, like an awkwardly-designed section or cutscene. I constantly operate under the assumption that my brother has little patience for me, so I do my damndest to avoid upsetting him.

Generally, I try to see myself from an outsider's perspective, and this hypothetical person doesn't approve. It explains why I magnetized towards some dignified interests. Part of the reason I like Poets of the Fall is because they're dignified. I kept my interest in MLP to myself because a grown man liking it is considered undignified. I like James Sunderland because he's a dignified character (again, disregarding his little whoopsie). I despise the purple lump on my lip because it's undignified and too pricey for me to fix. I wish so badly that I was one of those plain-looking dudes you'd see in a stock photo.

Try new Floraflor. For itchy, watery eyes, it's Floraflor. Side effects may include: nausea, lower back pain, receding hairline, itchy chafing clothing, liver spots, excessive body odor, uneven tire wear, hammertoe, warped floors, cluttered drawers, hunchback, heart attack, low resale value on your home, fleas, anxiety, sleeplessness, drowsiness, poor gas mileage, split ends, unibrow, lazy eye, fruit flies, chest pains, and clogged drains.

I decided to get the Megaman X Legacy Collection since I hadn't played any in over a decade. Wouldn't be worthy of my username if I left good ol' X behind. I only got the first half, since X5-8 are regarded as the crappy half.

Unfortunately, it makes for a REALLY bad first impression. It's got an in-game achievement system, so there's an auto save whenever you make progress towards or achieve one, and this results in audio desync if you're playing X1-3. Like, it can get up to three seconds behind. It seemed to stop after completing X1, since I haven't seen it in X2 so far, but it is NOT a good way to experience the MMX games for the first time.

And I don't know if it's age, lag, or the PS5 controller, but there's some dexterous stuff I have a lot more trouble with. Doing the dash jump to X1's arm upgrade is feasible, but I can't seem to do the tricks to get the upgrades in Wheel Gator's stage without the air dash anymore.

Sure would be nice if they did the kind of emulation that other old game rerelases do, where you can have save states and rewind. But they use the classic save system for each game here, so that means for X1, the most advanced save you can have starts you out with four empty sub-tanks and on the first of four endgame stages.

Been playing a game called Crime Scene Cleaner. You clean up areas where killings took place by removing bodies, shell casings, broken objects, mopping up blood, and placing intact furniture back into place. You're working for the mob, so you want to remove as much evidence as possible. Since you're not working legally, you can also pilfer valuables and drugs for extra cash, which translates to extra skill points. There's even secret areas you can find for even more cash.

It's one of the best "podcast games" I've played in a while. There's several free updates planned that will add remixed versions of current levels and brand new levels. Definite recommend.

I'd suggest immediately getting the skill that makes you not track blood when you step in it. Blood puddles almost always have debris in them, and hitting it with your mop pushes them around, which is a real issue if it's a tiny shell casing.

she was most attached to my dad but I was a close second, to where she'd choose my bed as one of her go-to sleeping spots.
Sounds similar to our female cat. She was also emotionally passive and not really a fan of other cats. After our male cat passed, we just decided to not get another. Were you able to be with her when she passed?

Also, DStone got a cat recently. It's an orange male cat named Churro.

Been playing (or trying to play) Terra Nil. It's like a city builder, but in reverse since the goal is to clean up desolate/polluted wastelands so nature can reclaim the land.

I guess I'm just a neanderthal, since it was tedious and confusing. A lot of things aren't really tutorialized well. It's kind of a guessing game why the game won't let you set down certain machines. Sometimes you need a special solid rock tile, sometimes you have to set up a power station first, sometimes you have to set up a different machine beforehand, etc.

Maybe this is because I've never played a city builder game (aside from Lego Land as a kid, which I also got stuck and gave up on), so I don't have the right mindset for it. It's generally got high scores, so I'm sure I'm the problem here. I just like when games have you make an immediate, unambiguously positive change to the environment, and that's what TN is all about.

I just decided to give up on it. I wasn't enjoying myself, even despite playing on the absolute easiest difficulty that makes building free. I'm just watching a walkthrough by someone who actually knows what the hell they're doing. Only good thing about this is the good deal I got. It was part of a discounted 3-in-1 deal that also came with Cricket Through The Ages and Broforce. Never heard of the first one, but I know Broforce is a tribute to classic super-macho action heroes, so that should be good.

This July has been surprisingly nice. Healthy amounts of rain, temperatures rarely go above 90 and nights have been in the low 70s. There's been a couple days I'd woken up early and gone for a walk. The past couple days, I've even walked a mile to go to Wendy's and Tim Horton's for breakfast.

Compare that to last July, where there were still emotional wounds, the beginnings of a drought, and my neighbor passing away, reopening those emotional wounds.

In terms of power, Horatio the boar from Far Cry: New Dawn. Once he gets 15 kills, he gains the ability to revive himself if downed. After that, you've effectively beaten the game. Send him into an enemy base, then sit back and enjoy the carnage. Aside from shooting a couple elevated enemies, you don't have to do anything.

I played this game called Wild At Heart. It's a game with a real nice storybook style where you play as two kids who use a squad of Pikmin-like minions and vacuum guns.

The puzzles are really well designed. One of the kids is smaller, so she can fit through small holes, but for some reason the minions won't follow her through even though they're smaller than her, so you have to have the other kid toss some over to her. Their vacuums can suck up currency, regroup any idle minions, and bring over any larger items. If you run out of backpack space, you can toss a minion at an item to have them hold it, then they'll drop it in storage when they get close to a storage box.

There's a day and night cycle and at night, these shadow monsters appear if you're in the dark to attack you. This can make puzzles even harder since you'll have to either try and solve them while at risk of an attack, wait them out near a light source, or just run back to a camp to sleep until day. Only a certain minion type can kill them, but they can come in numbers. The same minion type gets triple strength at night, so you HAVE to venture out at night to carry objects that require more than your maximum party size.

I got stuck at one point because there's these designated points where you can jump down to a lower level. One of these was over a river of liquid that kills your minions, so I thought that if I jumped, it would either kill my minions or leave them behind. After a couple hours running around, I finally decided to take the jump, and the party jumped over the river to land safely on the other side. Also had no idea how to get this one treasure, and it turns out that a previous room had a very well hidden wooden barrier you could smash. This thing blended in really well, like you had to be actively looking for it.

I played through Still Wakes the Deep. It's a first-person horror game where you're on an oil rig and an eldritch creature you dig up starts mutating your coworkers and causing serious structural instability. The main character is Scottish, which you don't often see in fiction. Everyone even speaks with 70s Scottish slang. Your coworkers don't all die immediately. A number of them survive the initial breakout, but die over the course of the game, so there's tension in wondering if they'll make it.

The game has you navigating the crumbling rig in an attempt to escape, dealing with environmental hazards, and running from your insane transformed coworkers. Sometimes they'll be stalking the area, so you have to throw an item to distract them.

Only real flaw is how they implemented a certain move. When underwater, you can sometimes grab onto something and kick off it for a burst of speed, which is required to survive. But you can only kick off if you're looking straight ahead, otherwise the prompt doesn't appear and you're wondering why it's not letting you. It also has the typical "flashlight beam the size of a baseball" you usually see in horror games. This made it really difficult to navigate a flooded area.

Gave sardines a second chance. This time, the tinned ones from the grocery store. They're way better, especially the ones in olive oil.

I also got a can of them from the dollar store that had some in tomato sauce. Unfortunately, they're absolutely horrible at deboning then, so they weren't worth the hassle.

Love Greek paninis.
Hate peas. While there's plenty of vegetables I like, peas are still just as nasty as when I was a kid.

Anyone else think Sonic Adventure 2 was lightning in a bottle? It came out at the perfect time, embodied the early 2000s perfectly, and had all the right people working on it.

Admittedly, I played the hell out of it it when I was 13, so I'm likely looking back with rose-colored glasses.

Found this photo album my mom meant to fill out, but never got around to adding anything to. She had a special cover photo made for it showing a dinner at my late grandma's house. Judging by the ages of everyone in the photo, it was likely taken around the mid-2000s. The photo has text on it saying:

"When you are lonely, I wish you love.
When you are down, I wish you joy.
When you are troubled, I wish you peace.
When things are complicated, I wish you simple beauty.
When things are chaotic, I wish you inner silence.
When things look empty, I wish you hope."

I added some loose photos to it, and asked my dad to bring some more over in the future.
