Problem is one of the main characters in the modern day story in black flag has direct ties to one of the past ones thats a whole big reveal at the end of the game. I get cutting the bulk of the nonsense but cutting that takes away part of the story the game was trying to tell

Well yeah, they don't want you getting a chance to improve your situation by quitting and finding a job. They want you to be working for them until the end so they don't have to retrain someone else to do your job when they're planning on leaving the buisness.

I think Shadows get overhated. There are plenty of things I didn't like about it but it was an enjoyable game.

Don't like the lack of first civilisation in it and this DLC won't change that.
Also the whole "whats in the box?" plot got boring with no pay off.

The apocalypse of that world was very compelling. I feel the writers did a great job of explaining how it got to that point.

I've always loved Dark Souls 2. Yeah it has plenty of problems but the world is beautiful, the art team cooked on this one. It feels like running through a fairy tale.
