So basically this topic is, everything and anything Harry Potter related is tainted and should be treated like leprosy no matter the quality of the product. Reviews praising Hogwarts Legacy are absolutely already paid for (according to UE with no sources). Aggregate critic review scores should be removed because it is completely biased (would absolutely love for our only other source of aggregate review scores to be user scores lol). People who enjoy anything associated with Harry Potter should feel bad and be met with scorn. Everybody needs to have the exact same level of emotional sensitivity otherwise fuck them.

Not defending JK Rowling at all if that is your take from my posts nor do I in any way agree with her views. Don't give a shit about Trump either because I'm not a US citizen. This is not the point I'm trying to make. I know for a fact that I'm not racist, homophobic, transphobic so that part is the last thing on my mind when it comes to the product.

The game is created by thousands of developers. Most likely some are good people, some neutral, some evil. That isn't my concern because that's just nature, the end product that they bring out is what matters. If the game turns out to be a highly quality delightful gaming experience then I'm happy because I can indulge myself in a new experience that can entertain me for hours. If not, then I can just stop playing the game.

Now if JK Rowling inserted herself as a character and the game had transphobic content and prejudice then yes I completely agree with boycotts. That is why I have said the only media I will actively boycott for my own personal reasons is Aquaman 2 because Amber Heard is a character in that movie and it will be hard for me to separate suspension of disbelief to buy her as the Meera character because I just really really dislike her as a human being.

The difference between boycotting Joanne and boycotting Nestle is that the former makes one series about a wizard boy that's always been kinda mid and the latter makes roughly 1/6th of all packaged food in the entire world, but yes, people should absolutely boycott Nestle too

I'm 34 thanks and I've been friends with some of them since childhood. And while they are total whackjobs when it comes to these things, it is only a part of their personality. Something like this might not mean anything to the average person but for someone like me who loves video games and have been passionate about it as his hobby since early childhood, it feels a little personal because other than my kids, wife and family, it is my most cherished thing.

We should take joy in seeing video games succeed, not hope it fails. Like I completely get it, if you actually play the game and then air your dirty laundry. You have the right to do so then and you're entitled to your opinion.

But to completely shit on a product before it even comes out, to completely shun it, encourage boycotts, encourage piracy and roast it based on a single somewhat poorly worded review in the context of its final score (which Kamikaze cherry picked to make it look even more out of context and exaggerated) looks like a pathetic agenda especially when it is a reoccurring theme in these topics. Which is why I'm assuming the case of some of my friends from life as an example of either being too poor, too stingy, too wrapped up in political correctness because they have no child, no wife, no life. And I say it to their face just like I would if I ever see anyone spout nonsense like that.

This is the first time we're gonna see Souls games in action so this tournament will be a good indicator whether the series has a good play rate in this board or the fans are just simply the diehard vocal ones like us.

Fire Emblem has looked like absolute trash in these tourneys so I reckon its fans are just vocal diehards but not in any huge numbers around here. Unless Radiant Dawn has somehow become the most beloved game of its franchise in this board, Demon's Souls should be able to beat it. If Demon's fails to do it, then Souls games may be suffering from the same stigma as the Fire Emblems.

Edit: Removed Life is Strange and added Ninja Gaiden II because I mixed up the former's generation

I found Egyl very very useful drawing aggro with his insane defense and Cover is a godsend of an ability against hard hitting bosses. I can get Lenne to easily stack all her buffs (which makes her defense very vulnerable) with Egyl covering her, drawing all the aggro and absorbing all attacks. Not to mention he has the full heal spell (which he can only use on himself mind you) so he almost becomes an unkillable wall of defense.

My party of Glenn, Lenne, Egyl and Victor were unstoppable and complimented each other's abilities very well.

Glenn to debuff enemies and heal Lenne's TP when she uses Elemental Pact. Egyl to draw aggro and cover Lenne and also apply Dry status to further stack elemental weakness on enemies. Victor to apply buffs and heal when necessary. Lenne to completely annihilate enemies with Water Thrust for single targets and Water Jump for multiple targets.

This really does completely break the game's difficulty though but my point is, Egyl rocks and the people saying he sucks completely misunderstand his usefulness in battles.

82 for a modern mainline Fire Emblem game is not great. Haven't even played the Fates games which reviewed much better because of the really bad things I heard about the storyline. I'm buying this for sure like I buy most video games but gonna wait to see the consensus on the story and characters before I dig in.

100% done. 38 hours played total. I think the timer in this the game is slower than the an actual clock because I feel like I played a lot lot more than just 38 hours.

Lenne with Elemental Pact, Third Eye along with elemental and offensive buffs absolutely melted the Super Boss. The Assassin Girl ended up being a harder fight than the God King.

Game beat. Best indie game I've played quite easily. High recommendation to any JRPG fan.

Third Eye stacking with Elemental Pact along with all the elemental and defense debuffs is making Lenne into a killing machine. She is practically 1 or 2 shotting Bosses when fully buffed this late into the game.

End of Act 3. Fucking incredible game holy shit. Truly speechless at the quality of the story telling.

Got to the Sky Island.

This game is absolutely the real deal. I am hooked to the story, the characters, the combat, the exploration, the music, the world. Basically almost everything. Can scarcely believe this is an indie game much less made by a single person.
