Is it unpopular to say that I actually preferred Breath of the Wild over Tears of the Kingdom. Playing Tears of the Kingdom felt like a really big DLC and it didn't hit me the same way Breath did. In addition, I really liked Champions over Sages and the abilities in general felt more "Zelda"-like in Breath. I just feel that awed by Tears.

Well, anybody can declare a game of the year, and most publications about games or with a gaming section do one. However, there are some bigger awards. You have The Game Awards, which is voted on by press from across the world and a public vote. You have The Golden Joysticks, which is voted on by all of the UK press for the Critics Choice and a worldwide public vote for Ultimate Game of the Year. Theres the GDC awards which is voted on by leading industry figures and also Academy awards like DICE and BAFTA which are probably closest to the Oscars. So no there isnt a single official pick but some awards are bigger than others.

Are those the most reputable? I guess that's the real question I'm looking for. There can be multiple GotY, but are there only some sources that people take seriously in the gaming community?

How many, "official," Game of the Year contests are there?

I know Game Awards has been doing theirs since 2014, but I know I've heard of several games that have won, "Game of the Year," that was not awarded at Game Awards, like Hades or Control for example.

Is there only one "official" Game of the Year, or are there multiple titles that can officially hold that title due to multiple contests?

I picked red because I'm not naive enough to think that enough people would legit pick blue. In my experience, most people are dicks. Does siding with them solely for self-preservation make me a dick too? I don't think so.

Just like picking blue doesn't automatically make someone a moron.

Pushing 100% of either button wins for everyone. Pushing over 50% is still a win for everyone for one button. It can be argued that anyone who picks blue is a moron and deserves to die. But it can also be said that anyone who picks red is a dick and not someone you'd want to regularly associate with.

I picked blue.

If Desantis is off the table for you, then Pence should be absolutely nowhere near your lips as a possible candidate.

Pence is almost assuredly not even happening anyways, but I'm curious what's wrong with him, other than his traitor label?

I'm not a huge follower of politics, and mostly get my information from my Google feed or Twitter, so take my comments here with a grain of salt.

In regards to Trump, there's a little bit of a cult mentality, for sure. I have literally no clue why he's so popular.

I think maybe the issue is that most of his GOP contenders have a few stigmas about them that voters want to avoid.

DeSantis comes off a bit homophobic and an extreme bigot.

Pence is seen as a traitor to his party.

Chris Christie is seen as a joke.

Personally, I don't really want another 4 years of Biden. But I'm absolutely not voting for Trump or DeSantis. If Pence or Christie got the nod, I might consider them, but their odds are extremely low, so more than likely I'll be voting Biden again.

The pain continues.

My dog has had terrible diarrhea for almost a week now. Come to find out he is chewing on aerial shrapnel from the fireworks that landed in our backyard and getting gunpowder residue in his digestive tract. We had to take him to the vet and get him some medication and special food.

We went through the backyard this morning and found about 30 firework casings in various nooks and crannies of the whole area. Got on the roof of the house and found about a dozen more on the roof and in the gutters.

This will be a process every time we have neighborhood fireworks by the looks of things.

My neighborhood is a brand new neighborhood. Everyone in it has been here less than a year.

They are still building houses behind my house even, and there is a whole two blocks for development still waiting to be done.

If you zoom in you can see all the shrapnel from the day after the 4th. It was ridiculous. All the debris still out there 4 days later.

I mean, I live in Let's Go Brandon country so it of course gets a little yee-haw on the 4th but this is definitely the first time it's gone on this long

My new home is in a similar neighborhood, lol. My dog is only 10 months old and never heard thunder before because northern Utah doesn't get a ton of it. And yes, they are still firing off fireworks tonight, and every night since the 4th.

Like half the block is doing fireworks. My poor dog is freaking out. Never seen so many people in front of their houses, most of which have at least $1000 worth of fireworks.

I bought my dog some hemp seed treats for today, but it's so loud and obnoxious that they aren't helping at all.
