I've just come to the conclusion that I am such a casual mobile gamer that I'm never really going to be "good" at this game. I still love it due to nostalgia, but I just don't really have the time to research and team build and much prefer to just use my strongest 5 and strongman content when I can.

I've had to use Golem for Provoke, and I can close the gap on the provoke rate with Judge Magister Cloak (on Basch and Zarg). I don't have Moogle Plushie yet, and even if I did, that would mean losing the TMR of either Basch or Gladio (and thus their bonus as well).

GLS chains with Chaos, so she's about on par with TT if you have her or if you have any TT friends. She's not terrible. Mine is up to 1900+ Magic and I get FRs fairly frequently with her as my lead.

So theoretically, Fixed Dice could do 1 damage, it's just the randomness usually had it higher? I guess I just don't understand the variance aspect. It's just a random value between two sets of numbers, right? So the tighter the variance, the more likely you'll hit consistent values, whereas a wider variance gives for a far greater degree of random values. It's more like playing the lottery and hoping for big numbers in that regard?

Wouldn't that make Hyoh's better then since it's 1H? I don't know if Clouds is 2H or not, but I know Hyoh's is 1H which means it gets more versatility and can use DH materia as well.

I still don't understand why Cloud's 180 Attack STMR weapon is 'vastly' superior to Hyoh's 180 Attack STMR weapon. Is a larger variance really that big a deal? Isn't is just the same as comparing consistency and inconsistency?

Yeah, I log in to E7 once in a while, but I haven't gotten invested into it yet. It still crashes on me once in a while too. Something in my folders that it doesn't like, I keep getting an error and then what looks like a file of some type but it's just a string of random letters and numbers. I've tried clearing my cache, but it still happens. It's enough to make me lose a lot of interest.

The Memelord review kind of breezed over the specifics.

She chains with Trance Terra and the Chaos stuff. She's actually quite strong, competitive with Trance Terra in terms of DPS output with Trance Terra being more front loaded with Quad Cast every other turn, while GLS is more sustained with Triple Cast every turn. She has the added benefit of being a bit supportive too by offering damage reduction, Reraise, and MP regeneration. She imperils Dark and Fire, so she works well with Trance Terra. She's also a beast in Arena.

She's a strong unit, but not over the top that people drool over.

My 7* Grim Lord Sakura is my rep, and she has...
9k+ HP, 1k+ MP
1800+ Magic, 800+ Spirit

I wouldn't call her poop at all.

If you have a 7 star olive and can gear her well then she'll be a much better finisher especially if your chainers use either lightning or fire weapons since she has that -100% imperil to both as well as massive damage at the expense of her life.

As for tank I mean you can try to see what the 7 star of WKN will bring and try for one and then UOC the other or you can use regular UOC on A.Rain like you said or make basch your magic tank and UOC either a Wilhelm or a Sieghard.

My Physical DPS gear choices are definitely lagging behind my Magical Gear choices. I can gear both Grim Lord Sakura and Trance Terra to 1850 and 1610 Magic respectively. Hyoh still doesn't break 2k Attack, and Orlandeau barely breaks 1600 himself. Trying to equip a third Physical DPS will just be scraps that may not be worth investing in another 7* for at the moment, especially considering I still haven't awoken her, and I'm constantly under 3mil Gil due to other 7*s and awakening their abilities.

I tapped myself out going for Sieghard. I have a couple hundred Lapis and no tickets. I don't have a single copy of WKN, so I'd have to be extremely lucky and chance into one on a daily draw. I do have a single copy of Awakened Rain though, and 17 UoC stubs, so I think he's the better option, and then after I get my next 3 stubs, I'll get my second Loren.

So, over 160 tickets now on the banner, and a full 5 steps, and not one Rainbow. Probably the longest summoning drought I've had for Rainbows in some time.

I'm thinking Basch will become my physical tank, and I'll use my UoC on Awakened Rain. When I get 3 more UoC stubs I can pull Loren and be content with those and the line up above (plus MS Nichol when he gets his 7*).

As for the GLEX UoC, it's basically between Reberta and Malphaise if I want 7* versions of either of them (which I'm not even sure I do), or get a unit I don't have that provides a nice TMR.

At the moment, I'm leaning towards a second Reberta. I don't really need her, but I have a second 100% Crimson Blood Moogle sitting in my stash, and Horith can't seem to praise her enough.

I'm trying to be content with what I have and work around a dozen units at most instead of constantly chasing the carrot.

I've never had a Chain Finisher, and not sure if I've needed one, but it sounds like Reberta might fit this role if I took a second one, but also have 2 Olives, 3 Knight Delitas, and 4 Balthiers who I know constitute Finishers as well. I need a second tank, and I have an Awakened Rain, so if I don't get two Sieghards from this banner, I'm probably going to go for A.Rain and Basch as my two tanks. I also want Loren since I think he might be a bit more consistent with Breaks than relying on 2B.

I can never tell just how good Tanks really are until I've used them in practice. As long as they can perform "tanking" though, and survive, I don't think they need to be much better in other areas. So realistically, they just need the ability to draw attacks away from the rest of the party, and live through the onslaught the following turn.

I'm easily 150+ (including 25ish 4*+) tickets deep into the Sieghard banner and still haven't pulled a Rainbow. I did the first 4 steps on the Step Up as well and nada. I need another 3k Lapis and I'll do the last step.

What'll probably end up happening at this rate though is that I'll turn Basch into my Physical Tank and spend a UoC on a second Awakened Rain for Magical Tank. I have Gladio, but I don't like the lack of provoke, and don't think I can get him to 100% provoke even with Golem.

I need to clean up my Equipment and Abilities. I have so much stuff, I can't keep track of what's useful anymore.

For example, I don't think I need STAT +20% or lower materia anymore. I can probably lose any weapon that has less than 80 Attack. I've probably got at least 100 items from each category that I haven't ever used let alone used since I got them.

My only complaint, about 30 minutes into Epic 7, is that I play all my games with no sound since I'm usually in the presence of other people and don't want annoying sounds to bother them. So I've missed out on any dialogue that might have been happening during the anime sequences so far.

The story outside of cutscenes at least seems to keep me informed as to what's going on, but any of those 30 secondish videos that might have talking are completely silent.

I tried redownloading Epic Seven since it was recently patched, and it no longer crashed on me, so I'm playing it now. I stopped rerolling the selective summon at 24/30. I got a 5* unit names Basar (Earth Mage) on my 3rd reroll, but opted to keep trying since everything else was 3*. Every reroll after that until 24 never saw a 5* unit, but any 5* was an artifact instead.

Finally, on 24th reroll, I got a 5* unit again, Tywin an Ice Knight. The grouping also came with a 4* Earth Archer, Silk. Rather than press my luck, I kept it.

Yeah, that might be my real issue. I don't usually make the time to just sit for a half an hour and play, I usually play in 10 to 15 minute spurts at the longest.

I can only imagine how frustrated I'd be too if I spent an hour trying to team build and be meticulous and then still fail.

I guarantee I have the tools to do the content, I just usually find myself having the time to plan, organize, and execute. Sadly, most the time, I find myself just hitting repeat while trying to multi-task whatever it is I'm doing in real life.

Honestly, if you have even a few 7* units, most of the 10-mans are pretty badly power crept at this point. Tegmine used to be a monster, and now he's a joke. Almost all of them pretty much need to be one-shot in their last phase, otherwise you're going to either die or put in such a bad place that you'll never be able to recover. However, most of them have relatively small health pools, so that's not nearly as hard a feat as it sounds. For reference, I beat a lot of them with Tornado chaining with a 6* Barbie and Lexa. Some of them I didn't even need anything other than those two for finishing damage, just needing physical chainers for when certain bosses became magic immune.

Really, the hardest part of these fights is making sure you have a team built around the boss. The gearing alone can take quite a while, just because you need to equip 10 units with the stuff they need to perform their roles well. After that, it's just a matter of fighting the bosses with the occasional redo as you learn the patterns, assuming you don't just hit the hard thresholds every time and just bypass all the mechanics.

Do I really need to gear 10 units though? Like, can 3 or 4 of the units basically just be filler units and the content be done with 5 or 6 well geared units? Or are the fights meant to be done with 10 units, and anything less is handicapping yourself?

Is there a "checklist" for all the difficult encounters in the game? Something that I can go down the line and say, "yep, I have that, I can do this content?"

Just having Zarg for provoke tanking, Basch for magical tanking, GLS and TTerra for magical damage, Orlandeau and Hyoh for physical damage, and Ayaka for healing and trying to brute force the content doesn't really work lol.

I one shot Tetra Sylphid last night, but as a result I didn't get the Moogle or the Supercyte, and when I tried again and slowed myself down, I got wrecked.

I also haven't had any luck fighting Titan, Diablos, or Carbuncle as all 3 basically destroy me still. Haven't even tried Odin or Fenrir yet.

I think it would be hard for a game that's 25 years old to be able to be able to topple current giants if you are experiencing it for the first time.

Story is always the most important thing to me in gaming, and at the time FF6 was one of the most endearing and greatest pieces of story I'd ever played. If I hadn't played it then and played it now, I can definitely see myself holding it to standards like Horizon: ZD, God of War, and other epic stories in gaming of the recent years.

Anyone else ever find it hard to maintain Alcrysts and Heavicrysts? I have so many units that need Tech Alcrysts that I'm easily about 100 in the hole right now, and Heavicrysts are hit or miss, like I need 6 Support Heavy for Zargabaath, but I have more than I need of almost all the rest.

I'd say a good chunk of first timers lose Shadow their first play through. That's really one of the charms of this particular Final Fantasy is that there really are some serious consequences for characters.

I let Shadow die my first time, and my second playthrough I ensured I did everything I possibly could to learn about Clyde and his past to make up for it.

Still my favorite Final Fantasy game ever, and I'm not sure if people on the board were aware or not, but I legally changed my name to Locke when I was able to (22 years ago) because of this game.
