I thought the first couple chapters weren't too good but it got much better later on when the writer was comfortable with the setting and characters and didn't just feel he was naming random things that might be important like factories and raw materials or whatever. Good recommendation.

it's an epic games exclusive for now. it'll probably be on steam eventually but it won't be soon enough to hold your breath for

the outer worlds / outer wilds similarities even extend there - i installed the epic games launcher JUST to buy the outer worlds which is also an exclusive to epic for now and that's how i even discovered outer wilds exists. These are my only two games on that launcher...

That Overwatch 2 cinematic was really bad. Damn. I really love these cinematics and that was such a drop in writing quality that it hurts.

The stakes were poorly set up, the scene doesn't really make sense (they didn't notice the giant robot when they flew in? are things over now with the giant robot down?), and the dialogue was often just catch phrases. It was basically just a montage to show off each character showing up to look cool.. Very disappointing.

it was very good.

people often ask what it is that diablo 2 story did that was supposedly better than diablo 3's, and was it actually any good. I don't know if i can say the story was better or not, but it definitely created a sense of atmosphere that diablo 3 didn't. This cinematic captured that feeling imo.

Question: I've been spending most of my loops exploring Brittle Hollow, but I'm having a hard time understanding the interior of the planet. I haven't really figured out how it all connects together, and I activate those blue paths that push you along, but they always end up dropping me into the black hole.

How do those even work? Do you have to activate both sides for them to work? If so, does that mean they are just shortcuts if you've been to both sides in the same loop? Or do you actually use them to get to new areas?

just started playing this game

i was playing around with the model ship on my keyboard before actually taking off in the real ship, and i was getting real annoyed feeling like these controls were impossible. then i buckled down and really figured them out and now it feels so good. When I finally had some controlled flying and went into the geyser for the first time to be thrown up distantly into the sky, watching it get smaller and smaller as I continued to engage thrusters to move it around a little, i just.... had a big smile on my face for some reason

i dont know what it is about this game but i think there's something special here.

so iv been playing this game a bit

i feel like it's just fallout. i kinda knew that before buying it but man it does really nothing to differentiate itself at all and it kinda bugs me. sure its "a good game" but it feels really weird to me that they made fallout new vegas and then went on to make fallout again and everyone is congratulating them for it.

My first reaction was "well who was responsible for providing the blank rounds" so I found this article

It turns out that there was nobody responsible for this- there was absolutely no safety procedures or guidelines for this training whatsoever . It was just some cops organizing some scenarios however they want with whoever was available

This is the part that I find really crazy - the "blanks" was just some ammo he got from someone who found it in their house. It's like they were asking for an incident....

According to court documents, Coel obtained in July 2016 what he thought was blank ammunition from Lt. Katie Heck, a former K-9 officer with the department and Coels immediate supervisor. She had gotten it from her husband, a lieutenant with the Charlotte County Sheriffs Office, whod discovered it while the couple was moving out of their home.

It's really not. For the most part, to do it effectively at all, requires either a ridiculous amount of trial and error, or using a guide.

Or you could just observe the monster's personality and behaviour

if a monster is telling a joke, try laughing at the joke

if he's mad about something, try fixing that issue

the gameplay is really an amalgamation of a lot of things. it's kind of an JRPG style game where you walk around and get into JRPG fight encounters, except your ability to do stuff in the fight depends on a succeeding at a schmup style thing where you have to dodge stuff. But also you can choose to do other things to find a way to end the battle without killing your opponent if you can figure out how to get them to stop fighting

I dunno just play the game

+11 int is quite a bit for having that much spell damage, for most slots it's worthwhile to take an item with +20-30 spell damage with literally no other stats over other items that are +int +stam + spirit but no or low spell damage

Robe of the Archmage is better, of course, but you need 300 tailoring and the pattern to craft it and it's BOP and very expensive.

yep

you can get more int gear but then you'll be able to cast a few more frostbolts or maybe 1 more blizzard, but then you'll have to spend even more time drinking to get the mana back

The Magisters set isn't good, unfortunately

Spell damage is the best, and some slots the best item you can get is just +frost damage

If you are a tailor you probably have Robe of Power already, and Robe of the Archmage is the best chest you can get, but if you aren't a tailor then Robe of Winter Night is really good. Also if you never did the level 30 quest from TAbetha in Dustwallow Marsh that leads to the Icefury Wand you should probably do that.

yeah it's really all about much you wanna play the game. it's super easy to get into a place where you play the game because you feel like you should be playing it instead of because you want to play it.

So my dad was in town visiting and somehow The Mummy 1999 was brought up and he'd never seen it and no idea what it was, so obviously we had to watch it

I went into it thinking it was really good, coming out of it I think it might be one of my favourite movies.

it is a specific meat sauce for sloppy joes, true, but i mean, it's still just a meat sauce you can use for other things. i've had extra leftover that i've used with other stuff tons of times. it's not really that special.

I played it at Blizzcon and it was... fine. The outrage was not ever about the quality of the game, but more about Blizzard going into a market that none of their fanbase gave a shit about. Oh and how badly they handled the unveiling and follow up questions.

Plus I'm sure the game will be riddled with microtransactions when released

I don't have any problem with Blizzard making a mobile Diablo game, that just seems like a normal thing to me. And I'd go as far to say Diablo Immortal was good.

The thing that really bugged me about it was that they were acting like it's a new game, with new lore about the 20 years between Diablo 2 and 3 where you play as humans trying to survive. But.... it was Diablo 3 on a phone. They successfully ported Diablo 3 to a phone and it worked really well. You played as the Diablo 3 characters. It wasn't a new game, and these weren't different characters. Good job at bringing Diablo 3 to a phone.

But don't try to convince me it's a new game.

The MCU is a very character driven franchise, and it explores these characters expertly. This focus allows fans to develop emotional connection and reactions to the growth and events that these characters go through.

Is characterization not valid cinema? Is provoking emotional feelings or thoughts not an accomplishment?

This is very similar to the "literature vs genre fiction" debate in the book world, and it's just as dumb here is as it is there.
