He has a ton of health, can heal himself, and shotguns are inherently anti tank, and oh yeah he has a hook so he can pull people out of position and into his team. To say one shotting people was his entire kit is absurd.

I completely agree he's bad *right now* but that doesn't mean the correct design decision is for him to be able to one shot people to be good. I think the ideal design for him is that he's good at disrupting enemy team dynamics, is difficult to kill, and is good at killing tanks.

it makes no sense, roadhog's small clip and long reload time, plus the hook nerf, made him incredibly well-balanced. they claimed they wanted to eliminate "one shots" but that's the whole point of the hook and he has a lot of negatives that balance that out. there are still some serious one-shots, like, as you mentioned, hanzo. and he can do that about as often as roadhog hooks, and hell, his requires less aiming.

i disagree that that one shots are the point of the hook. the point of the hook is to pull people out of position. i think it's better for the game to require a bit of teamwork to instantly kill someone that gets hooked rather than Roadhog being able to just solo kill most people instantly by himself so easily.

I like the Gnomish Vampire. I think your hate on it is a little overblown VI. It could destroy win conditions, or maybe not. It's a good card that maybe you don't always want to run if you don't really value what it does very much. Thats basically the ideal design imo

As for that val'kyr, it might be better than IGP because of all the whirlwind effects. At this point, playing against a warrior is "expect the board to take 1 damage every turn" so I would expect the valkyr to get two procs off most times if your deck is intended to make use of it (which it should be if you included it...)

MistGun being Gerard kind of ruined MistGun but that was also great because of the Everyone Is Gerard meme. what a glorious time to be alive.


But man I'm honestly glad this is over. I tapped out awhile after the festival arc (which has one of my favourite chapters, the Pandemonium game that Erza slays. I still read that every now and then just for hype), that arc went to hell. But it was when they started trying to tell me that there was another continent with an evil empire of 12 super mages or whatever that were WAY above the level of any of *our* mages. Also there was a super mage on our continent named God Serena or something who is the best... even though we'd never seen him? Like what the hell? There's been all these major conflicts and the festival and this guy never showed up or was mentioned, and now I'm supposed to buy he's our strongest guy?

Then I started reading fan response to the chapter and people were actually eating that shit up being excited about God Serena. It was such a transparent half hearted attempt at drumming up hype... I was out after that.

I'm sure there were some awesome moments but I have no doubt that those 12 dudes and God Serena were all beaten by Natsu and Co after a bit of bruising up.

Well the stats can certainly come down to be a 2/4 like Brann. Hell I'd take a 1/4. The ability is whats useful, and health keeps it possibly alive for another turn. What's key with this ability is being able to actually use deathrattles while it's alive, and making it 4 makes combos impossible early / mid game, and limits what you can do late game.

I really don't think I'm going to want to see this movie. Like it looks like it could be a really objectively good movie... but it looks like it's a lot of watching men in boats die. It just seems unpleasant.

Also re: Peter proving himself, I feel like the Machine Lift was kinda a flop but it was basically the one thing that was. And like...I felt that because I read the original moment. Seriously guys, look at this:








The reason it's so powerful is that Peter is fighting for something bigger than himself. Aping it and then reducing the stakes doesn't really work. It was a cool reference, but not good enough. Shoulda saved that moment for further down the line, IMO.

I wanted to respond to this earlier but never got around to it.

This is a great scene from the comics, and I completely agree that this scene did not play out in the movie the same way the original did, despite clearly being inspired by it.

But I don't think that's a bad scene. I think it worked out incredibly well in this movie, but just for a different reason.


In the original, Spidey is trapped and just unable to save himself. He tries to exert his strength and just can't do it. But he he really dwells on the consequences of him giving up here. Aunt May is going to die. He has to complete this impossible task and lift all that machinery or else that's it for someone he loves. So he pushes beyond his limits and does it at great effort. It just feels great because of what he's doing it for - the people in his life.


In this movie, you are right that the stakes aren't so high. Nobody is going to die directly if he doesn't lift out of that wreckage. It's just a robbery. As far as robberies go, it's a pretty serious one, but it's still just a robbery. Innocent people aren't going to get hurt, let alone the people he cares about. But that doesn't really matter


This movie was about Peter Parker discovering what kind of hero he wants to be - and that doesn't necessarily mean being a big shot with the Avengers getting in on all of the coolest action. Sometimes it just means giving an old lady directions, or stopping a bike thief. These were things he did at the start of the movie, but he did them with a sense of frustration that he could be doing something better or bigger. But sometimes he just needs to stop a robbery.

In the wreckage scene, he's absolutely beaten down into actual panic. In those moments he's not Spider-Man, he's just a kid in way over his head who can't find a way out. Like in the original comic, the weight is too much for him to lift with his normal efforts. The stakes are not nearly so high as in the original. No body is in mortal danger. But it's because those kind of stakes don't exist that we actually see him give up for a second. That doesn't happen in the original.. And it's in his moment of actually giving up that he realizes how important stopping robberies is to him. That's who Spider-Man is, that's who he is, and he can't let himself be stopped here. He's more than just a kid. So he perseveres.

I think it's a great scene that perfect for the movie. They definitely adapted that scene for a different purpose than the original, but that's okay. It totally works.

That's easily solvable though - just give all of the "veteran" players special rewards for having purchased the game originally, kinda like they just did with Heroes of the Storm when HotS 2.0 launched. It even functions as a way to pull those old players back in and get invested in whatever new revenue model they use.



I'll also note that I have absolutely no problem with the Necromancer costing $15. I've spent more than that on my PoE Necromancer to make my summons look baller as fuck. I would gladly give them $15 for this Necromancer, if I had any confidence whatsoever that they game will continue to be developed outside of the Necro. But I don't have that confidence.

This was a fine concept at first - but after awhile gets tiring. And that leads us to what Drakeryn said - "it's done". If you've played Diablo 3 already, there's not really any reason to keep playing it. But that's ridiculous - it's an incredible game that has a lot of potential to still be fun.

I *want* to play Diablo 3, but I don't want to just endlessly run rifts. it gets old fast.

They recently released a recreation of the Diablo 1 dungeons as a content update. They had this cool graphical update that made the game pixelated back then which was awesome. And then we went into the Tristram catacombs to experience that sweet sweet Diablo 1 content. And it was just a rift. There was no recreation of the Diablo 1 locations, or interesting gameplay elements. It was just a rift with the cool pixelated look.

It was basically a slap in the face. It was the biggest content update Diablo 3 had in a very long time... and it was literally nothing.

The Necromancer update is cool, for sure. Another class is awesome. Except, there is no dev team actively monitoring the game, adding content to do, and balancing current builds and content to keep things fresh. Why would I want to play this Necromancer? So I can endlessly run rifts again? Seriously?

I'm not here to say Diablo 3 sucks compared to Path of Exile. I'm here to say that Diablo 3 is an awesome game, and Path of Exile is a similarly awesome game in the same genre that shows how to stay fresh and relevant - and Blizzard just isn't doing that. Every other Blizz game is actively developed by a content creation team. But D3 just has these token efforts meant to keep stringing along the playerbase. It sucks. This game could still be so much more... but they just don't want it to be.

I want to play Diablo 3. Just give me something to do.

I am comparing apples to apples.

I LOVE Diablo 3. The base gameplay is EXCELLENT. In fact, I'd go as far as to say it's *better* than Path of Exile. All of the classes are cool and fun to play. The unique mobs were all well designed with varying abilities that made them fun to fight. There's lots of great zones to play through. Rifts are a really cool concept of endlessly scaling content to challenge yourself against. There's lots of interesting items to make builds around.

But Blizzard has chosen to not have an active dev team on this game and just have a couple minor updates to keep a small playerbase strung along. This is a stupid as hell decision.


The current way Diablo 3 works is like this: The only worthwhile thing to do is push rifts as far as you can. Everything you do is intended to work towards that goal, farming bounties or whatever.

To do this, you can only play a few sets which give you insane damage bonuses. If you try doing a build that does not have a set giving 1000% damage bonuses to certain abilities, or does not use Legacy of Nightmares, you will have no success. So you can only play the sets that give bonuses, and not all of the sets are even good. So what builds you can do are extremely limited. There is little to no creativity beyond the established builds on using the VERY DIVERSE skillsets the characters have, or using a lot of uniques. Either a unique fits into a sets build, or it doesn't.

You usually get 1 free set due to the season goals, so you get that, and then beyond that you just begin running rifts endlessly. Rifts by themselves are a really cool concept. But when they are *the only thing you do*, they get very repetitive. Sure you go to all the different tile sets, but after awhile they all become the same. There's no goal to work towards - you just keep running rifts. You can't really do much to work towards particular gear goals - you get deaths breaths and bloodshards every run, which help you "roll for a unique", but its not really targeted, it's 1 in thousands chances even using those. There are a few item types that has a good chance of being rolled with death breaths, but for the most part its pretty unlikely. There are very few pieces of gear you can do something specific to earn, like Ring of Royal Grandeur. This means that your method of progressing your character to get better at rifts, is to just endlessly run rifts. If you've reached a plateau of how strong your character is and what you can run, all you can do its keep running for hours and hours and hope your upgrade drops, with nothing you can do to add to it.

There's tons of display settings that I like on my phone that I dislike on my computer and vice versa. In general my computer account has more details, like full timestamps, whereas on my phone i have that 1 hour ago thing because I want less detail to process scrolling through. I don't even see your dumb signatures on my phone. I forget what it is but I also have a different layout I like on my phone that is ass on my PC. I have my PC set to display spoilers on hover while my phone is click, etc. I mean there's tons of options in customizing gamefaqs and they are all tied to your account, not your device. There's gonna be features that work on a phone and those that work on PC.

That said, as far as ignore lists go, I'm far more relaxed on my phone. I'm not going to get into some dumb argument with Vlado or whatever while I'm on the bus, so I don't mind seeing his stupid shit as much. Instead of going "augh thats some stupid shit" and throwing my own stupid shit into the pile, I'll be like "augh thats some stupid shit lol" and get off the bus. It's just easier to walk away from.

So let me ask again-
WHY?

Not sure what's so hard to understand about this, it's just convenient to be able to adjust settings on one platform without worrying about it making things worse on another.

There are other nice things too though, like having different ignore lists, people aren't gonna freak the fuck out if you only make small comments from a work or phone account in mafia, etc

Also I dunno if gamefaqs actually logs you out if you have mutiiple sessions logged in on the same account from different devices but I feel like it used to have to log on on my phone all the time but I haven't had to for a long time. Not sure if that's related to using an alt or not.


I also used to use a work account just to keep my user map separated but i stopped caring about that a long time ago. Go ahead and axe me.
