imo, it has some good ideas but the execution is really clunky. The level of randomness involved is just so excessive, and the stamina cost is too high for the rewards it gives out. But I actually like the actual support conversations (especially the group ones) so I'm OK with seeing it more. It would be nice if the gameplay of the matches were even slightly different, though.

I have a +5 Ryoma, totally randomly. Only one was as a focus unit and the rest were pity breakers. I also have a +5 Jaffar but that is more from me going out of my way to get more.

Other than that, I have a +3 Elise, a +2 Young Tiki (all from that legendary banner last month), and a +1 Sanaki.

Dragon Quest 8 on PS2 had a super obscure feature where pressing the left control stick registered as an X input (confirm).

For a game where you're doing a lot of running around talking to people and opening doors/chests outside of battle, I actually used this a lot. You could play the game with your left hand while doing something else with your right (browsing the internet because DQ8 while great, is very slow). I haven't seen any other game do this.

Bravely Default and Bravely Second have a similar thing - pressing right on the d-pad is A and pressing left is B. It's pretty great.

One thing I like a lot that I don't see very much is timed presses to increase attack or defense like in the Mario RPGs. Has there been a "serious" RPG that uses them?

Oh come on, are people still parroting this? She meant that she thought of herself as a monster because she willingly subjected herself to sterilization, for the purpose of becoming a better assassin. Not just the fact that she is unable to give birth.

Anyway, Han, I mostly have the same issues as you with respect to this movie but I will say that in retrospect this movie sets up a LOT of stuff for phase 3. Unfortunately because the movie itself was so forgettable most of it didn't really land, but it is there.

Also, the two scenes with Mjolnir (everyone trying to lift it at the party, and then Vision handing it to Thor) are two of the best scenes in the MCU.

And yeah, his real job is playing poker, but how did he (or the restaurant he worked at) discover he was so good at it? He had to start with playing piano first, right? I agree it makes sense that he's good at it because he's so good at bluffing, reading people, reacting quickly, and not being afraid to take risks. It also makes sense to me that he wouldn't want to be involved in any kind of illegal gambling because he's still a lawyer deep down.

Didn't it say that he took advantage of Trucy's ability to perceive people to tell when they were bluffing?

I have mixed feelings about this banner. I love FE7 and the Black Fang but I don't care very much about Karla, and even though I love Nino seeing an alt of her is not that exciting to me. Legault is great but he will probably be demoted. I'm much more excited about Canas and Lloyd, but they probably won't be as useful. I'm actually kind of hoping they will pull an Ayra/Rhajat and sneak Canas onto another banner.

I am sad to see so many people saying the Rival Domains mode isn't fun. I personally have a blast with it, I guess it just depends on what team you put together. If you have a Jaffar or Pain+ healer on your team, along with a WoM dancer, and one or two Steady Breath dragons, you can tear through almost anything.

I saw it twice and both times people applauded when it first cut to Wakanda and when Spiderman was "knighted", in addition to Cap and Thor's big entrances. So much fun. It also made the ending, when everyone was completely silent, even more intense.

I enjoyed the movie a lot as I was watching it, but there are clearly a lot of issues with it, and I can certainly understand why some people can't look past them. But I'm willing to wait for episode 9 at least before we outright decide what has broken the universe and what hasn't.

I will say that I hope DJ has an important role. Otherwise that whole casino sideplot was a complete and utter waste of time.

Yeah, I don't get why it had to be a month instead of, like, two weeks. It's a little silly that everyone involved still remembers all the details so clearly. But whatever, it's still one of my favorite midgame cases. The scenes with Violetta are so wonderfully tense.
