Uh yeah we did

Mint berry crunch!

I mean, what wasn't concluded.

Kenny is literally magical.

And he's (and apparently his parents) aware of it while nobody else is.

He still puts on the Mysterion costume on every once in a while but there is no big plot around it since everybody (well, all the South Park kids) knows it's Kenny now, and they even explored his origin and motivations.

If you want more Mysterion there is the upcoming South Park game which is superhero themed with everyone in their hero personas which includes Kenny as Mysterion.

It was self contained but it was boring.

It was basically a whole dragged out episode which sole purpose was to show that Cartman was back to "normal" and to break up him and Heidi to hit the reset button on all the changes made during the last season.

Don't get me wrong, I prefer them making individual episodes ahead of time over making each episode 1 week before it airs about the current political hot topic, but last nights episode just wasn't very good.

The Switch's battery is tiny, if you're playing a AAA game you got about 2 hours. If you really want to take it on more than a short commute you'll need power bank, and a specific type that supports the Switch.

Safer_777 posted...
3)This thing takes cartridges correct?

Yes, but because the Switch's cartridges are expensive some publishers have opted to use the smallest, cheaper Switch cartridge, which Nintendo makes them buy, and put the rest of the game as an eShop download into your microSD card (which you will also have to buy a decently sized one of your own), meaning the game won't work unless you have both the cartridge and the microSD card with the downloaded data inserted as the same time, or charge extra for the Switch version (but have the whole game on the cartridge) to cover the higher price of the Switch cartridges.

Which do you prefer? Plot Armor through popularity or giving a popular character a meaningful death?

If a character becomes popular enough in an ongoing story that isn't complete upon its release, they are often preserved, because they are popular (as it becomes fiscally foolish to kill them off even if you originally intended to), sometimes even being brought back from (supposed) death, however, this also sets the precedent that if a character is popular, they are safe from death, which can detract from how surprising a story can truly be if you know certain people without a doubt can't die, even excluding the protagonists and even other main characters.

Many people misunderstand the destructive power of most bullets because of movies and games misrepresenting them, they are mostly designed to penetrate flesh, and not do much else (especially handguns), that said, it's enough in most situations as most threats are not walking around in armor.

Yes, a sword swung by an average person has more destructive potential than a clip of handgun bullets, but in terms of combat against most things which are not immune to bullets, a handgun is more reliable and easier to use, unless you have super powers like a Jedi and can block bullets with your sword.

Sentient doesn't mean they can't be raised perfect for their job. Without a need to eat and sleep and the ability to be turned off any time, they become the best gaming opponents you could hope for.

Didn't say they couldn't be, in stories where sentient AIs are made and sold they are often pre programmed to be good at and desire to serve the purpose they were made for, and most AIs are happy to live out their lives serving that purpose, but as sentient beings they have the ability to change their minds and choose to not follow what they were programmed to do.

I don't mean a small niche market, I mean a big one.

Metal Gear Rising had an interesting take on the concept, where they designed computers that were more like organic brains than traditional computers to achieve "human like learning ability", so much so that these "brain" computers couldn't be programmed, they would instead put them through a VR simulation to essentially "raise" them to serve their purpose, but have the process fast forwarded so it could be mass produced (the mass manufactured ones roughly had the intelligence of a child but had the efficiency of machines).

Funnily enough, there was a company that succeeded in created a "brain" computer that housed a fully intelligent, sentient AI, but the project was shut down after their first prototype because it was decided that sentient AIs have no market appeal over non sentient AIs since they can't be forced to blindly do something passionately and risk disobeying.

Than you have Megaman Battle Network, where everyone basically has an intelligent, sentient AI as their personal assistant (they have the ability to disagree with and refuse to do things their owners ask of them, but it's not really a problem that deters their use).

Funny enough, I coulda sworn despite the Federation being a utopia society, holograms are essentially treated like slaves despite their self-awareness. Would be interesting to see where our society take this some decades or centuries from now.

Jokes aside, we as a society still have issues with racism, basic human rights, animal rights, etc, etc. Regardless of where one stands on these issues I don't think we'll ever be "mature" enough to progress past these and start to deal with other issues.

It's funny, because TNG pushes that Earth is like a utopia with no prejudice, poverty or hunger (no real explanation of how they do this), but there are clearly episodes that show people still have the capability of being selfish, deceitful, and prejudiced in the series even towards other organics, and the Federation clearly does not treat everyone fairly, and endorses genocide "for the greater good".

In the Megaman X universe "robots" are self aware, but to "control" them so they serve the purpose they were built for they are programmed with pre existing beliefs, but since they have true intelligence and are self aware, they have the capability of changing their minds on those pre programmed beliefs.

I imagine if sentient AIs became commonplace it'd be along those lines, but tech companies are already calling for bans on the development of sentient AIs (afraid of their vast fortune being taken away by machines).

If you're interested in a really good game that delves into the the rights of AIs as well as prejudice treatment of them, give "Binary Domain" a try.

There are countless games where the baked in reward for the moral wrong is that it's the far easier path.

The "problem" with this as a reward is often, since you are playing a game you (likely) paid for, many people want the additional game play, so it's practically a punishment to allow you the easier path unless the hard path is really hard or there is a severe punishment for failing (that you can't just reload your save from), or the requirement for the good moral choice makes you do a lot or boring menial tasks.

Or at the very least reward you much more for making selfish choices?

Most games reward you much more for making the good moral choices over the morally bad ones. Or like Bioshock, you get an immediate reward for making a selfish moral choice, but a larger reward later for the good moral choice.

I can think of some instances in Skyrim where you get collectible item for making a morally bad choice, but there is no real punishment for making the morally good one.

I always thought the concept of rewarding players for making morally good choices in games was silly, as most people don't need motivation to make the morally good choice in a game anyway, and there should be temptation to make the morally bad choice for the choice to at all be interesting.

I didn't play it but I think the gimmick of the game LISA is that you are severely punished every time you make a morally good choice.
