The central dungeon you keep revisiting filled with enemies you can't defeat and instant kill you, so you must run from them, is controversial, and a lot of people hate it, but otherwise, the games are okay.

Spirit Tracks is better than Phantom Hourglass in my opinion.

In fact, I would argue Spirit Tracks is good.

I still hate the entire concept of the central dungeon though.

Metal Gear Solid 5.

After you're told to infiltrate the same place for the 5th time it gets pretty boring. I'm not a fan of the mission format in general, and the story was worse than MGS4 somehow. And the deployment cost basically meant there wasn't a huge reason to be unlocking and using the best equipment, because using it was super expensive in it itself, not just the already high unlock cost. It whole equipment system was seeming created to promote pay to win, as you can massively increase your resource intake by paying real money.

In general I'm not a huge fan of games without any story. "Here's a gun go kill things, etc." doesn't motivate me, but that's a personal preference.

If were talking about industry critics, the fact that Paper Mario: Sticker Star sits at an average of 75% shows their inability to be harsh toward certain games when it's obvious that the game is flawed on the mechanical and conceptional level even if you dislike story in games. Sure, there are some people who legitimately like Sticker Star, that's fine, but I have a hard time believing almost no critics thought the game was bad.

I think we'd have massive issues if Dialga and Palkia fought.

The thing is, as the Pokemon series portrays it, even though these Pokemon that have the ability to cause great disaster's exist, they kind of just don't unless you go really far out of your way to mess with them.

Given, Pokemon is written fairly poorly. The world is portrayed as a utopia, without really going into depth as to how that was possibly achieved. Pokemon battles are excused with the hand waved explanation of the Pokemon enjoying competing with each other through battles, even though many people clearly use them as weapons.

Anyway, I think the world would be far more entertaining, but the big governments around the world would definitely try to prevent normal people from interacting with, or owning Pokemon, because it would be a gargantuan loss in their ability to maintain and enforce their power.

Ottilie also said that while they plan to stay with the episodic release format established by the original Telltale

See, while it's understandable for a small studio to want less risk and for one episode's profits to fund the next, if they refuse to take the risk and release the whole game at once, they are setting themselves up for another failure.

Another big benefit to releasing the whole game at once, is it helps alleviate another one of their big issues, that your choices in the game barely ever matter. Because every episode needs to basically start at the same place regardless of the choices you made, it prevents the story from being able to branch out in different directions.

They kept paying for IP licenses to make games when most of their games outside of the first Walking Dead weren't actually profitable, people were tired of their now archaic and predictable formula where your choices don't matter, and their game being split into chapter releases also had many people stop caring about the game by the time the next chapter was out, and they went bankrupt and closed. The developers blamed the management for both overworking them to keep making more games that they couldn't handle, and refusing to spend time to create a new game engine causing people to lose interest.

They are returning with A Wolf Among Us 2, but I don't know who purchased the Telltale name to keep using it, or who's running the show and bankrolling the development this time.

I will say this, while I enjoyed A Wolf Among Us 1, if they don't actually make it with a new, more interesting engine, and release the whole game at once instead of in chapters, and make your choices matter more, I don't think they will fare any better this time then they did before.

According to the anime he's a monster created by Nightmare that went rogue.

Although how that happened isn't really explained because in the anime Kirby is portrayed as almost an infant in intelligence.

In the games it's never explained who or what Kirby is.

If we're talking about a game that was otherwise actually good, because there are plenty of games that are just plain bad, "Professor Layton vs. Phoenix Wright's" ending basically ruined the rest of the game.

It's basically the "it was all a dream ending", where you find out everything and everyone doesn't matter and was fake because everyone including yourself was brainwashed.

Also one of the biggest plot points in the story is the focus on disproving that magic is real, when 2 of the main characters possess magical abilities, and one of them regularly uses that magical ability to progress that plot, and the other doesn't use their magic for no given reason despite how useful it would be.

Then in the epilogue, the story makes fun of itself for not making sense, like that makes it excusable because the writers admitted their story didn't add up.

Something about Andrew Ryan though...

He has total control over you when you kill him. His 'A man chooses!' monologue seems at first that he's pleading with the player to 'choose' and overcome your slavery... ... but Andrew Ryan is the one currently in control. He's not pleading with the player character, he's acting in defiance saying that "I choose to die, I won't be a slave to Atlas".

IMHO

Correct me if I'm wrong here because I haven't played this game in probably a decade or something.

But weren't you basically Fontaine's plan to kill Ryan, and since Ryan had control of you at that moment, Ryan could have killed you, and stopped Fontaine from taking control.

Although who was in control Rapture at that point was heavily moot, since the entire city was already destroyed, the leftover residence insane, and the place was falling apart. I think the reason Ryan "choose to die" was because no matter if he beat Fontaine or not, it didn't really matter, Rapture, his dream, was ruined beyond repair.

I see a lot of people try to pull right and wrong political commentary out Bioshock, but really, up until the Infinite DLC (which very definitively picks a side) which was basically Bioshocks creator trying to tie up all lose ends before he quit so his creations couldn't be misused, the story doesn't really pick a side aside from saying that everyone becomes selfish monsters when given the opportunity.

Infinite is technically linked to Bioshock 1, but barely. There is no real story connection other than knowing that Plasmids existed in Bioshock 1, and some set pieces.

That aside, the story to Infinite is kind of plot hole ridden nonsense, however, I still enjoyed the game because I enjoyed the environment of Infinite and the story element of Elizabeth's company throughout the game.

It's been a long time so maybe I'm wrong, but I believe you can't melee your way through Infinite like you can in Bioshock 1 and 2.

If you see Donkey Kong without a tie, that's the Donkey Kong that will eventually become Cranky Kong. ("[Donkey Kong's] ancestor, the original Donkey Kong, wore no necktie.")

https://www.mariowiki.com/Mario_Superstar_Baseball#Power_captains

I think you also have to take into account neither Mario or Donkey Kong's stories or lore is serious, Bowser has destroyed the universe before and is still frenemies with Mario and Peach.

So if they were to put even new DK in a retro inspired game they don't really care.
