I'm watching Do You Love Your Mom and Her Two-Hit Multi-Target Attacks and I find it really jarring how the main character randomly suddenly acts like a complete asshole to his mom just because she's clingy.

And I understand that the whole point is everyone who was chosen for this game has relationship issues with their mom, but his behavior changes from being normal to suddenly being an ass to his mom and mom only. He doesn't act like this towards anyone else.

I wasn't at all a fan of the original Bioshock's art design.

I enjoyed the games well enough, but I didn't like looking at it.

I have the opposite opinion of Elizabeth, she's basically what makes Infinite worth playing at all, because the story makes no sense.

Okay but, in the Spider-man game, I can grab a manhole cover, swing it around, and then slam it onto someones head.

They're definitely dead, not only do those weigh around 400 pounds and are made of solid iron, but the force of it being swung around would also increase the impact of it.

Well, in the games, you can straight throw random thugs off of buildings, but that's a player choice, not a story choice.

The narrative just doesn't acknowledge that you've just killed someone, which is the same conversation had about Batman in the posts above.

Tbf cops are a lot more likely to overlook vigilante justice if they aren't out killing people

Cops in comic stories are often as useless as stormtroopers. They're just there for dramatic tension, they're not actually allowed to be effective.

Even super villains that have no means of defending themselves against guns just never get shot either because the cops can't hit slow moving targets are are unwilling to shoot at all so the super heroes can arrive and fight the villain themselves.

Yeah, there have been lots of instances where Batman does things that logically should kill people but according to the narrative he still hasn't broken his no kill rule.

But that doesn't change that the writers are still going for the illusion that the characters are not killing.

The thing is, the super heroes you mention are the common American archetype of having a "no killing" rule, and that's partially represented by fighting unarmed.

Of course, you can kill someone unarmed, especially with super strength, but it's a little more believable if someone punches someone unconscious, over they hit them in the head with a hammer and they're "just unconscious".

Seems a bit too convenient to kill off a bunch of older characters by shoving them all into the Millenium Falcon and then it conveniently gets shot down.

Whether it's true or false, the reason it's believable is because Disney's goal has fairly clearly been to kill off all the important characters from the original trilogy to "make way for the new characters".

This scene is supposedly what caused the most outrage in the test screenings, but all these characters dying at the same time is apparently in every cut regardless of reshoots.

Either cook the instant noodles in less water with the flavor packet, or if you want to get crazy, cook the noodles separately, then whisk the favor packet in a separate heated pan with melted butter or some kind of oil, and turn the flavor packet into a sauce you drizzle over the drained noodles.

Given, how well the flavor packet will dissolve in the butter/oil I don't know. This is just something you can try.

Additional rumors claimed to be from the latest test screening after reshoots.

Remember, rumors.

Finn leads the horse cavalry to destroy the flagship of Palpatine's space fleet which makes the rest of the fleet unable to function properly.

Rey confronts Palpatine who is hooked up to life support and asks how he survived.

Palpatine claims he made a bunch of clones of himself in case of him being killed, but he is the original.

Matt Smith plays one of Palpatine's younger clones, who appears next to original old Palpatine.

Palpatine uses force lightning to disable the entire rebel fleet. This destroys the Millennium Falcon and kills Leia, Lando, Chewie, 3PO and R2D2 who are inside (these characters dying is apparently in all cuts).

Rey and Kylo fight Palpatine.

Kylo still dies in the same way.

Kylo's death angers Rey and she channels the power of all Jedi to reflect Palpatine's lightning back into him to kill him.

Again, these are strictly rumors.

There is another rumor that Disney had multiple test screenings of Rise of Skywalker with different endings and the response they got was so poor they had to do even more reshoots less then a few months from release, which is where I guess this "information" is in part coming from.

Rey and Kylo team up to face Palpatine.

Palpatine reveals Rey is his granddaughter (or is otherwise related to him by blood).

Kylo is knocked down a hole and presumed dead.

Rey picks up Kylo's lightsaber and dual wields lightsabers to defeat Palpatine in 1 vs 1 combat.

Right before the credits role, someone asks Rey her name, and she replies, "Rey Skywalker".

Well, you're always a detective, but yes, the game kind of takes a dramatic shift once you're transferred to Arson.

Basically, Arson is where most of the actual "noir" happens.

If they really wanted to go the full noir route, they should have had Cole grow disillusioned with the police and get fired entirely, only to become a private detective for the last act.

Your version of the story is much better than what actually happened.

To be fair to them, that was literally the entire point of the game in their eyes, and the only reason the game existed in the form it did in the first place. Most of the actual investigations, free roam, and general gameplay outside of the interrogations were added after the fact to justify why you'd be questioning people and trying to read their facial quirks.

DarkKirby2500 posted...
Spoilers....

It turns out everyone you arrested was innocent regardless of if you 100% every case. Yes, it's a stupid, horrible plot twist. No matter how much evidence and information you have, you were wrong because every single suspect was innocent.

That's not actually true.

If I recall correctly, it's only true during the homicide cases, because the real killer is deliberately framing other people, and you eventually catch them at the end of the homicide arc. Other than that, I don't remember any other cases where you're expected to catch the "wrong" person (though there might be one or two in other departments, most of the time you're definitely catching the right person).

The only real issue is that during one of the homicide cases, you're punished for doing the "right" thing and avoiding arresting the suspect who is clearly not guilty and pushing to arrest the more obvious suspect, but that's actually telegraphed by your boss telling you which suspect he wants you to arrest, and kind of underlines the narrative that your department is corrupt, which in turn feeds into the overall story. So it makes sense in context, even if it feels like you're being punished for being the best possible detective (but evoking that resentment is exactly what the game wants, because now you feel like Cole feels).

After the Detective section the whole game goes downhill for me in general. You're not even really trying to solve cases anymore.

I thought it was pretty simple to figure out. Truth=telling the truth. Lie=The person is lying and you have evidence of it. Doubt=The person is lying but you have no evidence.

It's explained in this video.

In the re-releases, the options are changed from Truth, Doubt, Lie, to Good Cop, Bad Cop, Accuse.

The original writers had it as Coax, Force, Lie.

Which explains why Cole is extremely provocative in a lot of the "Doubt" choices.

The earlier parts where you're still playing as a murder detective.

Although the ending was horrible where it turns out almost everyone you arrested earlier didn't matter.

The drug officer part wasn't as good.

Cole's affair seemed like an irrelevant and stupid part of the story to me. It's not like you ever get to know Cole's wife and you barely know the person he's having an affair with, so the story makes a big deal out of something you don't care about. The relationship develops completely off screen too so you don't even know how it happened.

Everything after that was bad.

I don't know how well this is known, but the famously terrible interrogation segments where the "doubt" meme comes from are in part terrible and confusing because the the interrogation option names where changed in post production to make them more impactful sounding, even if less accurate.
