That's where a lot of my like comes from too. On revisit, Carol herself isn't anything special, and I don't care too much for Rambeau, but I like everything else related around her. Fury and Coulson, the Skrulls, all good stuff. The film is certainly better than actual bad cinema like Ultron, but it doesn't really have a clearly defined enough draw to it to put it above stuff like Doctor Strange. I get that Justin Hammer might be some peoples' cup of tea, but nothing else about the movie is redeemable. Whiplash isn't done particularly well. It was a lackluster debut for Black Widow. The whole plotline of him having Palladium poisoning/being an alcoholic is not pulled off. It's not a real conflict - it's just an obstacle. It feels very poorly put together, forced, and then is just 'resolved'. FAWS was more consistent, but writing let down a few characters (perhaps an extra episode or two would have helped). WV wasn't completely sure what its overarching plan was. I don't know if I could pick one over the other - I suppose FAWS was less disappointing but provided If all shows are like this, then it'll be fine because it's just typical Marvel fare, but one hopes they'll learn and improve. Loki looks really promising, so hopefully it breaks the mold. I'm not sure they'll ever get to a high like what DD was, but it'd be nice if they pushed for something like that. Alternatively, they just really need to explode these shows and keep them all interconnected. There was a hope that it'd be the slow descent of a glide, or at least things would even out into mediocrity. Like, with a show like Lost, as long as you aren't incapable of understanding the parallel storyline in season 6, it's watchable and doesn't tear down everything that came before. GoT just feels like watching the most magnificent card tower getting trucked down after they spent a few years making mediocre structures around the central tower. Nobody cared about the little houses, but that's where they put all their effort. THI is just awful - you usually have to get at least a couple stars from it. Red coins isn't bad, but if the box star spawns where you can't jump, then uggghhh. The point of the character is to be someone who on paper should be the next Captain America, but is too pressured to fill shoes that he can't. They did well enough in the first two episodes at making you dislike him without making him a bad guy, but then went a bit further on making this break too obvious. Would've preferred it if emotionally we hated the guy but rationally knew he wasn't so bad. The Wakandan/American fight scene in Zemo's apartment was a little silly too.
