It's weird because CCM really only has one good star. The level itself definitely has the verticality and you descend it, which makes it pretty unique as a level, but despite the design of the level being good, it's not actually fun to play (unless you like jumping off and landing in snow).

That said, I won't argue SL is much better outside of randomizer.

It had literally never come up before so it was not a defined rule.

But now it has come up and the contest runner gave a ruling that they do need to actually appear as more than a picture. So that's a new rule.

Might well be one that gets debated and changed for next contest but that's the rule for now.

Hey, you rallied me and I wanted to see if Lefty actually cared about people breaking the rules.

Turns out, he doesn't care about rallying, even when proof is provided. He just didn't want to allow us to have our character that we like in.

I just don't see why this couldn't have been a discussion. There was no "hey, are you guys actually interested in this?" there was no "make your pitch".

I don't get this. You could have people participating in this contest, injecting extra participation, and the only reason you're denying them is because they agree on a character they want to vote for?

Wasn't Marche once a big thing in one of these? There weren't 15 people who said "oh Marche is my favorite FF character", there were people who thought it'd be fun to take him far.

Difference is that, in this situation, people like Stamp. I thought he was seriously one of the best things added to FF7R. But why is my opinion not allowed?

I mean if we're being real, do you really think Stamp would have had those noms outside of the late night rush if that late night rush hadn't happened and the resulting argument/debate about it all? Perhaps, but saying "oh he has the noms outside of that" isn't being exactly fair to the circumstances

Let's call it what it is - this is an insular community and Lefty doesn't want new blood to come in unless they do it in the strict way he wants. It's just like gauntlets - if you tried to do Disney gauntlet and didn't do politics, you would be harangued.

Also, about the Stamp thing....I'm not sure why people aren't getting this. What actually appears in the game is what counts. Who cares if Stamp is reportedly in movies and cartoons and whatever. Do we actually see any of those in the game? No. All we see from stamp is a still image on the wall. That's not a character. You literally want to let in a still image on a wall as a character.

Uncle Sam is a character. Rosie the Riveter is a character. The Hun is a character.

Propaganda has always utilized characters to sell themselves. Stamp's place in FF7R adds so much - he gives so much insight to the city and Shinra as a company. He even has a fucking theme song.

Anybody who dabbles in media the tiniest bit can also tell you that a character is not limited to a 3D model of a thing. Gotham City is very much described as a character all the time.

Stamp is very easily and obviously a character, and is one of the main reasons that FF7R carries such a tone with it in terms of the relationship between Shinra and Midgar. Like, I get it if you haven't played the game and haven't made the connection, but for those of us who have, we can recognize him as a character.

His exclusion is arbitrary and frankly, it's kind of stupid that Stamp is not allowed in, but a random NPC who says 1 word would be allowed as long as they have a name.
