You know those songs where you've gotten tired of them, because you've heard them so many times? Even songs you used to like? Well, this topic is for the opposite of that. This is for songs where, not only do you not get tired of hearing them, but you actuslly grow to like, or love the song a little more the next time it comes around on your playlist. Maybe you discover a new set of notes you didn't hear. Or learn something about the band that adds a new dimension to the song. Stuff like that.

When it comes to me, and Space Age Love Song, can you believe I didn't hear this gem of a tune until it was put into a cartoon? Oh Symbionic Titan...you were canceled too soon...

Several years later, I've since rectified the issue, and dove headfirst into 80's new wave. Kind of like the song says, I've fallen in love.

It definitely lost some of its value when the jerkoffs decided to be like Hulu and put ads on Prime Video.

But I still keep it for 2 day shipping and video access. Not sure if I also need it, in order to use the visa card. But I like the visa card rewards, and I shop a lot on Amazon, so it's still worth it to me.

I don't live in an area that was in the path of totality. But the sunlight in our area changed enough to almost feel like a sunset.

The coolest thing, oddly enough, was picking up eclipse sunglasses from my grocery store of all places, to watch the sun directly. You could see the moon moving across the sun, almost in real-time. And I kid you not, I saw what looked like flares coming off of the sun, itself! I don't even have 20/20 vision, normally. Coolest thing I've seen in I don't know how long...best dollar I've ever spent, I'll tell you that much!

I don't think I'll ever forget seeing that...

To really answer this question, first we have to boil down the true nature of it. Because, more than simply having some kind of awareness, or consciousness, I think what you're all dancing around with essentially is...can AI, a complex computing tool, grow complex enough to become like us? Can AI ever truly be considered human? Because we can talk about sentience and consciousness in mammals and other animals, but absolutely no animals, not apes, or dolphins, or anything, have displayed or matched the characteristics and qualities of a human. Measuring AI to some sort of standard which involves both us and animals would never make sense. So from here on out, we'll ask the question this way:

Can an AI become human?

This obviously begs the question, "What is a human?" This is a question with no straight answer. If you ask a scientist, they'll give you an answer that more or less matches some cold, hard definition that adjl can give you. If you ask the president, he'll tell you it's the American people. If you asked your neighbor down the street, he might say it was his grandfather who recently passed away. Why? Because there is no straight answer. Certainly none that can be given here. Even if we were to write a book about it (and absolutely many people have), all those books and their definitions have come up short. (Except for one, I believe, but that's for another time.) But let's just name some things off in the name of humanity for the hell of it that you're not going to find in your nearest, totally accurate text book.

Humanity is art. Humanity is music. Humanity is doing the most wrong, most irrational thing because they believe it's for the right reason. Humanity is having a favorite flavor of ice cream dependant on the day of the week. Humanity is reading a book to your child for the 1002th time. Humanity is climbing mountains, both figuratively and literally. Humanity is creation. Humanity is dreams.

Humanity is having the means to create and follow a sense of arbitrary rules of grammar used for written communication, and deziding weder ore not ur gunna use dem. (Sorry, I'll stop.) Humanity is something you can see, hear, touch, smell and taste. Humanity is faith. (Unless you stick to the schools of philosphy or religion/anti-religion that don't allow us those options.) Humanity is a walk along the beach. Humanity is storming said beach in u-boats holding rifles. Humanity is giving in to the will to dance. Humanity is love. Humanity is spirit. Humanity is soul. (Something a scientist can never measure nor quantify, yet is incredibly important to conciousness and awareness.) And humanity is the right to have an opinion. Including one which allows you to deride and disregard literally everything I've typed up to this point, if you've even read anything at all.

Could an AI be capable of some of these things, at some point? Or is it possible that they are, even now? Perhaps. But no AI, or any man-made creation ever can be, or will be capable of spontaneously displaying ALL of these, and infinitely more characteristics and qualities by their own choice of free will. It is, after all impossible, and always will be, by fundamental laws of nature. Nothing can ever change that.

Therefore, purely, as matter of fact. AI, and other man-made creations, will never be recognized as fully conscious, aware, alive...or human. To assert otherwise would be akin to addressing my fraking toaster like my best friend, begging him to toast my slice of wheat bread. (See what I did there, BG fans?) In other words, complete foolishness, and something I will never do.

I never played Epic Mickey, because I heard it was mid. But it's cool that the game is getting legs on Switch. It's heart is in the right place, doing something semi-original for Mickey and the gang.

I tried the Contra "remake" demo. It's made by Wayforward, who made Contra 4 on DS, River City Girls, and other quality titles. Sadly, Konami still doesn't give two Fs about its franchises. The game had several problems, and is just very cheap in general. Which is really sad to see because the game actually has some good ideas, underneath the problems and multiple easy modes.

Seeing some cooperation with Rare and some retro titles is very nice. People are clambering for the Banjo Kazooie games, of course. Can't just be grateful for two seconds, can we? Let's see what this leads to, shall we? This is good news, folks!

I was happy to see Endless Ocean, but only because it was one of the Game Grumps' funniest legacy playthroughs! Play the new one, Denny and Arnold!

I really wish I could change my text tone, but for some reason, that isn't a feature in the galaxy s22 OS. (You really think something that common would be easy to implement. But...nope.)

Gen 6 for sure. Mega Evolution was everything I didn't know I wanted for pokemon. It made some bad pokemon actually good, and it made some good pokemon even better! My favorite being Mega Blaziken aka THE MEGA ULTRA CHICKEN!!!

I also enjoyed the setting, and some parts of the story, like the Looker. Good music too!

I was introduced to pokemon by an online Emerald emulator. I played Black next. Then I got Y, Aqua Sapphire, and last was Moon. People don't give gen 7 enough credit for doing more things different for the franchise. They even removed gyms! But nope, apparently Gamefreak "never changes" lol!

I passed on gen 8 due to all of the questionable design choices I kept hearing about, and dynamax/gigantomax were banned from competitive play. Then I keep hearing more mixed things about gen 9, and I have way too many games in my backlog to consider mediocrity. So my passing interest in pokemon...has passed.

Part of me is interested in the DP remakes though. I heard they got those right, at least.

How about 1 Kings 8: 20 - 40? Elijah vs. the prophets of Baal? God uses Elijah to put a bunch of crazy, violent, blood-letting false prophets to shame! It's an amazing show! My favorite part is when Elijah asks if their false god never shows up because he's stuck on the toilet. LOL!
