The game does eveything a lot of those games back in the day did, in the gameplay AND story structure...but that can be a turn off because it hasn't aged well for some people, even the ones who grew up with them. I dunno - I was looking forward to the retro aspect of it. But everything felt the same - same basic village, same basic dungeon, same game flow for each character, same level design, same battles, etc etc Got very boring and repetitive. --- |

I tried playing the game but it was so repetitive I wanted to get an indication if there was going to be any payoff by suffering through it. Read the synopsis of one story and it was underwhelming so I kept going and read the rest. Not going to touch the game ever again and glad I didn't slog through the entire thing. --- |

They should've taken a page out of Suikoden 3 where they had different perspectives yet it didn't feel draining going through each one. --- |
