As a previous Swift apologist, Im genuinely so tired of her and any mediocrity she churns out getting astronomically more attention and acclaim than the thousands of hardworking musicians out there making stuff that actually is fresh and creative

my friend is said die hard Swiftie. Its very cringe and she's used phrases and song lyrics in conversation which is what really turned me off from wanting to like her but I feel like listening to the songs and people are really always finding reasons to complain about her.

yeah shes undeniably talented, I do like most of her stuff but the oversaturation leads me to rarely listen to her now

Not my favorite Cranberries song, and the band I was in in the early 90s wrote a bassline nearly identical to this song a few months before it hit the radio so Im always slightly biased against it, but still an obvious classic from a great band

Lots and lots of classics, obviously one of the greats for most of his career, even as a kid. Dangerous was a big step down though, while still good, and I cant think of anything I like of his after that era

Never cared for No Doubt. I guess if you took away Garbage, Tori Amos, Liz Phair, PJ Harvey, The Cranberries, Bjork, Belly, Juliana Hatfield, The Breeders, and Natalie Merchant theyd be interesting.

counterpoint: none of those artists did ska, which makes no doubt (at least their first two albums) pretty interesting

Just imagine the situation this guy put them in. Imagine if a close friend or family member came to you and asked for your support.

Also keep in mind that Brian did not outright deny what happened. He instead told a warped reality of that to his close friends.

Think about a person close to you coming to you and asking for your support for something that they were accused of and suggesting that they in fact were the victim.

we want to give those we know the benefit of the doubt. Unfortunately in this situation good people were taken advantage of.

I want to make it clear. Im ultimately on their side and sympathetic to them. Will Friedle has been one of my favorite actors as long as I can remember. Its still pretty fucked though and I cant help but feel disappointment

I would recommend listening to their podcast episode on the issue. They really go into detail as to what happened and how exactly they were manipulated by the guy.

You can tell they truly regret what they did and at the time they were certainly misled. Clearly, they wanted to see the good in their friend and were manipulated. Unfortunately, it can happen to good people.

oh yeah, Ive listened, and dont get me wrong I feel for them, I really do. Still cant help but feel a little icky about it regardless though
