I am in no way implying that anyone should ever pirate a game instead of legally acquiring it, but it's made in Unity, an engine that will function on just about anything. It's therefore very likely it's going to be datamined and easily available on the internet sometime next year. I would encourage absolutely nobody to look for this sort of thing regardless of how outrageous the retail price is.

I love the game and the characters are both entertaining and well written, but the plot feels more like flavour than the main focus, and I have no strong feelings towards most of it. Or in the case of some plotlines, complete apathy.

Some of these game choices are nuts, particularly in franchises. Pokemon Yellow, Halo 2, RDR1 over 2 and MKD8 are all just weird. Also, Journey as a #2 seed? Assassin's Creed 4, KotOR and Half-Life Alyx being anywhere near a "best games ever" list at all? Just about the only odder game I'm glad got in is Burnout 3 but I think that's just cause I love driving games.

I always use 1x speed except when I am incredibly sleep deprived but need to stay awake. In that case, I will put on an early Hatsune Miku song or the bass-boosted version of the Spiderman 2 Pizza Delivery song and speed it up to 2x in order to stop myself dozing off. I'm fairly sure that constitutes torture if done to others but I figure if it's consensually done to myself then it's not too bad.

Oh, the other thing I think is a problem with dubs is how closely they try to match the Japanese voices sometimes, especially high-pitched female voices, which usually don't work as well in English. They should be more willing to change it to something that sounds more natural.
Yeah, the main reason I avoid dubs is because even the weird anime girl moans make me cringe less than hearing cheesy lines in the typical anime girl voice. At least in Japanese I don't understand it enough to cringe.

I'd also add that a lot of shows I watch deal with big Japanese cultural/language things which just wouldn't come across in English - Asobi Asobase, Saiki K, Oregairu and Hyouka come to mind, plus I'm learning Japanese and subs really help me make connections between words and beat certain ideas into my brain. I think dub is good or even preferable for anyone who can't read quick and enjoys mostly action-based stuff and shounen, since those tend to get the best dubs and are also impacted the least by translation.

I think one of the Love Plus games has a fan translation. But I guess thats more of a straight-up dating sim.
I played one of them for about five hours because of a combination of morbid curiosity and boredom, and then my game crashed and I had to shout that I loved the girl into my mic in Japanese because she got angry I didn't save. You can decide for yourself whether or not I did that, but my mic didn't work anyway, so I was boned and my progress was ruined. Excellent game mechanic, would highly recommend if you enjoy wasting your life away.

Mildly related, but am I right to avoid the later Phoenix Wright installments? I've not heard a lot of great things about them, having just completed the AA trilogy and found it decent but not amazing.

I've barely watched any of these but I feel like I'll have a more varied opinion on this lot than I would have some other lists. At least I saw The Mitchells vs the Machines last week so I'm out of the blocks. Also finally a reason to get around to It's A Beautiful Day which I have been putting off for about three years since someone on here recommended it.

I'm curious as to how strong the MHA brand is right now.

I feel like nobody has talked or cared about the actual anime for a couple years now. Sounds like the manga has mixed opinions with some thinking it's amazing and others disliking where it's been going? I need to catch up.
I really like where the manga's going, but I think PJ is right and the anime is aimed at the young teen audience (i.e: not B8) more right now along with just having worse production value recently. I'd catch up on the manga but skip the anime.

Speaking of anime, the only thing I've watched which wasn't an adaptation or sequel in the last two years is Wonder Egg which was unfortunately just bad at the end. Anything original that's been decent in recent seasons?

Finally caught up on the MHA anime. Kinda wish I hadn't. I think I'm just gonna read the manga now and catch back up if the production gets half-decent again. I assume it's just that Bones are stretched thin between the yearly movies and the actual series? At least the manga has been good for a while and isn't showing signs of slowing down.

I think it's solid and stays around as good as it starts, with a couple episodes sticking out as better than the rest. Very, very good OP, too!

No shit, it's Pokemon on the Switch. It doesn't matter how shitty they are, they'll sell millions.
This is the bit I hate most. Game Freak haven't gotten a penny of my money since I bought X around launch, but even if a million or so people like me won't buy products at the standards they're putting out anymore, more than enough people will for it to be worthwhile.

I hope that Arceus is delayed to 2023 and BDSP has Platinum features. I am also fully prepared for both to be disappointing messes and for the remake to be worse than the decade-old expansion of the original.

And another thing to add about the history of national anthems: they're literally just songs. They aren't sacred or anything, they're usually just local songs which were then used for sporting events. Almost none are about taking pride in soldiers and stuff like that. It's literally just an American thing and playing an anthem is almost never actually about the military. The only reason you feel this way is because America is essentially one big well-oiled military machine, because this isn't really a big thing outside of aggressively militaristic countries.

I don't entirely understand what you're trying to actually say aside from that the national anthem is good and criticising it is bad and happens because people know nothing. Could you please attempt to be coherent?

I'd mostly like to say that other countries don't feel the need to remind everyone how proud they should be before every single sporting event. I really don't understand it especially given it's a mediocre anthem. At least it's not God Save the Queen.
