The conceptual issue with the live action remakes is they're "not terrible but worse than the animation" at best.

The only real reason to watch them is if you're curious or a diehard hater of animation.

I've had the same experience, was talking to someone about something very specific, than started seeing ads about it just a few hours later, and kept seeing them for months despite them no longer being relevant.

A lot of the chemical heavy candies I enjoyed when I was younger no longer taste good to me now that I'm older.

Baked Donuts are like Air Fryers where the product itself is not necessarily bad but they are sold completely off the back of deceptive marketing and consumers not knowing the difference.

Baked Donuts are just donut shaped cakes. They don't use yeast, aren't risen, and aren't fried (they're basically dense cupcakes).

Air Fryers don't fry things at all, they're convection ovens with a larger fan. But convection ovens have been extremely unpopular with the masses for years, so they called a convection oven with a larger fan a "fryer" and it sold like crazy.

But people like "donuts", and they like "fried" food, so the marketing works.

First thought was Sissel from Ghost Trick

Ghost Trick is great although I'm not a fan of time travel stories with the all too common twist of you altering the past so most of the story didn't happen and doesn't matter. Well, I'm not a fan of twists that make most of the story irrelevant in general.

Although I can appreciate that the twist of Sissel's identity is thoroughly foreshadowed, rather than a twist that comes absolutely out of nowhere, which I consider bad twists.

Dragon summon doesn't create a dragon though, it just calls one you already know.

As you said, slow time probably has the most real world application for a normal person that doesn't immediately out you as having super powers.

You could probably make a lot of money off of clear skies, you could sell your services to halt hurricanes and other dangerous weather wherever they appear, but you'd have a lot of crazy people trying to kill you and governments and big companies everywhere would want to capture and study you to replicate your ability.

"Cancel culture" is just voting with your wallet and advising other people to vote with you. It's not inherently bad or good, instead depending on the cause for which one is voting.

I mean, it can take on many forms, not just "voting with your wallet".

There are times when a mob of people want to cancel someone for a perceived offense and it manifests as mass harassment and doxxing.

It would probably be true but I'd be built wholly off the back of ignorance being bliss.

That's not to say everyone gets all the correct information from the internet (as a lot of it is incorrect information or lies), but they'd have less information to access as a whole, which would still be making people happier through having less information and being more ignorant.

But that's not to say, because ignorance is bliss, that it should be the goal.

Social media's issue is it effectively supercharges tribalism.

I know Hollow Knight has its fanbase, but where is this meme coming from that Silksong has been the most anticipated game of all time or something.

Hollow Knight's popularity was never on that level.

I would agree with this, some of the most popular games of all time didn't cause Steam and Paypal to crash.

Palworld didn't cause Steam and Paypal to crash, as an example.

I don't feel like movie studios dragging a once good thing through the ground to get more money out of it is surprising at all.

I'm not personally sitting around waiting for sequels of popular games, I don't need to play those games, there are others I can play that don't happen to be on that popularity scale.

That said GTA6 has been delayed intentionally, because GTA Online is a multibillion dollar money printing machine for relatively little risk, cost, or effort, so Take Two ordered GTA6 not be made for the longest time and funneled all of Rockstar's resources into that.

With Bethesda's track record with their new games I'm certainly not expecting anything out of ES6.

Mental health seems to be a "non marketable political topic" to politicians and companies.

Probably because it's not obviously physically visible and difficult for a majority of people to understand.

It also seems like acknowledging the issue at all would be admitting to the widespread issue they don't want to admit exists because they have no angle to gain (personal gain) from doing so, aside from maybe pharmaceutical companies selling pills for it.

Snails are effectively like shellfish so they taste good with the same things, like butter.

It's not like I eat them often but they're fine, like a dense clam.

I'm not going to bowl or skate but I suspect the Bowling Alley will be playing quieter music so I can sit at a table and be less annoyed.

Aside from all the other problems even if you had Star Trek replicators that can turn energy into physical resources you'd need a endlessly renewable source of energy for it.

I knew of this already, but really, all this forced censorship and online ID collection by corporations and governments all around the world "for the kids" all happening within a few weeks of each other feels more planned than coincidental.

In my opinion, it was the best episode this season since the season premiere episode.

When I think the kid Beths episode was bad.

I stopped caring about the movies when it became apparent that aside from the first one the rest were trash cash grabs and that wasn't going to change no matter how many more movies they made.

The "everything is a toy" aesthetic looks awful to me, personally.

I'm not a fan of the "this animated fictional world is filled with things that look like real world objects" aesthetic in general, not just in this context.

I haven't watched or read the DB manga for a long time but...

Frieza Arc: Vegata gets his ass beat by Frieza no matter how much stronger he gets, than Goku shows up from his space flight of high gravity training and defeats Frieza by going super.

Android Arc: Vegata gets his ass beat by the androids and starts training while Goku gets sick, than once he gets stronger he arrogantly allows Cell to reach full power on purpose and gets his ass beat again. Than Goku and Gohan train and surpass both Vegeta and Trunks, who was originally stronger than all 3 of them when the arc started. Goku and Gohan have a chance to beat Cell at this point but Goku is a moron and thinks he's giving Gohan a gift by allowing him to beat Cell at full power by himself which backfires, but Gohan is still eventually beats Cell while Vegeta is deadweight and in fact causes Gohan further injury with his weakness and stupidity.

Buu Arc: Goku while in the afterlife trains and again becomes the strongest off all of the good guys, and when Vegeta finds out he willingly becomes a majin because he finds out Goku got even stronger with Super Saiyan 3 and was insulted he was hiding his power from him (I think he said something along the lines of "you let me think I could win"). At this point he is still weaker than Goku even after doing this.

Than way later, when they try to take on Kid Buu one on one because Saiyan stuff, Vegeta gets his ass beat again because he can't reach Super Saiyan 3 like Goku can.

Beerus movie happens which Goku gets a new form.

Then in Super, while Chichi is making Goku farm for year or something for some reason even though they are rich from the money Mr. Satan gave them, Vegeta gets permission from Bulma to go training with Whis and Beerus, Whis, literally the strongest and best combat instructor in their dimension, that Vegeta now catches up to and is portrayed as being almost Goku's equal.

I don't think they were intentionally trying for that, but they ended up with similarities. I think I read Shadow was originally intended to be a one off character in SA2 but became so massively popular they brought him back from the dead.

Sonic ended up being basically a genetic miracle, having super powers for seemingly no reason from nowhere, keeping up and sometimes surpassing Shadow who is a living weapon created from the DNA of a nearly immortal galactic conqueror.

Keep in mind, Vegeta was not portrayed as being anywhere near Goku's strength until Dragon Ball Super, which came out way after SA2.

Before then he was always portrayed as an arrogant loser who was always chasing after Goku but could never catch up because Goku was just that much more naturally talented than him.

what they don't tell you about cruises is the mental training you should be doing to prepare yourself for life on water for multiple weeks.

While I'm not saying cruises are for everyone, and if you need regular access to park sized open (and the deck of the ship doesn't cut it for you) spaces to feel happy, obviously not, it's not like you're trapped in isolation on a life boat for weeks, cruise ships, size depending, are like small towns. And you don't have to choose a trip on a boat that's a month long if you don't want that, there are many that are a week or less.

Now, if you need regular internet access to be happy, which is a good portion of people these days, there is a good chance the ship will be charging quite a bit extra for that.

The younger generation's idea of being social is different as in the past if you wanted social interaction having parties, going to bars, meeting at church gatherings, whatever have you, was mandatory as there was no other way to do it.

Now a days many people get that same satisfaction of social interaction by interacting online instead.

Basically cruises are for when you want a vacation but want to do minimal planning and still have a good time, or you really like using the cruise facilities like pool and spa, and buffets.

You still get to explore foreign places, but your time to do so will be pretty limited compared to a non-cruise based vacation that doesn't require you to get back to the boat on time. To that end the cruise excursions will be pretty expensive and shorter compared to planning the same thing yourself, but all the risk is taken out as all the excursions have been prevetted by the cruise company so the chances of just being scammed is almost non existent (unless you count the excursions sometimes being boring as a scam, but that can happen even if you planned it yourself).

When did AI become a thing? I feel like 3 years ago nobody ever mentioned AI other than in scifi movies. Now its everywhere.

It became a thing when corporations figured out they could fire lots of human employees and have AI do the same work for free forever, so much so its worth investing billions into its development, because the more advanced AI becomes the more jobs they can replace with it.

Funnily enough, while western Sci-fi has traditionally portrayed AI as something that will eventually turn against humanity and to be feared, since real use of AI has become profitable, there has been an increase in western Sci-fi that instead portrays AI as innocent victims while humans are the aggressors.

Many "children's songs" are actually describing a fairly disturbing event if you pay attention to what the lyrics are actually describing.

I feel like it's more that the tech industry can't think of ways to keep innovating the smartphone to justify continually charging more for them. Like how TV's have effectively plateaued after 3D TV's didn't take off.

The "folding smartphones" being the next big thing hasn't managed to catch on as they've hoped.

The AI assistance boxes that all the media outlets were hyping up was just scam product.

That said Samsung and Apple keep charging more for minimal speed improvements at the top end of the market and they keep selling.

But, it's not like people have stopped using TVs either, it's just that TV prices keep going down rather than up because there has been no innovation in the market.

I think the TDLR is like Logan Paul, Mr. Beast was involved in a crypto scam, but if I remember correctly from Coffezilla's video, while it is very hard to believe Mr. Beast had no knowledge of it, there is no actual evidence he was directly involved, because all the evidence is of Mr. Beast's manager of the crypto.

It's sad but it's hard to say it feels like she's suddenly leaving when she's barely streamed at all for years now.

But I'm still kind of surprised because Gura can basically live off the royalties of being Gura and doing a promotional event once or twice a year even if she's barely streaming. By graduating those royalties will come to an end. She's mentioned before that her job before this was as a cleaning lady.

I don't know how much of her decision was "disagreements with management" and how much of it is her dealing with her own personal issues. It was quite apparent around 2 years ago when she stopped streaming regularly that something happened to her IRL that made her very depressed, she's mentioned several times since then that she's trying to get better, and as she said herself in her graduation announcement, as an introverted person, her popularity was something that weighed so heavily on her it made her sick.

You can play them in the order of the timeline if you want, but it's not like playing them in the order of release spoils anything signficant.

If anything, the later games sometimes reference the earlier ones or adds new lore/retcons stuff.

The story after MGS3 kind of becomes nonsense in general in my opinion, Metal Gear Rising actually makes sense in comparison.

Basically the situation is, if Nintendo gets away with this, which they likely will because their fanbase is the most loyal out off all console warriors, everybody else will raise their prices after Nintendo proved that consumers will bear the price hike despite whining and complaining about it.

But if the Switch 2 underperforms then they'll drop the prices back to the current accepted norm to get units moving because the market proved it wouldn't accept it.

Like how most of the fast food restaurants were raising their prices since the pandemic, and even after the pandemic, and kept making more money despite less costumers, until they reached the point where they actually lost money and had to dial it back.

But this is just companies in general. Do not think of companies as your friends.

Tapestry and several other Q episodes are highly regarded by fans.

Q eventually became a good character.

His introduction in episode 1 as basically god judging humanity, while Picard makes the argument that humanity has already reached enlightenment (they haven't), in a sci-fi show was not great however.

You're misunderstand the issue, it's not the content that Nintendo is worried about not having control over, it's the mass of people not under their employ, not beholden to any legal restrictions or NDA to upload their image. Even if they were to profit millions off the convention, that's small beans to Nintendo the company who are far more worried about the potential PR risk.

A museum is completely different than a convention, the content, environment, expected behavior of its guests, and media exposure.

The real indented purpose of conventions like BlizzCon isn't to make money from the event anyway, that's just a bonus, the real purpose is to get attention on their products to market them.

Even before E3 shut down Nintendo pulled out of it themselves because they didn't see the point over just releasing a video on youtube that was far more controlled (and cheaper) than a public stage presentation.

It's not like you need to believe me though, if Nintendo thought having a yearly Nintendo convention was a good idea, they'd just do it.

Nintendo is not a fan of things not being absolutely under their control, or doing things that don't generate an obvious and direct profit, while being completely under their control.

Hosting an event by gathering an army of excitable Nintendo fans in room goes against both of those policies.

People love Mary/Gary Stu for wish fulfillment and power fantasy.

The issue with this is the Mary/Gary Stu is often so unrelatable that they don't fulfill anyone's fantasy because it's more like looking at an alien than a person.

Not that Mary/Gary Stu can never work, but it's much harder to make it interesting, given, that applies to a lot of tropes with negative connotations.

A story about a loser has to make the loser's life still be interesting to watch.

The most recent extremely successful movie I can think of that had a loser main character off the top of my head is Joker (the first one obviously).

FYI the actual term for exploring very narrow caves as a form of thrill seeking is actually called "caving", the popularized term of Cave Diving actually refers to the even more dangerous past time of exploring narrow underwater caverns while scuba diving.

TNG was good but people tend to forget the first 1/2 of the series was pretty bad (or that it even exists).

Basically Vegeta's character arc is about him learning there are things more important to him than just getting stronger and being the strongest.

While he has not given up on getting stronger and trying to beat Goku, he is no longer is willing to do anything to achieve that.

In the past when someone went on a casual road trip their location and status were basically unknown for long periods of time, so if they were killed or kidnapped you might not know for a while, or how it happened.

With people perpetually connected online through their phones and other means now people suddenly disappearing is a lot more noticeable.

I don't need movie studios dredging up IPs from decades ago to try and make an quick nostalgia buck because they are that damn terrified of "taking a risk" with new IPs.

To create even more discourse on the matter they should officially name Pluto an "Honorary Planet".

If I wanted to virtue signal about how I gave my money to one of the biggest, souless, capitalistic movie studios to prove how progressive I am to people on the internet I'd just watch a review on it and lie to people that I gave Disney my money.

Bulma is obviously the more successful inventor, in wealth and scale, I'm pretty sure she's the richest person on Earth, funnily fitting that Vegeta, a prince, ended up marrying the closest thing Earth had to a queen of the planet. Bulma has saved the planet through her actions several times.

But I think Kaiba is just a lot more entertaining as a character. He's really the lovable ahole character done right.

His most impressive inventions were shown way into the Yu-gi-oh series decline, during the movie that came out wayyyyyyyyy after the anime ended, and the movie followed the manga timeline rather than the anime one, that being, hard light holograms that can be used as weapons, and a device that can transport living beings into the afterlife (without dying).
