the worst part about buying a car is that if you don't haggle, you're gonna get hosed. The dealership expects people to haggle. The hagglers think they're getting some sort of huge deal, when the dealership is still coming out ahead, so this just makes it shittier for everybody else just trying to buy a car.

I was at a local video game store the other day and I asked the guy if he had a USB rock band guitar. He did, and he wanted $100 for it. Now, first thing I did when i left is went to ebay and 50-75+ shipping is what they seem to be going for. But the man expects the haggle. Maybe I could have gotten it for 50 or 75 if I tried, but fuck that, he gets no sale.

Only AMD and Intel can make x86 processors, but ARM dominates phones and is making its way into datacenter (where power consumption is getting more important) and even desktops/laptops.

Gaming hardware is looking at a decline, even NVIDIA reported a decline in gaming revenues. The margin on console hardware isn't great and high-end PC gaming is becoming more niche as prices have been squeezed way too high on AI overhype and people have settled for less powerful hardware in response.

Describe your background and/or history in investing if you don't mind.

I doubt most people realize how much this technology and the progress on this technological thread will completely change the world. Lots of changes are coming.

Nvidia is not only launching RTX 5000 in a few months but they're entering the AI PC laptop market AND PC handheld market early 2025. Even with a growing market and competitors making AI accelerators they're also sold out for a good while with a mountain of back orders. They've got plenty of good quarters ahead.

thanks! You are more current on Nvidia than I. My question though would be at what P/E or valuation will this thing settle at? Apple made $100 billion and announced an $130 billion dollar buyback and it is only slightly more valuable than Nvidia. Nvidia is on pace to maybe make 55-75 billion this year. When growth slows down what earnings will they generate then?

this is such a great question. As much as I expected Nvidia to have a blowout quarter and provide better than estimated guidance (as did so many people) its hard to figure how close we are to a long term peak. Will definitely take profits but I will have to do a lot of reading and analysis to give you a well researched answer.

That is 75% women and children killed. Sure this isn't "Genocide" in the sense that Israel isn't going full-blown murder machine mode. Also, Hamas is playing an immensely dirty game by using civilians as shields. That said, Israel isn't even close to "doing everything it can" to protect civilians as it roots out Hamas.

I think the most fun I have in video games is when I'm immersed in the game. When I've forgotten life outside of the game, I come out of that experience thinking the game was great.
